I think she has been tapped into various sources of funding from the public purse for 'good causes' for a very long time. My brother was a trustee for an Outdoor Persuit Centre in North Wales years ago and it was absolutely amazing where they were able to get grants and funding from. It's a proper little hidden industry that most of us are completely unaware of

It turns out she is a complete fake. He real name is Marlene Headley from Kilburn in North London. Her parents came originally from Barbados. She calls herself by a west African name presumably to boost her street cred and help her raise money. According to Internet income referencing sites she is also incredibly wealthy. There is obviously money in this charity business. And she is no stranger to controversy

This is not a real charity in the normal sense of the word. It would have been set up under the protection of the charity commission but its real objective is to attract money and grants as a "good cause" and pay the people who run it a nice healthy salary. When Ken Livingstone was mayor dozens of similar charities were set up. Usually in inner city areas addressing perceived social needs. The jobs though would never be advertised. Friends, cronies and the labour party faithful would be appointed to run them Usually with eye watering salaries. This so called charity Has all the hall marks of being an example of being one of these schemes.

I am pretty sure the answer to that is yes.

The other question as it's based in Hackney is how is it funded ? I bet you anything you like her wages are paid out of my council tax
-
Stanmore is a perfect example of where this happens. The end of the Jubilee Line the station is surrounded by residential roads. Easy to get to from M1, A1 or M25
-
The ones who park round here to use our station to commute into London have often driven a lot of miles already to get this close.
-
The council round here found quite a clever solution to the commuter parking problem I don't often praise them for much but this is a good idea They have made each road a no parking zone but only between 10-11am or other roads between 12-1pm. This completely stuffs the commuters from parking all day but doesn't greatly inconvenience the carers, window cleaners, gardeners, general visitors etc who can still come and go except at that one hour a day. Which they can easily work around and go about their daily business.

There is and always has been a question over the legality of space savers and people are not aware of it. It is illegal to have wheels /tyres of different sizes on the same axle. That is the law of the land and nothing the car manufactures may say does anything to over rule that law. Just because you are given one doesn't mean its legal to drive on it. Limping down the hard shoulder with your hazards on to get off the motorway is about as all its intended for.

They have been coming for decades, but it's only just started hitting the news because of the numbers and the fact they now demand asylum Years ago they disappeared into the back of an old transit van in the dead of night never to be seen again.

My son waited three days before a new tyre could be fitted to his BMW M Sport this year. The car was 100 miles from home and he had his wife and 18 month old daughter in the car. Her dad had to come out and rescue them. The mobile tyre company had to order the tyre specially and the first one they came out with the wrong size because it was ordered by the registration number. In the end it cost him a small fortune despite having full AA membership. He has since sold the car
-
The flat tyre may also break the bead seal so the inflator won't work anyway. People should also be aware that the space saver is only an emergency wheel intended to get you to the nearest tyre garage. It is not supposed to allow you to continue on your journey So in many ways a space saver only buys you a bit of an advantage but doesn't prevent you getting stranded till the garage opens or can order your tyre However, we have all seen cars driving round for weeks on space savers. I have even been overtaken on the motorway by them on occasions.
-
And also (its not the main reason but its a consideration) when the car is finally scrapped the twelve year old spare tyre gets sold as a part worn/ secondhand tyre. Tyres that old are generally not regarded as being safe anymore because the rubber will have hardened with age. The law in many countries makes refitting tyres illegal but for some reason it has not happened here. There was a proposal to include tyre age (6 years?) In the mot a few years back but it never happened for some reason.

You would be lucky to get a small 1 bed flat for that in London

All sorts of health care platforms are missing in the states. Mental health is only one. People don't expect or get help except often from the church. That's why so many people belong to churches over there. It's insurance. But saying that churches are often the hubs of the local community. Providing all the support from baby groups to elderly care through scouts, junior football /baseball to functions and shows and care of the sick and the elderly
-
I know somebody who ran a little business selling secondhand model railway bits and pieces on ebay It was never going to make him rich but it ticked along Gradually the problems with getting stuff delivered reliably became too much for him and packed it in. That was a few years ago now so it's nothing new
-
Yes and the same thing happens in London with the minicab drivers and Uber cab drivers. Multiple people working off one licence. That is just a matter of poor enforcement by our police and border force.
-
It's like that in Upstate New York during deer season. People send their kids away to stay with relatives in the city and bring their animals into the barn.

EU citizens can still come and work in this country. They are not banned, they just have to apply for a job and get a permit. What they can't do is come over and work cash in hand
-
No it won't, Israel already does it and has done for years. Denmark are doing it and and are far ahead of us because both sides of their political system strongly supports the idea. Who is going to sue us for compensation ? Oh yes these boat chasing human rights lawyers. Well I think our present Home Secretary will be more that a match for them. She looks like she is tough enough to put them back where they belong. Because for many years now these vulture lawyers have been the root cause of everything that is wrong with our immigration disaster and we have been paying them obscene amounts of public money to do so.
-
Which is why we need Rwanda
-
Actually, France; was probably the country most financially damaged by Brexit as it was one of only three countries actually paying into the EU coffers. Along with us and Germany. Now we are gone the financial burden must fall heavier upon them. They can't really say that though because to do so would be to admit the EU isn't the utopia they have to pretend it is.

They have to land them in a 'safe' country. So the rescuers always have that excuse to fall back on The rescuers are hardly impartial about this. Clearly they are pursuing their own agendas. The fact that they are even there in the first place says something, and do we know who is funding them? It's not cheap to buy and run a boat like that
-
In the London Borough I live in more than 50% were born abroad.
-
Yes but we need the right sort of people not just headcount for the sake of it. That solves nothing Apart from delivering pizzas what are these boat people realistically going to do?
