They were saying on the radio this morning that it wasn't an arrest able offence in any circumstances and the police had no legal right to enter the house. Who would want to be a police officer? Their problem now is that everyone has a mobile phone with a camera.

You will have agreed to it when you tick the box that says you agree to their T&C. Most insurance is done online now and you can't get past that box without ticking it

They can just go over the councils head anyway.

What he chooses to wear should make no difference to anybody. It's his business and his alone. However, he has some pretty crackpot political views. If he gets elected Labour are going to have their work cut out trying to keep him on message. He is a nice enough person I have met him a couple of times. He lives (or lived) quite close to me at one time.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to get hold of .22 blanks these days?

I do believe it was a lab leak. That lab has a history of slack standards in the past. We will never know for sure. The ChinesGovernment will never ever say anything about it

There is a world of difference between hikers bedding down for the night in a bivvy bag and 30 yobs holding a drunken three day rave.

These protestors are not typically on the dole. The profile of the protesters is more along the lines of little rich kids and retired librarians etc The protests appear to step up during school/ Uni holiday times.

Thinking of getting rid of the landline, pros and cons.
Vince Green replied to harrycatcat1's topic in Off Topic
We got rid of our landlines several years back. Our WiFi now comes via 4G and works reliably pretty well most of the time. Certainly better than our old phone based WiFi which was always a problem -
Obstructing the public highway is against the law and has been since about 1980 (Highways Act) so the Government has already done what's required. It's down to the police to enforce it but they are afraid of their own shadows.

SNP to ban sale of homes with gas boilers installed?
Vince Green replied to serrac's topic in Off Topic
Socialists don't care about balancing the books. Because they don't understand the need to -
It's not a retail platform, it's the Chinese Government hiding behind a sham company in Ireland which in turn is hiding behind a sham company in Singapore. The object is to suck hard currency from western economies into China. All our money goes one way towards them. None of their money comes back towards us. Trade has to be a two way thing, this is nothing of the sort. It's a long term strategy

Yes but they don't employ any staff in this country, they don't occupy any retail buildings or warehouses in this country. Neither do they probably pay any tax in this country. This is the dark reality of the Internet. And believe me, those prices are only temporary to enable them to get a foothold here.

Our local WHSmith wouldn't sell any shooting magazines. This was about eight years ago It's the managers policy I was told. I didn't take it any further. Apparently the managers do have the right to decide. If that's the case in lots of other branches it would impact on the sales of these magazines. That in turn would affect their advertisers willingness to place adverts.

The stuff comes direct from China. Its an attempt to drive out of business the UK retailers with prices nobody can compete with. It's a hijack technique that's been used before. Pretty obvious what they are up to. Those prices can't be real

It's quite possible, given the chaos in the judicial system, that the defendants and witnesses never received the letter telling them to attend court

Seller and bellot amo
Vince Green replied to did i miss's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
There is only one way to find out. They make and sell an awful lot of ammo and they are generally well thought of. It's how your rifle gets on with it that counts. -
A Warning from a Barrister re Folding Pocket Knives
Vince Green replied to gdadphil's topic in Off Topic
A few years back when leathermans first became popular I remember a friend (then a serving police officer) moaning because they had all been told they were not allowed to equip themselves with anything "non issue " He said it was absolutely ridiculous but I suppose there was a logic to it. Always someone going to test the limits of what is acceptable. I have a multi tool, it's in the boot of my car. Most common use for it is pliers and screwdrivers. The knife only gets used for opening boxes. If people didn't wrap so much tape round everything it would never get used hardly at all -
There are no banks so how are shops supposed to pay in their takings at the end of each day

The dolphin boat trip out of New Quay is good provided that you see some dolphins. It's not guaranteed The wool museum is interesting

Bonus! Try buying them seperately

I rate a lot of guitarists that are happy to be in the background often only supporting bigger names. But are the power behind those names. Scott Goram is a good example, Keith Scott and Albert Lee come quickly to mind, Joe Walsh etc

Jimi Hendrix was by far the most original innovator. The things he did mixing chords that nobody else thought went together before he did it. Listen to the intro on red house as an example. Others copied him but he was very much the first and the thing was he made it up as he went along. His ability to improvise set him aside.

If only that were the case. Never seen the roads so bad

Gary Moore is up there but nobody has even heard of him. The reason Peter Green never gets a mention is because someone gave him some dodgy LSD in 1970 while on tour with Fleedwood Mac in Germany. It nearly killed him. Possibly spiked his drink with it but he was already becoming a bit odd He literally never recovered, it fried his brain and it turned him into a recluse with anxiety and psychosis for the rest of his life. The medication they gave him to control his illness turned him into a zombie Green just disappeared as far as the public were concerned. Nobody would even talk about him. Apart from a few token appearances between long spells in mental institutions he never worked again
