  1. He is talking to a very large number of people in America who want to believe what he is saying is true. Don't tell them the truth they don't want that
  2. No that was a rerun of an old interview I hope and pray, things are bad enough already without him trying to stage a comeback.
  3. Damp sharp sand in a blue plastic barrel will stop anything you are likely to shoot at it as long as you don't shoot mil-surp FMJ. Much cheaper than steel plates and the lead is intact not splattered
  4. When my sons were living at home we could get through 500 in a morning on steel plates at Bisley
  5. I have 1000 .22 buy 1200 keep I've had that for years
  6. He hasn't got the sparkle that makes you think wow he's good. Whatever your politics, you have to admit that the Tory front benchers, individually and collectively, when they stand up at that daily briefing all give you the impression of being in control of their brief and exude a professional and calm determination. Of course we know the virus dictates the agenda and the timetable. There will be no exit strategy until the time comes to plan one.
  7. I think the police are doing a great job dealing with people who's IQ is about on a par with their shoe size. Its nice to see the police being a bit more proactive, having lived and worked in the States I have seen first hand that tough policing works. People respect them, over there you call them sir not the other way round.
  8. When I see Trump on TV my thought is always what a shame spitting images is no longer on the air
  9. Its good fun watching them shoot the cannons at Wedgenock in the summer https://www.mlagb.com/cannons/
  10. I know somebody, a former neighbour, who died last week from Covid 19 that he almost certainly caught while in hospital. He had a heart op last year but got taken back in a few weeks back because his heart rate was fluctuating. He was in for a week. That's always been the problem with hospitals though, cross infections have always happened.
  11. They couldn't sell them before all this started, certainly in Spain the property market had ground to a halt some time back. A lot of people out there would be glad to come back if they could.
  12. A lot of the websites are agencies that require a fee to register with them. Sometimes a big fee. The ones that aren't, like a place in Mevagissy, he could walk to, just said leave your details and we will get back to you if we need you but many don't even reply.
  13. That's simply not true IMO, my stepdaughter's boyfriend has been laid off and is looking for work. He has been trying to find these farm jobs without success. Most enquiries haven't even been replied to. And yet, on the news this morning a flight of 180 fruit pickers from Romania is arriving at Stanstead airport this morning. That wasn't just decided overnight. Sounds a bit fishy to me
  14. All Starmer is having to do is make sure his face stays on the News every day knocking the government. He doesn't give a toss about the pandemic. The worse things get the better it is for him, he can say I told you so. Classic labour tactic. Politically he is a bit of a donkey, he isn't very agile intellectually. Boris is going to chew him to bits when he gets back.

    Deaths

There was a man on the radio from Austria talking about Austria being able to start lifting restrictions. When asked what Austria was doing right compared to the UK he (more or less) said what do you expect? His view was the UK hasn't had a proper lock down. We still have buses and trains running, people are still going to work, airports are still open etc. Austria, apparently, had a real lock down, I suspect Germany was the same. One thing about the Germanic peoples, when they are told to do something they do it to the letter.
  16. The problem in Britain is that you have (I think) three weeks to register a death but that's based on when you can get an appointment at the registrar so that could stretch back to five or more weeks in the present lockdown. The reality is that deaths outside hospital would easily be a month of more late in entering the statistics.
  17. That's why a hundred years ago the average life expectancy for a man was about 50. But with every advancement the NHS shoots itself in the foot financially. An aging population with increasingly complex multiple illnesses becomes a huge drain on the resources
  18. But they can claim all the VAT back because its a business expense so that's a red herring but they keep saying it on TV like its some massive injustice
  19. I could imagine that Corbyn in his heart didn't really want to win the election, he is very workshy and it would have meant having to get out of bed every morning and do something. It is soooooo much easier to remain in opposition and blame his failure on a wicked plot
  20. There are people who think they had it as early as last September, but without testing we will never know
  21. Its probably the same logic that provided Diane Abbott with a job all those years. A token woman from an ethnic minority to keep up the quota.
  22. Joking aside there will be a massive baby boom when this lockdown is over
  23. I have found they wise up to traps fairly quickly. They are smarter than you think
