.44-40 Brass shotshells
Vince Green replied to Fenlandbob's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
It's very typical of a cartridge that started life as a black powder load. .44 is the calibre, 40 is the charge in grains of black powder The taper is to mitigate against the effects of chamber fouling -
Usually a malicious allegation or if they find out you are getting divorced. The number of medical conditions that could see your guns confiscated might surprise you.

The .44-40 case is very slightly tapered -

Was this a purpose made smooth bore or one that was smooth bored later in its life to render it legal to be held on a sgc by a re-enactor or a western enthusiast/collector? They were around a few years ago. Also used by people like Conjay Arms who supplied guns to the film industry. In both instances several decades ago it made them much easier to own and transport If it was you will find that effectively it was intended to be a blank firer And the bore may be oversize -
I'm constantly desperate for change for all the car parks and pay and display machines. I can't go anywhere without having to pay to park. So I used to go to the bank and get a bag of pound coins but the banks have all closed down.

I keep one in my car for the supermarket trolleys

The allegation she has made says he only had sex with her in London but that he "abused" her in New York and the Virgin Islands. What ever that means ? Technically the US Virgin Islands are a grey area. They are a US territory but not part of the US. It's citizens are not allowed to vote in US elections 🤔 But the age of consent means something different in America. It is the age at which you can marry without parental permission. Many girls get married as young as 12 or 13 in rural areas and its perfectly legal

I met him quite a few times and been to his house twice. He lived just up the road from me

The most the police can do is issue a fixed penalty fine. I bet Boris is quaking in his boots

The official line is that as a cabinet minister she is entitled to use the plane when travelling. I guess most of us didn't know of the existence of this private jet but its obviously not sitting on the ground day after day not being used

Our council doesnt seem to grit our roads anymore, they haven't for about ten years now. The next borough does grit its roads, but only the main roads.

There is no sadder place in the aristocracy than the second son. Not just royalty but all the way down through the ranks of lesser noblity. The first son inherits the title, the estate, the income from the estate and the right to pass all that on to his son. The second (and subsequent) sons get nothing.

Most people who "die from cancer" actually die from pneumonia or internal haemorrhage, or opiate poisoning, but are recorded as dying from cancer. at the end of the day everybody dies from heart failure. Having covid must tip lots of people over the edge even if they had other illnesses as well

Tragic Shooting Accident to Italian Junior Skeet Champion
Vince Green replied to JohnfromUK's topic in Off Topic
There is no such thing as an accidental discharge, only a negligent discharge. Having seen some appalling examples of gun safety in Southern Europe (and America for that matter) I am not particularly surprised by this sad story -
Andrew will be a big fat trophy to hang on their wall. He hasn't got a chance. The outcome is already decided They just look at him and see $$$

Having lived in the States and seen the way cases are blasted all over the TV BEFORE the trial I would say the whole thing will be a farce. Witnesses are interviewed in depth by news networks BEFORE the trial as are police, coroners etc and it all goes out on the news. Absolute shambles and no hint of a fair trial. Remember, the police are elected, the district attorney is elected, the judge is often elected (or appointed by someone elected) and they are playing for votes and grandstanding in front of the cameras. The American legal system is not like ours, don't think for a minute it is possible to compare the two.

It's still legal to keep a big cat in this country if you get a licence and it's not particularly difficult to get one. And you don't need a lot of security suprisingly Plus, like snakes and birds of prey there is allegedly a black market as well. So all these big cats are simply escapees or ones that people panic and turn loose. It's not a big mystery where they come from or how they get into the wild.

Would he still be alive if he had been vaccinated though? That's the real point He allegedly said he wouldn't have the vaccine because he "wouldn't be controlled"
-
Now being reported widely in the press that he died from covid. He has apparently spoken out in the past against vaccination. No doubt someone will be along to say it wasn't covid because he had a pre existing ingrown toenail or something of the sort.

We have to remember this is just a civil case, she is only after him for money. Nobody is going to jail, the only thing that makes Andrew different from her other victims is that he didn't just cough up and get her to sign a gagging order. Why he didn't is a very interesting question. Perhaps he thought he was able to keep a lid on the whole thing. Basically all she has on him is the threat of making embarrassing revelations
-
To be honest, I doubt if you would notice the difference. The foxes certainly wouldn't
