hi guys just wondering is it still worth going decoying if there is snow on the ground or are we just waisting time any advice

im wondering if anyone can help me with a bit of advice im on with applying for my first shotgun certificate and was wondering when i was younger i was an idiot and was convicted for 2 counts of assault and one of criminal damage the last conviction was over 5 yrs ago since then i have got married have two wonderful children and also have a supervisors job for a large mechanical engineering firm my parents own two farms the shotgun would be for pest control and rough shooting i am a member of basc and have been into shooting and country sports since i was a child would my past effect this aplication should i not even bother applying i have sent to the police for a list of my convictions to enclose with theaplication to make sure iam honest with it all any advice would be greatly accepted thanks for takin the time to read this

there is some crackin ideas i think i will try the conventional method at the hedgerow but take the brolly and netting to try the middle aproach if no good the more methods in the bag the better we will be travelling 2 hrs to shoot so want to make the best of it i have a rake of decoys and just purchased a magnet with flappin decoys time will tell im pinchin as much advice as i can dont get me wrong we get a few but our good days are around 20 and a few crows but that is near lancaster where the birds arnt as common

im sorry if this topic has been covered but i was wondering how you would set up your hide in the middle of a field im interested to know how its done all the shooting we tend to do is from a hedgrow behind a netting hide with a magnet and decoys im an amatuer compared to you lads on here and would look forward to pointers im of to warwick a week on saturday with a pal over rape for the first time on the farm cant wait anyone got any tips
