  1. About thirty years ago we used to use a lot of lovex powder. A Czech RFD in North London called George used to import it. It was about £4 a kilo back then but my memory of it was very favourable. I don't have my notebooks from that time unfortunately.
  2. I think they just get carried away by all the media attention
  3. This has been doing the rounds on whatsapp extensively. National Rifle Association - A charity being investigated for breach of trust (savebisley.com)

    SECOND JAB

Had my second jab of the AZ vaccine yeserday. First jab I had no reaction but this one I have woken up this morning a bit muzzy headed. Like a slight hangover. It turns out I have shares in AZ, which I didn't know until yesterday so keep taking the jabs everybody
  5. Yes pretty much. making totally false statements equates to crank in my world Because he hasn't just questioned has he?
  6. There is a once esteemed Professor, Mike Yeadon, who has become the pandemic's Anti Christ. Much of the misinformation doing the rounds started with him. He has been taken down by facebook and twitter. However that hasn't stopped his followers who have cut and pasted (and embellished) his drivel The ex-Pfizer scientist who became an anti-vax hero. 7. group of 4 should always let a single shooter shoot through them . Just like in the supermarket when somebody is behind you with one item and you have a trolley full
  8. Yes I know Mountain Ash pretty well, I used to have a house in Abercynon. There are a lot of good farms round there but as you say, you are an outsider in their eyes. concentrate on getting known. As a newbie you would be like lamb to the slaughter at a driven day if you don't know the etiquette. Watch and learn. go beating, shoot clays and talk to people.but learn You could be very close to a stonking new rifle range at Sengenyd (probably not the right spelling) not far down the 470. In fact for you almost walking distance. Once the owner can get it off the ground it could be amazing.
  9. When you say not far from Merthyr, how far is not far? Your best approach is probably to make your entry to the sport via clays. Join a club and get to know a few people shooting opportunities are few and far between unless you know the right people
  10. I liked him but now he has gone there will books about his private life. Which will be a shame
  11. A lot less than if it wasn't. What sort of deactivation certificate has it got? Some forms of earlier deacts can't be legally re sold now. Its a bit of a difficult area, very confusing information from the powers that be People are reluctant to buy deacts because they fear more legislation.
  12. Parker Hale 009 is about the same

    Deliveroo

I disagree OPP, the culture has changed. People just expect now to just pick up their phone and get food delivered. Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats have created a market where there wasn't one before. While they have an army of cheap labour who are prepared to work for them they will continue. Quite why people are willing to deliver food for the sort of money they pay I'm not sure. I suspect it has a lot to do with rubber dinghies and the English Channel
  14. I think you can be sure that is a scare monger fake news type of site

    Deliveroo

Lady I know applied for a job with Hermes and was told she didn't need any special insurance, she didn't last long in the job I think she was getting about 40p a parcel so she just packed it in.
  16. Do you need to go lead free if its a non food quarry?
  17. we have all done things like that, you just have to choose the right time and place.
  18. Yes I have seen that, also seen people trying to hit clays by firing from the hip. Some grounds I think are more interested in taking their money than anything else and turn a blind eye
  19. I think a lot of grounds would want to see you shoot before they let you loose on your own. Even if they don't do it formally you can be sure there are people watching you very closely with any new ground you really need to be shown round, they all have their individual ways of doing things. Not just about safety.
  20. At our local club, the only one i am a member, no SGC no shoot unless with an "instructor" and they have their exemption certificate framed on the wall but I have never actually read it. they don't charge for a lesson, the novices just have to be accompanied by a somebody official. Possibly more to do with the insurance?
  21. What you dont know is how often the farmer gets asked. You might be the third this year already
  22. I know of people who happily pay to shoot pigeons, just like they pay to shoot pheasants, go wildfowling or stalking. The world is changing these are the same people who pay to have their car washed or for somebody to walk their dog
  23. My mate had one until a few years ago
  24. Who remembers when all you needed was a chain fixed to an O bolt on the wall? is that still legal?
