  1. Also look into the Vortex silencer for the rapid. Weihrach are excellent though, I don't think you will be disappointed. T

    CROWS

A bamboo skewer up under the chin and have what looks like a crow feeding on the rabbit. T
  3. I agree about the general licence. But legally where do you stand when decoying pigeons onto a field that they may have flown over otherwise? Entrapment? T
  4. I have been using a webley exocet for 5 years in .22, almost immediately I put in a ram instead of the spring which made i quieter. I could hit anything with it and enjoyed it immensley. I recently bought my first PCP which is an AA S410 in .177. I still have the webley but I will never hunt with it again unless it's roost shooting pigeons. 10 shot mag and silent operation are a big factors. Also the fact that even if you get a second chance with the springer, I found that once you have broken the barrel and put a pellet in and then closed it again, it was like waving my arms about. Now I simply slip the bolt back with hardly a movement and take a second or even third shot. Springers are great but a PCP for me from now on. T
  5. Same here, the pigeons (what there were) went to clover in tens not the hundreds that have been about. I went out for four hours of boredom and never fired a shot. Weird... T
  6. I buy camo spray paint from jayjays in wales (via web mostly). Real army paint, dries in seconds and is matt. I use 4 colours and a high coat primer. heres the effect T
  7. I try to decoy mine in to the trees overhead when using the airgun. Two lofters in the low branches and some deeks scattered around the base often works for me. I add shot pigeons to the deeks as I go along. I shoot for head, neck, under the wing into the heart, and between the shoulder blades from behind. My best day so far has been 17, not the numbers you can achieve with a shotty but very satisfying none the less. T
  8. Out today for a few hours, things were very slow. I put out a nodding decoy on a fence post and three flocked shells under it on the edge of a field. What few pigeons there were came in to my favourite willow tree. Took 9 in the end AA S410 in .177. all head shot from 10 meters or less T

  10. These were taken from a willow tree yesterday. I set up two rocking decoys on low branches and waited till the others dropped in. All had been on clover and fallen maize. This is what I mean about no barrel shine which can alert them to your presence. Hope you get some good sport. All the best T
  11. Even lamping ferals in a building is illegal unless you have a permit... taking any bird with a light of any kind is a no no. Even magpies
  12. As has already been said, drab clothing. Also no shine from the rifle, no movement from you once in place. You can spend time in the evening watching the trees to see which ones they roost in, but if your eager like the rest of us, then take the advice of walking around and looking for droppings under certain branches. Pigeons often roost where they have the best vantage point and all around view. Ash is good as they tend to have open branches, oak is another favourite. Remember also that they may change roosts during times of bad weather and sit away from the wind, or lower in the trees. Only observation can teach you what you need to know, so sitting quietly one evening with a pair of binoculars is as good as anything. Oh, and finally, make a hide! All the best and good luck T
  13. Always top for injured animals. Doesn't matter what they are or how big they are. T
  14. I have three of these suits, they are excellent. They do require some gymnastics over barbed wire fences though... I have one in burlap, one in fire retardent cammo netting (very lightweight) and one I made up myself many years ago. I too have spooked our local Bobby (bike bobby), he stood at the edge and called into the wood after a report of two men with guns, I got up from under his feet rifle in hand and he damn near wet himself, he asked where my mate was and I said - your'e standing on him... :( I have had pigeons land no more than 4 feet away when roost shooting and thought one day when I saw one coming straight for me that it was going to land on my head! All the best T
