  1. The trouble with the SNP is they are totally fixated on one goal, Independence No other plans, strategies, policies. Not even the faintest idea where the money would come from to pay for it all should it actually happen
  2. Labour wanted to do it for the whole of the UK. The reason is obviously that youngsters are more impressionable. More inclined to believe their empty promises In some ways it's disrespecting the 16 year old because they are saying they want the 16 year olds to vote because they are mugs
  3. My grandsons are the same. The thing that troubles me is the amount of school time that seems to get used up on indoctrination of these things when 99% of the kids will never be affected by the issues.
  4. Scotland needs to reflect on this very carefully now because there is a complete political vacuum in the country. SNP are toast, and rightly so. Incompetent and driven by a flawed ideology. Their curtain has been pulled back and people now see them for what they really are. Scottish Labour were killed off by the rise of the SNP because they thought they had jobs for life and didn't have to do anything to earn their pay. A lot of Scots will never vote Conservative in a million years. So who is there to vote for now ? The Monster Mc Raving Looney Party? Well they couldn't do a worse job
  5. Biding their time I would imagine
  6. Allegations of wrongdoing like this are Very Very Very hard to prove to the level of proof required by law. Everyone and their uncle may have strong suspicions but the evidence required by law is a different
  7. These clowns are not committing harmless crimes though are they ? Blocking roads, stopping people getting to work, school doctors etc When Extinction Rebellion blocked Westminster Bridge they stopped ambulances getting into St Thomas' Hospital Harmless ? Just a question Smudger Are you a member of Just Stop Oil ?
  8. Socialist Action in its several incarnations goes back to the 60s. Principally then its aim was to infiltrate organisations like the unions and CND. The Internet has given them a much broader scope to cause disruption. Now they don't have to infiltrate organisations they can create them. Extinction Rebellion and Just stop Oil are two very typical of their style
  9. It's a front for Socialist Action It has their stamp all over it
  10. I think you are a bit paranoid . The crooks are the ones doing the protest. What have politicians got to do with anything mentioned in this thread ?
  11. There is a reluctance to send anyone to prison. More is the pity. And how many people who receive fines actually pay them? Not many, because there is nobody to chase them up they just ignore the fine and get away with it.
  12. The protestors have no self doubt. But I have a question to ask Who is pulling their strings?
  13. At the Notting Hill carnival every year there are dozens of unregulated food stalls. Many selling all manner of illegal alcohol and back street rum. Much of it home made. The police and council turn a complete blind eye
  14. Obama was mixed race but actually a very high percentage of African Americans have some Irish or Scottish blood going way back. It's because poor Irish and Scots Rednecks lived and worked along side the slaves on the plantations and farms in the southern states
  15. During the 80s, we were trying to track down members of the family that my Mum was evacuated to in South Wales during the War. To possibly get some clues while we were down there we visited the village cemetery to identify if any of the family were buried there A bit morbid but you can glean a lot of information from grave stones What amazed me and my dad was that virtually none of the men in that cemetery had lived to see their 60th birthday. That's the reality of going down the mines Welsh coal is the best in the world but its also the hardest. Its dust is like tiny needles when it gets inside your lungs
  16. Unless you have been there and seen the sheer size of the place its hard to appreciate the scale of the farming over there. Same on the prairies with the wheat fields. You can drive all day and its just one continuous field of wheat on both sides of the road as far as the eye can see
  17. Should be no problem at all. The answer will depend on which FEO you ask, as is always the case unfortunately.

    Hate speech

It should be but the woke agenda has well and truely moved those goalposts. Any form of criticism of one of their pet causes is branded hate speech by them And, if you are in many jobs in the public sector these days it could well be enough to lose you your job.
  19. So it's illegal to smoke in a van, taxi or a lorry but not in a private car? That seems a little strange to me

    Hate speech

Personally, as a person with Jewish ancestry on one side of my family. I would rather people were allowed to say what they think and we get it all out in the open. Then we all know where we stand. Banning hate speech doesn't ban hate.
  21. The question of smoking is a complex one. People should be allowed to smoke if they want to but ONLY if it doesn't impact on others . Often it does. Even people sitting outside pubs and restaurants are blowing their smoke back into the building or all over others sitting outside. The question of smoking when driving is another issue. This time a safety one. I don't think it should be allowed, it's banned in many countries.
  22. That was my first thought......... Five? Not possible? My suggestion would be a taxidermist had them in his freezer and decided to get rid of them or panicked. Who ever it was needs to be named and shamed
  23. That's really sad news. The fragility of life never ceases to shock me.
  24. There are afew people who hang around the square in St Austell that really could do with reading the instructions on a bar of soap
