I used to live/work in New York State, Been back and forwards many times. From the time you actually board till the time you get off its not far short of eight hours. Mind you its always quicker coming this way.

There needs to be a proper website where people can see what work is being offered and sign up I for one wouldn't know where to start looking if I needed to.

You can go on Heathrow Flight arrivals and check if you don't believe me. Cargo flights don't land at passenger terminals. I can't imagine who is on them, last thing I would want to do is spend eight hours on a plane from New York I don't like Piers Morgan but he is by far the best at interviewing the politicians at the moment because he doesn't let them off the hook. The BBC ones just say thank you for that and let it go

Airports are still open, passenger flights are still coming in from New York, Madrid, Barcelona, China. Well I want to say, at the present time and with the present situation I support the police 100% they have been told to enforce the lockdown and I personally don't care who they upset doing it. Everybody seems to think they have some god given exemption and they haven't stay at home means stay at home. No ifs no buts They say the police are being heavy handed, well get used to it, they might just save your life. A police state? Get real! I have lived in New York State. You don't mess with a State Trooper. no such thing as PACE in America

In London vast swathes of workers in retail, warehousing. services, restaurants and pubs etc are on zero hours contracts and not through their choice. Its the new normal. It has turned the employment clock back 150 years. No rights, no holiday pay, no pension rights, no employment protection. You will never be able to get a mortgage and increasingly will never be able to pass the checks to rent accommodation. Its a licence for the employers to exploit the vunerable, many of whom don't even get minimum wage because of loopholes. Its modern day slavery. And it falls on the taxpayer to top up the shortfall by means of tax credits

I know, its absolutely crazy, why do we allow it even if they are all British coming home?

People can receive income from many sources and still have to fill out self assesments every year. My 88 year old mother has to because she receives three separate pensions but she is not classed as self employed.

There is a question over people on zero hours contracts. Their employer will be subsidised 80% of their gross wages bill by the chancellor. However the contract with their so called employees means people on zero hours contracts are not employees at all, they are external out workers. So there is no obligation for the company to pass the payment on. When all this mess is over, zero hours contracts are going to have to go

Apparantly self employed people are defined as those who have registered with HMRC as self employed and have a ten digit UTR. Those who have filed a self assessment tax return in the past two years will receive a payment based on one twelfth of their annual earnings less expenses and tax each month. Those who have not filed a self assessment in the past two years will not receive anything. Any payment received will be classed as income and must be declared on their next self assessment tax return

Isn't it a strange aspect of human nature that as soon as we are told not to do something some people start looking for ways round it? Not just on this subject but generally. The builders were still working on the extension near where I live yesterday. Pictures still appearing on facebook of crowded tube trains in London, no way are they all NHS staff, police etc. Most appear to be young men in cheap clothes and backpacks working in the gig economy. I don't really understand why some people hate the Monarchy so much. OK they can dislike them or disapprove of them but why the hatred? I have a friend John that I have known for most of my life, I haven't looked yet on social media but I already know the sort of thing he will be saying and it will be pure red hot hatred.

Nearly half the deaths in the past 24 hours have happened in my local Healthcare Trust. I have been in lockdown for over a week but taking it up to a new level now. Not even sticking my nose outside the door anymore.
