A classic example recently was eggs. When the cost of heating the sheds and feed went above what they were getting from selling the eggs they simply stopped production

Interesting post thanks Years ago I used to work with a Nigerian girl called Benine, never knew where the name came from

Actually less than 50% of the people in America have any form of health insurance and the percentage is growing mainly because its so expensive and changes in working practice One of the reasons so many people actively belong to a church over there is because the churches run 'schemes ' to provide help to church members. Many hospitals are linked to churches. Lots of Presbyterian and Methodist Hospitals to be seen Remember there is no equivalent of Social Services over there. The church provides the only alternative but you have to be a member to receive help If you haven't got the money to pay for an operation you will die. My mate Steve in South Carolina died under those circumstances. He lost his health cover when he had to stop work We take these things for granted

Coal delivered by the ton or more ten tons is better from a better source. Drop petrol station bags it's carp

You have hit the nail on the head. Travellers from Albania would need to apply for a visa to come here. That would involve checks being made. So why would they give thousands to people smugglers and risk the channel in a small dinghy when they can fly here for £20 ? Not too hard to work it out is it ?

I never trust my sat nav in Cornwall for that very reason. They have a nasty habit of sending you down ridiculous farm tracks. I have some sympathy for him

My stepdaughter went to work in USA for a while but it wasn't for the money which was quite poor. It was a big adventure, a working holiday etc but she and the friend she went with could rent a nice apartment really cheaply The big reason nurse go abroad is because they can't get on the housing ladder over here. That's true of teachers too. It's house prices that are the problem

Compare that with Dentists. My friend's daughter qualified as a dentist about twenty years ago She immediately borrowed some money from her dad, bought into a practice in North London and was earning her own money from day one. She can choose her own hours and has never looked back.

Wizz Air and Easy Jet do them, less than £28 sometimes. or if you want to pay more British Airways and Lufthansa fly there. Air Italia too I think The suggestion that there is no legal route is ridiculous Google flights to Tirana and see for yourself

Names have a different significance in places like Africa and Asia. People often have different names for different situations

Nurses only work three 12 hour shifts a week so what was said could well be true. Then many of them do at least one overtime shift per week. One overtime shift gives them 18 hours overtime pay and increases their income by 50% for that week. Two overtime shifts doubles their pay. However, when you are on strike you are not allowed onto the premises. That's why pickets are always outside the gate. They are not allowed in to use the toilets or the canteen. I don't think that is being followed in this instance.

Tariff free trade only benefits the seller. It prevents the buyer from charging import duty or controlling / restricting imports to protect its own industry. In the EU there are only two nett sellers, France and Germany. For the rest a free market does them no favours what so ever. As for a single currency the damage that has done is self evident. The EU is all about control

She has had a shed load of money from Comic Relief apparently as well. So I for one will not be giving any more money to comic relief

Has anybody else noticed that the Eastern Europeans are back? Round here we had a really big Eastern European community until we left the EU. Then most of them had to go home. Now in the past few months I have noticed they are back and in force. The Polish, Lithuanian, Romanian etc cars and vans are back driving round. You hear them talking as you go round the supermarkets so it's pretty obvious they have returned. This can only be a relaxation of government policy and the only reason I can see for that is to ease the staff shortages that a lot of industries are facing. However if this means flooding the jobs market with cheap labour again that our own workers can't compete with then we are back to square one. Who authorised this I wonder ?

What they didn't understand apparently is that while he is a nice enough bloke that's all he is a 'bloke'. He doesn't have the intellectual to make speeches or give interviews.

Allegedly David Beckham was paid £120 million by Qatar to be an ambassador for the World Cup but upset them by doing practically nothing.

Strange as it may seem I think you are spot on with that comment. The sooner the general public come to realise that the Civil Service is actively obstructing the processing of migrants the sooner we might get the log jam cleared

You are absolutely right because even in Europe health care is not free. People who have grown up with it in this country take it for granted but they have never lived in countries where its not free.
-
My mother's Hungarian carer would go to A&E for a sore throat or period pains She was happy to wait to be seen because (I believe) she came from somewhere where healthcare wasn't bottomless and free. If its there you would be silly not to take advantage of it. I think there are a lot of people in this country who come from parts of the world where even the most basic health care is beyond their means

Also the Fulani are Muslim are they not? When she describes herself as a devout Christian. Strange woman

Yes he was the boat master apparently. A small cog in the wheel and he hasn't been arrested over the deaths (at the moment) he been arrested on people trafficking charges

You know, we all ought to get together and start a charity. It seems like a good racket. Certainly beats having to work for a living

I have seen the future - and I don't think that I (my job) am in it

Go on YouTube and watch the dancing robots by Boston Dynamics. The scarey thing is its NOT a fake or enhanced video. It's real robots and they are really dancing. Robotics is the future whether we like it or not Robots have already taken over so many fuctions previously carried out by humans. -
Yes and she is screaming harassment and persecution. She says she is receiving hate mail and death threats (which she probably is) but when you set yourself up for attention don't be surprised when you get it In the year ending March 2021 it received £357,000 in grants and donations from various sources but has failed to produce proper accounts for a number of years. Creating the suspicion now that it Is what is called a shell charity

China are never going to admit anything. It seems to me that everyone (more or less) believes it escaped from that lab through slack working practices. But without China's cooperation its destined to become just another conspiracy theory
