  1. Yes you can shoot pigeons and doves in your garden legally as long as you meet the terms of the general licence which in your case they are by risking the health of livestock and humans by crapping in the chicken feed and potentially on eggs. Just make sure you shoot either from an elivated position (upstairs windown shooting into the ground should you miss is ideal) or you have a back stop behind the run ( a brick wall or bank of earth for example)
  2. Where abouts in bucks are you mate? I may be able to help.
  3. sorry to hi-jack the thread but is it okay to shoot tungsten through a non steel proof gun? Reason I ask is because someone is buying me a box of tungsten for this weekend and my gun isnt steel proofed. will it be okay to use in my gun?
  4. in short NO YOU WOULDN'T As long as you have a shotgun certificate he can shoot under your supervision and guidance so I say get him out there enjoying fieldsports and learning to handle guns with respect and dont forget he is the future of our sport so do all you can to encourage him.
  5. Is this the little bit by the road near where they build sunseekers? the roundabout with the ancher and boats on the middle of it? there always seems to be ducks and geese about there when we go down (summer holidays)
  6. sometimes they just do that. I think its something to dowith a mis formed wadd that expands beforeit leaves the barrel. shows why checking barrels is important if yournot sure it sounded right.
  7. chamber- 3 inch. choke- 1/2 and full i think. Shooting them- free range egg farm, we know the foxes turn up every night and has a walk round the chicken sheds and fields looking for stray chickens that dont get shut in, one approaches from one side and the other approaches from opposite direction. We will sit ontop of the chicken shed if the wind isnt too strong and cold, will sit in a landrover if its very windy. so downward elivation/backstops at all times.
  8. Hi guys. hopefully doing some fox shooting this coming weekend with my 12bore but at the mo the biggest cartridges i have are 30grm no6 which obviously isnt upto the job.
