Yes Labour would be worse. Be very careful what you wish for, a lot of people are saying what you are saying.
-
They don't give you any these days. They just give you a piece of paper with details of where you can phone up and order one with your card. No I had the ones that you slip your wrists through. when you walk keeping your weight off one leg all your weight goes on your shoulder. Your muscles aren't used to the extra load

So would you rather have Labour?

A lot of them come in through Italy and apparently there are opportunists who have bought an old minibus and just park it up in a prominent position near where the boat people gather in Italy. The bus owners just put a cardboard notice in the window saying " French coast € xxxx" and set off as soon as they have got a full load. They drive day and night Where there is a need there is always somebody who sees a business opportunity

Watched a woman push a shopping trolley into my car

Complete waste of time. Police round here don't even come round if your house gets burgled I don't need a computer generated crime number -
today in Asda car park saw a woman bash a trolley into my front wing I was walking right behind her. She left a dent and chipped the paint I spoke to her but she wouldn't answer. Head down no eye contact threw her shopping and her son into her car and drove off. As a man you have to be so careful these day dealing with a woman on her own in a car park. I got a photo but I don't suppose there is anything I can do

There is a wonderful country called Rwanda where they will be very happy. A country full of opportunity, in particular the opportunity to remember what they did with their passports. Very soon, if the Government did it, the appeal of coming to Britain illegally would diminish hugely and they would stop coming
-
It turns out she was a near neighbour of mine at one time. Although I was totally unaware of it
-
Although technically it is illegal for any unqualified person to give investment advice on here. I would point you towards Hargreaves Lansdown and the services they provide. Some of my investments with them are returning in the region of 10% per year at the moment

Down here in Cornwall they are called 'the locals"

No you don't have to peg it back. Just enforce it in the way it was intended. The way other countries seem to manage it. At the moment the idea that a failed asylum seeker could not be deported because he had a cat shows to extreme stupidity of our interpretation. In an ideal world he wouldn't have been here long enough to get a cat.
-
The crutch when I pinged my hamstring really caused long term damage to my shoulder and upper arm muscles. Still not right now

This whole issue is a massive abuse of the principles for which we have human rights legislation and does a huge amount of damage to people's perception of whether its worth keeping it.
-
No most definitely they are not refugees. If they come in a rubber dinghy wearing a lifejacket they are illegal immigrants. By definition, and should be treated as such by giving them a free holiday in Rwanda

Thanks everybody -
I have a flat in London, it is in a cul de sac of about sixty houses and flats. To the best of my knowledge only three other properties contain British born people or households and we are the oldest. All my neighbours appear to have got into Britain with no problems they all appear to have settled here

We need hard working people to contribute to the economy it's true. They are generally the ones who come through the official channels The ones who resort to criminality to get in here are much more likely to resort to criminality once they are here because legitimate work opportunities are closed to them.
-
Yes and they are being minibussed direct from Albania to the channel ports in two days by the people trafficking gangs. You can't tell me the countries they travel through don't know what's going on. But they just wave them through
-
You can still get direct trains from Chester to London. Although most times you have to change at Crewe especially at weekends But the journey time is two hours! It would take five hours to drive it because you would probably need a stop.
-
To be fair, until recently I have used the trains a lot and always found them excellent. Quicker and much cheaper than driving and much less stressful I can only hope they sort themselves out soon and get back to how they were.
-
Report in the telegraph this morning saying that 40% of those arriving at the moment are Albanian and are being minibused direct from Albania to the French coast by the people smugglers. Its a two day journey

I travel by train all the time it's cheaper than a long drive but lately they have been dire. A couple if weeks back on a Sunday evening I got a train from Birmingham New St to london Euston It was only £11 prebooked and I supposedly had a booked seat. When the train came in it was already totally rammed. The train before had been cancelled so it had been picking up two lots of passengers all the way through. I have lived in London for many years and I am used to crowded rush hour trains but this exceeded even that. No way was it legal to have that many people on a train. And it was so hot and stuffy that I seriously couldn't breathe. In the end I had to bail out before I passed out I got off at Watford Junction and used my local knowledge to get home on a different train and a bus. I've not been on a train since, I'm going up to Birmingham again tomorrow (it's a regular Sunday trip for me to visit my son and his family) and I'm driving it. The train used to be a really quick and cheap way to get up there and back on a Sunday but I'm wary now

what most other navies in the world would do in the same situation

Yes he did and that was at a time when ordinary members of the public would struggle to be admitted to East Germany, much less allowed to wander around freely. He must have had the equivilent of a Communist Party Gold Card to have such high level clearance. You then have to ask what he had been doing to earn it? Jeremy Corbyn Was a Communist Spy | Observer
