  1. You would hope so but it needs somebody in authority to actually check them. Unfortunately I don't think anybody will be checking So many missed opportunities
  2. It's a criminal offence to misreport a death and a doctor could be strick off as well as ending up in court. Where does this silly conspiracy theory come from that covid death figures are being inflated? Why would they do that? I could see there might be a desire to understate the figures. I'm sure the Chinese did that.
  3. To be honest, i dont see the point in having ejectors on a clay gun,(or even better being able to disconnect them.} The whole idea of ejectors evolved from the poshest guns on driven shoots being able to load that little bit faster It was a snobbery thing, rich people had them and looked down on those who didn't
  4. Hopefully the sad loss of this young man's life will serve as a warning to others. Leader of Texas anti-mask movement dies from Covid-19 (msn.com)
  5. Green lanes?, I know you are not supposed to but nobody seems to be enforcing it
  6. You have always had to be a brave optimist to buy any Land Rover so nothing new there. Marmite cars, you either love them or hate them
  7. The engine size ruling on the tracks might be made by their insurers
  8. There are many different levels of hospital as well in America. Think of many of them as being like hotels. There are two star and there are five star. with prices and facilities to match, Many are run by charities or religious organisations with good intentions but limited resources. Hospitals have names like The Syracuse Methodist Hospital. There are VA hospitals (Veteran's Assn) spend a few years in the military and you get hospital care for life. Thats another reason why so many people belong to churches over there. In the absence of all the UK benefits handed out here Churches over there are the self help organisations at the heart of their community. People pull togeather, if you wreck your car, break your leg and can't work it would be the congregation that came to your aid, somebody would drive your kids to school, the wives would cook pies and shops would donate groceries. If you were a respected member of the church a little money might be put through your letterbox too somebody would stop by and cut your grass and probably an old banger would be found to get you mobile. Its seen as being neighbourly but when the shoe is on the foot you are expected to step up and be seen to step up good.. Its good and its bad, the spirit of community is very rewarding but if you were new in town and hadn't got yourself embedded in a community you would be left high and dry because there is no other safety net. Can't pay your rent? you just get evicted. None of the hearings and appeals you get here. The deputies just turn up and heave you onto the street. There is no social worker to put you in a taxi and pack you off to council paid for bed and breakfast till they can find you a flat Then you are sleeping under a road bridge. If you are lucky. . And there you will probably die because there aren't many ways back from that.
  9. There are varying levels of cover and you can buy in at the level you can afford, or more often, the package your employer offers. The more you pay the more cover you get but its all capped. Some people, probably in the region of 30% of the population, can't even afford the basic level. It was one of the reasons "poor boys" traditionally joined the military. Education and medical care for you and your family, was a big plus
  10. Yes I'm sure it does, but it also stops a lot of people who really do need to get to hospital too
  11. Have a look at this Think the E.R. Is Expensive? Look at How Much It Costs to Get There - The New York Times (nytimes.com)
  12. There is no public ambulance service in the US. It depends very much on where you live. Whether you are a resident etc Where you take ill The Fire Dept may have a couple at the bigger Fire Stations but the rest are private and can vary greatly in terms of their level of integrity You can reasonably expect a bill for $500 if your insurance wont cover it, Some insurances have a ceiling amount and you have to pay anything over. But you don't have to travel to America to experience this, it happens in France and Spain to my certain knowledge and Holland as well I believe. People in my family think im a bit obsessed because I insist on full insurance when we travel to the States
  13. Thanks for that, and some areas are less vunerable than others. It doesn't eliminate the possibility of a lightly pricked bird from a single stray pellet. You can knock a lot of feathers off a pigeon and still watch it fly off
  14. Oh yes, when I lived in US they used to tell you to always carry a credit card just in case. People have been left bleeding in the street because they had no money on them
  15. His address was nothing short of pathetic "we will hunt you down" AS IF????? How is he ever going to do that? i If he wants to bring the person really responsible to justice he just has to hand himself in.
  16. Even if they see another duck get shot it just folds and drops out of the sky. Would they associate that with sudden death? Probably not in the same way as witnessing one of their group getting ripped apart by a fox, and carried off?
  17. You ( and a lot of other people) miss the point that man made Co2 is only at best 20% of the total being produced. Far bigger forces are at play, way beyond human control. We are not helping the problem but we are not causing it either. If we cut our whole world emissions to zero tomorrow it would not stop what is happening. Buy houses on the top of hills and fit air conditioning is my advice. Millions will die in africa but who actually cares??? Absolutely nobody Vast tracts of North America, Canada, Greenland and Russia will become more inhabitable and capable of sustaining agriculture. Which equals more valuable. You can buy land in Alaska for $5 an acre at the moment. Invest now.
  18. Most of these protesters are poor little rich kids having a naughty day out so they can post selfies of themselves to their friends. Very important to establish their street cred at their private school before they return next week Look at the timing, the week before the schools and colleges go back. That says it all
  19. Just thinking out loud for a moment, a duck wouldn't understand being shot at was a mortal threat because its beyond its comprehension what being shot at means. Its just a noise but nothing happened other than a noise, Now a face to face with a fox, thats much more real. Thats in their DNA
  20. No these are one man bands, working monday to friday. A £100 k a year is peanuts As I say, a window cleaner can earn more than that
  21. No one bloke and a Polish or two usually. But my mate Pete will do a flat om his own in a week. No trouble. £100 k a year is not big earnings. I know window cleaners who earn more than that
  22. £2500 to paint a flat in a week is standard, paint is not that much. on top, they buy the mega buckets. two blokes gone by friday. If you need to strip wall paper £4000. and three blokes' But you add £10,000 to the value of the property
  23. I will repeat again without wishing to offend anybody. As a property developer here in London painters and decorators are top of the tree, they charge the most and and are hardest to book. Electricians, plumbers, kitchen fitters are two a penny by comparison.
  24. Under all those feathers the body size of a pigeon is much less than a pheasant. Probably close to a quarter.. Thats why, pattern density is everything, I always used 7s There are a lot of holes in the pattern bigger than a pigeon's body at 40yds with 6s Try it for yourself The great advantage with clays is that when you miss you can repeat it over and over again till you get it right
  25. They probably just bought the detectors off the internet and thought they would go off to see how they worked.
