  7. Hi all, just been watching some wild fowling on YouTube and then shooters were using steel in a Remy. Would this be a special barrel or are they all steel proofed. Mine is quite old and doesn't have any steel markings on the barrel. Just wondering Thanks

    Pest Rid

Hi I wondered if anybody knew whether pest rid was still going in Yorkshire? Just been on to the website and it's disappeared is it still going , are there any other pigeon shooting clubs in Yorkshire ? Thanks very much for your help
  9. Hoping I could get some recommendations for some simple stock work in the York area ? Not looking for anything fancy just a comb extension and wondered if anybody had any recommendations they could share ? Thanks
  10. Hi do you still have a 5/8 invector ? ?
  11. I've had a skeet choked 1100 for years and use it for skeet, hide and rough shooting. Great with rough shooting and clear pigeon cartridges. Very nice smooth shooting gun, it's the second one I've had. The first one was a bit more clunky when cycling the second shot at skeet. I've had the odd cycling problem with skeet cartridges but nothing major. Nice gun.
  12. Well I got the miroku back today after having the spring checked. It's a v spring model and appears to have firing pins in good condition and is striking well...? So I'm trying a range of different cartridges eley, lyalvale and cheddite again to see if the second barrel strikes consistently..... I have a citron as well with coil springs which were changed so I will try that with the same cartridges and see what happens. It does seem odd that some guns can't fire some cartridges consistently....?
  13. I sent it to a gunsmith to check it and he said the firing pins looked good and we're striking well ? I have tried several brands fiocchi/ roc and cheddite with similar random second barrel misfires. Hopefully it is something like a fractured spring ? As it's not consistent but it is very frustrating. d
  14. I've used Fblu quite a bit and agree with the above, very good cartridge in my guns and chokes they are smooth consistent patterns. Although I have had a few misfires although I'm not sure if it's my gun or the cartridge.
  15. Having got inspired reading the pump club posts I've decided to add a pump gun to the collection. I've been looking at a Winchester sx3. I want it to ducks and pigeons and some rare skeet shooting. Any views on the Winchester as a good choice ? Any other I should look at for the same sort of price. Can't decide on hat sans, as they seem to have good and bad reviews ? Thanks for all your help
  16. Theres a company in York called hydro graphics . Not exactly wales I know but thought I'd pass it on. D
  17. Does anybody know if any manufacturers use primers that need less pressure to go off ? My miroku has suffered from misfires on some fiocchis, on checking the firing pins and springs are fine. I wondered if anybody knew whether other manufacturers use primers that don't need as much pressure to fire ? Not sure if it to the gun or the cartridge at the moment. Thanks
  18. Thanks for all the input, I've managed to tim Scott's number as he is closet to home. Very helpful, he is sorting my Miroku as we speak. D
  19. I've had my Remy 1100 for about 10 years now. Skeet choked 26" barrels which I've used for Olympic skeet, wild fowling . Pigeon devoting and rough shooting. Very versatile gun . It's the second one I've had, a lot smoother than the first one which tended to make a clunk sound as it recycled. Only downsides are can't shot steel and can't cycle 24g apart from that really nice gun. How many skeet world records are held by 1100's ? Great pedigree of competition success.
  20. I'm sure I know the answer to this, but I was going to to wild fowling with my remy 1100 and couldn't find any steel proofing marks on the barrel. As it's quite old are they steel proof or will I have to get hevishot or bismuth cartridges ? Might need to upgrade/ change to a Hassan or something if it can't take steel ? Thanks for your help D
  21. Thanks I'll give them a try tomorrow
  22. I was reading an old thread that mentioned Tim Scott from near Hexham as a great gunsmith and stockman. I was wondering if anybody had a contact number for him as I can't see, to find him on the internet ? Thanks a lot D
