  1. the sv10 should be a fair bit cheaper for a newer gun. as above they have known problems and not the best reputation and resale value. my shooting buddy has one he bought new, been back 3 times now, and was offered a pittance in p/x, £300 less than i was for a older gold e that i bought second hand, and he bought the sv10 new, its prolapsed money. personally between the 2 i'd go for a gold e, have shot both, not really much between them to shoot that i noticed, but i normally shoot a sx3 flanigan so what would i know.
  2. personally i think at the money you're looking at you'll get a really nice condition 682 gold e, or a rather old and possibly tired perazzi. i think a bit will depend on how your mind works, if you're hankering after a perazzi now and buy the beretta, will you in 6 months wish you'd bought the perazzi ? when i started i always had a hankering for a 'better' (usually more expensive) gun, found out the hard way that some times you get on better with a gun which is perceived as a bit cheaper and 'not quite in the same league'. i sold my sx3 flanigan to buy a benelli supersport, and guess what i've gone back to a sx3. only you know how your mind works, and for me thats a big part of what i've ended up with in the cabinet
  3. i always have a look at guntrader when it comes to selling time. if its any help i've had 2 of these in the past, first one i got £350 for, second one £250 in p/x. first one was nicer condition to be fair.
  4. have you filled to the correct pressure ? some pcp's will run under power if there is too high fill pressure or too low. the s16s is not as easily tuned as the earlier models, but there is information out there to enable you to tune them. is the chrono accurate ? i had one of these, there is a good forum for them.
  5. still have some extended optima chokes from my sales ad. have a couple of 1/4 (yellow band) and a 3/4 (black band)
  6. another old wives tale one of my shooting buddies and myself actually have these and have NEVER had this happen....guess its just a waiting game though if you're after one try them for weight, my mate has the 28" as he found the 30" barrel heavy, which can of course be overcome with stock weighting if required. i have the 30" and like it, very slim forend which feels similar to a sx3 semi auto that i shoot a fair bit.
  7. i shoot prone and lsr targets, much cheaper than clays. for me club membership is £50 a year. range fee's £2 per night .22 ammo for prone is £6.50 per 50 at club price which includes the clubs charge for the targets. we normally shoot 2 cards on club night so it works out just over 2 boxes of ammo a month. ammo for lsr is around £3.30 for 50, normally use 2 boxes a night. target rifles are pretty cheap, paid £250 for my match 54, one of the local clubs was closing down and some of the members were giving up so a few bargains to be had. you'll need to add a jacket, sling and glove for prone shooting as well. lsr semi auto's can be bought from a couple of hundred pounds but for a nice one you're probably looking at around a grand.

    Rizzini chokes

i've had a couple of rizzini's that have had chokes that are around 20mm long, maybe 6mm extended from barrel end, should have a rubber o ring round them. these are the standard older type rizzini chokes, and like rocking horse dung to find, dont think anyone makes aftermarket ones for these. your best bet would be to measure / put a pic up of the ones you're after. if you do a search i posted a wanted ad for some when i had an old rizzini, i put a pic on the thread so you should be able to compare to that, don't have the gun any more though. clayman would be the person i would call, like i said he is listing the 'other' type of rizzini chokes in his store. if you want his contact details drop us a pm.

you'll need to specify which type, there are a few different ones. mandel do some, clayman has them in his store, but as above it depends which type you're after.
  11. to be honest i've only had it a couple of weeks, and shot it twice as we were on a semi auto spell to get some practice in for the southdown semi shoot. i never really bonded with the 682, so hardly used it.....too many toys in the cabinet, but i've gone from a 30" to 32" on the DT10, which makes it pretty much the same overall length as a 28" semi auto. i like the weight of it, noticably heavier than the 682, it feels quality when you handle and break the action, BUT in all probability its not 3 times the gun the 682 is, although was nearly 3x the cost. if your mate wants one he may as well buy one, because if he's anything like me he'll keep thinking about it till he does, and is only putting off the inevitable purchase. i looked at a few, not a massive difference in price, but i found the ones at the lower end were well used, i'm glad i spent a couple of hundred more and got what i consider a mint one, and i'm very fussy. looked at some dogs for 3k+, ended up traveling for a mint one at 3.5k, and glad i spent the extra time and effort. your mate really needs to try one, especially a 32", they're not for everyone.
  12. exactly, theres a lot of people comparing the prices on 2 completely different guns, also if you read the gt advert the 'new' gun isn't actually new, its second hand, and a 30" fixed choke trap gun. there's a lot of variation in price for these, but theres also a lot of variation in the quality and you cant compare the prices of 2 different types of DT10 to me 4K seems a bit on the high side, would need to be an absolute minter for that. p/x is the same as i got for my 682 against a DT10 a couple of weeks ago so seems about right, all the dealers i went to were offering very similar p/x money. its only money, give it a week and you'll have forgot about buying it and have a gun that you'll hopefully enjoy shooting.
  13. been using the kent velocity for a while and theyve recently gone up £8 per 1000. been the same price for ages before the rise, probably 12-18 months i would guess.
  14. probably depends on your budget and what you're doing with the gun. i use mine mainly for lsr, with an aftermarket trigger group in it, which in all honesty is much better than a tricked up standard one. guy in the club had his modified by a local 'specialist' and it ended up feeling heavier than the standard trigger, complete waste of £100 he spent on it, even he admits that. have you tried the 'rimfire central' forum, there's bound to be loads on there about it. or a look on rimfire magic website should tell you whats available. not sure if i've helped really.
  15. cheers, didnt know that. but not really much help as i haven't got any of those either
  16. hi all. looking for a 1/4 & 1/2 standard blaser flush chokes, the standard ones briley make. cheers.
  17. my mate down the pub , not really, my shooting buddy had a bore snake break and get stuck in his, BUT local gunsmith removed it without too much fuss. was a genuine one, he doesn't use them any more either.

  20. each to their own but i went with the anschutz, and no regrets. the cz aren't the bargain they were any more.
  21. cant see any problem with it personally. you buy it as if it was yours with his money, put it on your certificate and store it yourself, then gift it to him when his certificate arrives. pretty simple and all above board.
  22. you should also consider a 28 bore. one of my shooting buddies' lad has one which is a nice little gun. you need to consider the little mans size and avoid buying a gun which is too heavy for him. also be a bit wary of cut down stocks on guns, my daughter found if too much is removed it makes the gun barrel heavy, obviously you can weight the stock to overcome this but may make the gun too heavy for him in the process. ended up with a lightweight 20 bore for my then 14 year old daughter, using 21gramme carts, which seemed to work best for her, but she only shoots clays.
  23. been using the 7.5 fibre version for a couple of years now, not had a single bad one.
  24. no option on barrel length with the competition carbon fibre, i'm assuming that's the one you've seen.
  25. have one of the first batch imported after seeing them at bisley live. i like mine but they're pretty heavy and 30" barrel only so a pretty long gun. ultra reliable, and because if the weight and dampers they're very soft shooting, but i would be having a swing with one before buying, especially for a pigeon/rough gun. in summary it wouldn't be my first choice for a pigeon gun.
