  1. Midwest gun works.com They sell all the component parts for and including the bare bolt. Not sure if your model is listed. Also, with shipping etc, it might be un economic compared with GMK. Just a thought.
  2. I travelled similar routes Brian, and realised it wasn't worth the faff! I now just use new primed cases, but can re use if I've done an RTO finish. However, we are already into 4p for a primer, excluding any hazmat charges, so the slight additional cost of a new trouble free primed case is a no brainer for me. Even the cost from John at FES for 2k primed 12g cases, delivered, means the new case itself is only 2p. The savings are really made in sourcing the shot, homemade being the way to go.
  3. Good do Jdog. You can imagine that stone wouldn't be safe in some areas of our woke run world now!!!
  4. If you've tried a RTO then i would say the cases are probably just really poor quality, unless you're running a really hot load. What cases are you using Snow white? If not using them already, ask John at FES if he can send you 25 Fiocchi to try.
  5. I'm no expert on this reloading stuff. But what I've found is that almost any 12g case will reload if its fired plastic wads or fibre. 20g, a lot more sensitive and prone to bulging after firing where the shot charge was. 410 almost hopeless. It seems the plastic cases we have here are so thin and without the additional protection from a plastic wad on first firing, the case just stretches. I use new Fiocchi cases for the 12g and 20g and load fibre. Both have a crimp close and I have in the past, been finished with a spinner. The cases show signs of bulging. Again, what I've found, sticking with 20g, is that if I just do a gentle crimp, no spinner, then the cases don't bulge and go again. I guess its to do with pressure too. I have not noticed any difference in the performance of the cartridge taking this route. I imagine a RTO would give similar results and be less destructive on the case. For the same reason, I reload 410 with an RTO. Most factory 410 loads are crimped now. Weak plastic combined with the high pressures in a 410 load, destroys most makes especially if they have previously been fibre rounds. In all cases, I load with an over powder card and fibre wad. I have tried Andy H's idea of re sizing from his kind advices, but it hasn't worked for me. Once the plastic has stretched, un like a brass case, it can't be shrunk back. I did experiment in all sorts of ways heat etc, to see if the cases retained memory, but with no success. I'd suggest not finishing the case of with a spinner, if you are, do as light a crimp as you can, experiment with an over shot card and shallow RTO finish. Hope this helps.

  13. And whats your problem, other than being rude? Honestly, this forum has been whittled down to a few good eggs, and the others, who are on the attack at every opportunity. It used to be a great forum with like minded people exchanging ideas, friendship, banter. If the OP had advertised free pigeon, fox, vermin shooting ( particularly in Bristol) in exchange for a pub lunch and friendship, he would have been inundated with offers. Bev6345, that you for popping your video on. 👍
  14. Amazing skills in the build and flying it!!!!

Anyone else unable to load the page?
  17. I reload 12 and 20g and adding 410 to the list seemed obvious, especially given the cost of 410 cartridges. I have no experience of loading brass, so thats for the more experienced to advise. What I have learn't is..... 410 is difficult to reload for the following reasons. A lot of the cases here in this country from different manufacturers are very thin on the plastic. This means the case gets distorted on first firing and will then not reload. Resizing the brass is easy, but you cannot reform the plastic case. I had my mec with a 410 conversion kit on it, and like Walker, I used it to size, deprime and prime. However, I gave up on it due to the case issue. Cases that have fired plastic wads are marginally more usable. The only cases that I have found that can be re used are Hull High Pheasant, and Fiocchi. Also, crimp close tends to be a low on the success rate. I buy new primed cases. You are already into 3-4p for a primer, so the small extra is worth buying new primed cases. Like Walker, I use SP3, over powder card, fibre wad, my own shot, over shot card and roll crimp using a gaep rto. Even without the protection of the plastic wad, the cases seem less damaged with a RTO, so potentially re usable. All components and recipe supplied by John at FES. I use and electronic scale for powder measuring because I have one. But a cheap set up is to use a dipper, (surprisingly accurate ) or a lee powder dispenser, pencil or similar to seat wad, dipper for shot, (you will get to know the level in the case )and an electric drill for the RTO. If you really want to try re using shells, search youtube for hand reloading 410. Hope this helps.
  18. Strange how it was all going swimmingly. Then slightly coy remarks from the gov as there is a bit of a delay because Belgium are doing a refurb on the Vax factory! Really? Now?............then the Eu kick off......................and all of a sudden we have the bomb disposal dealing with an incident at the Wrexham AZ factory!! Hmmmm?!!!
  19. My start point is, we have total control of our fishing, trade deals in our favour................when you're ready to comply, we will talk about the vaccine, but get in line!
  20. I've had a new leaky air arms, a superb air arms, leaky HW100, that when sorted, was a great rifle, a beyond ghastly FAC Rapid MkII. I have now, an Airwolf 40ftlb FAC which is the most absurdly brilliant machine. not missed a beat in 7 years and an Air Ranger in .177 again, faultless, that will ping drawing pins at 40yards for well over 200 shots before a refill. They all have their different qualities. Some are lighter with a low shot count, others a high shot count, some with the most gorgeous walnut, others bland lacquered and stained Beech. All I can offer to the conversation is, buy something you enjoy owning and have fun with. All the top makes, Air Arms, Weihrauch, Daystate are superbly machined rifles. There will always be someone who puts down a make for whatever personal reason they might have. I would buy any one of these rifles again, but for me at the moment, the Daystates have proven to be the class of the field over the others by a huge margin.
  21. Thank you Nigel............yes absolutely up for it! Have another good friend on the island, so could be an awful session!!!😂 Just for the record, its not about W Waving, more about giving people confidence that the little calibre is up to more than ratting and airgun ranges👍
