  1. http://www.nightvisioncentre.co.uk/product...products_id=123 This seems to be the cheapest i've found recently

  3. I would have to agree with nick, I have had both the MTC and the Nikko and out of the two I still have the nikko. Gives an excellent F.O.V and even on high mags the picture isn't too milky. If possible search round a few local RFD's and go and try a couple side by side that way you can narrow it down, as recommendations are often personal opinion, you may find that you don't entirely agree. Hence it's best to decide for yourself.
  4. Got exactly the same rifle mate. As someone said its a bit annoying not having a detachable mag but you soon get used to it. Apart from that the rifle is excellent, reliable, accurate and cheap. I went with the hogue stock because I couldn't bare the thought of scratching that laminate stock in the field, lovely as it looks I'd have been forvever watching out for branches lol. Also you can't have the light sporter barrel in the laminate stock whereas you can have both barrel types on the hogue.
  5. Alternatively some people use their parallax adjustment on their scope as a rough guide of distance in that when the picture snaps into focus that is roughly the distance, and it can be easily read from the AO or the wheel. However I would still verify this before attempting the shot. Also according to chairgun the optimum distance to zero a 22 in 54 yards which means from 12.7 - 61.2 you can shoot flat without any holdover and still be within your 1 inch kill zone, then after that out to 95 yards you only need one mild dot holdover maximum. Heres the charts from chairgun
  6. Me too and had no problems yet
  7. What sort of money are you looking to pay and more importnatly what calibre?
  8. I've got the standard beretta plastic one that came with my silver pigeon S. It's as thin and hard as anything, you might as well butt your shoulder up to the stock the feel of the recoil is that bad. I took it off straight away and got a gel tech one fitted, very wise move. If you send me your address i'll post it off for you thats if its the same size as a 686e one?
  9. I have one myself its a 1500 lightning in 223 with the hogue stock and it's got a predator 8 sound mod. The rifle itself is fantastic value for money considering what you get, mine cost me just under a grand brand new, with all the above plus a nikko sterling scope. It shot excellently out of the box and is as accurate as any of my friends rifles T3s, remi 700's etc and I have had no problems with mine so far, some people moan about the trigger but that can be cheaply fixed with an aftermarket kit. Have a read through this review they did on shooting times it may answer a few questions you've got. If you need any more info just ask and i'll be more than happy to help. http://www.shootingtimes.co.uk/guns/rifles...fle_review.html
  10. Another vote for the smelly, smokey but highly accurate Eley Subs
  11. I've got a 1500 with synthetic hogue stock and light stainless barrel in 223. Shot beautifully out of the box and already has the barrel floated so you don't need to worry about that. One criticism I have about the rifle is the factory trigger, it is a little poor to say the least but most people fit a timney kit or similar to sort this problem. Other than that a very good value for money bit of kit, mine has put others twice the price to shame and I have yet to have a fox moan at how tight I am
  12. I have this exact model on my 223, it gives the largest field of view of the whole nighteater range hence why I chose it. Overall its an excellent scope for the money however at really long range ie 300 yard plus on the higher mags it tends to get a bit milky but at pcp and rimfire ranges it shouldn't suffer this problem. The mildot reticle works well and isn't too thick to pick up smaller targets.
  13. Alternatively you could try one of those neoprene mod covers which you can purchase fairly cheaply off the bay. Can be trimmed to any size so you will get a perfect fit.
  14. My silver pigeon game had an auto safety, which I quickly had removed I think it cost me about £50 when I had it done worth every penny. As someone said I need as much help as I can get when rough shooting and the auto safety gives the birds an unfair advantage!
  15. If you're going down the gun mounted route you can't go far wrong with the lightorce 170 striker, you can also buy a handle for it so it can be converted to handheld, which gives you great versatility. If you really want some light then try the lightforce 240 blitz, I've got one myself and can light up most of the county with it. It is also considerable brighter than other lights even with a filter on. If possible try and go for the variable power versions as they allow you to alter the brightness which not only stops you scarring your quarry but also gives you significantly longer battery life.
  16. How did you find that battery life compared to what the manfacturer claimed?
  17. Try reading this article from shooting uk, the first part is about getting the alignment and fit right the latter half is about how to clean, store and maintain your sound moderator. Hope this helps. http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/guns/181209/TO..._moderator.html
  18. A picture of my babies, starting from the top Beretta Silver Pigeon s 12g Howa 1500 223 Rem, green hogue stock with stainless barrel and wildcat predator 8 mod, wearing nikko sterling nighteater 4-16x50 Cz 452 22lr Silhouette and sak mod, wearing hawke nite eye 6.5-20X50 AO Air Arms tx200 HC .22 wearing MTC Viper 3-12X44IR I wish someone would have told me how expensive shooting was before I started, I've only had my SGC and FAC 6 months and look at my collection already. God help me!

  21. Forgot to mention I would be willing to split the gun and scope up if I get an offer on the gun first.
  22. I have for sale an absolute mint condition Air Arms TX200HC MK3 in .22 with a beech stock. The gun comes with an MTC VIPER 3-12x44IR complete with sunshade and flip up lens covers and an Air Arms moderator which screws into the ½ UNF thread at the end of the barrel. The gun was bought about 2 months ago from Kibworth Shooting Ground in Leicester and has been used once since I bought it and has probably fired around 60 pellets I still have an almost full tin that came with the gun. The rifle is in mint condition with not a single mark on the stock, barrel or scope. I will also include a set of caldwell shooting bags, perfect for use at the range along with a gun slip. The rifle comes with all the manuals and accessories and everything you need to get shooting. The rifle and everything else cost me nearly £600 and I am looking for offers around £400. PM me if you need any other information or have any questions. TX200 HC MK3 TX200 HC MK3 TX200 HC MK3 TX200 HC MK3
  23. I have a howa 1500 with a hogue stock in 223. Fantastic accurate rifle, looks good and they are also probably one of the cheapest of the centerfires but still have an excellent level of quality.
