  1. My cousin is a chef and uses and swears by Wustoff knives. I recall him saying he only uses three kinives most of the time. Shape of handle weight and balance are important if your using them a lot. Id want to feel and handle any expensive knives before I bought them.
  2. Ko cho line is supposed to be very good. my go to is leather genie it’s much like renapur but with the addition of tea tree oil to stop any rot and jojoba oil. Goes into the grain a little easier than renapur of which I have the paste and liquid.

    Ken block

Don’t think he will have been taking it easy when the accident occurred. From what I’ve read the snowmobile came back down onto him when going up a incline. Some of his videos were great to watch. RIP

    “Beardo”

Sad news RIP. Remember his Pigeonwatch charity shoot T-shirts and all the accompanying banter of the charity shoot threads.
  5. I like Altberg boots. They do some hardwearing gamekeepers boots if your going to hammer them. I always go at least half a size bigger and a little wider fitting. Thick boots socks and your feet won’t won’t complain. the Brandecosse boots do look nice.
  6. Weather is still poor here now I have time. Soon as it’s ok I’m busy elsewhere. Hopefully I’ll get a few shots in over Christmas.
  7. Loved my late 1980’s webley Vulcan .22. Not the best guns but nice to shoot.
  8. Nephew has a Zoraki /Webley Alecto both same gun pump pistol only needs a couple of pumps and is quite accurate with a laser sight. Quiet with a silencer too.

    Bore Sighter

I just put scope on look along the barrel to check it’s pointed at the paper whilst on bipod and but is rested. Fire a couple of shots then adjust the cross hairs to pellet hole. it’s the quickest method I know to get close before final adjustments to zero.
  10. I’ll have a go when the wind dies down a bit. I wouldn’t count on hitting the paper in this strong wind at the moment. Toopped up the gun with air other day and wiped it over but not expecting any change from it’s normal accuracy.
  11. My parents were so happy with the Jag I thought they would keep it. But when it broke down they couldn’t even move it. Recovery had a pig of a job with it. Something to do with the battery charge of the auxiliary battery. After they part exchanged it. Their new purchase had to go back for some pre arranged stuff they wanted. Talking to the sales the jag had done same thing again when a prospective customer wanted to test drive it. iirc they said a new battery and electric control module it was all fixed. Hopefully a one off and not s common issue Mungler and yours is perfect during your time with it.
  12. My parents got rid of their electric jaguar IPace ev400 after having too many problems. Being stranded with no way of moving it on a bust A road was the final straw., due to a battery fault, happened twice. When it was working ok it was a joy to drive., very good acceleration. They’re not for everyone but fire is a risk, a worry if parked in your garage charging. With prices of electricity so high unless your in a ulez zone as Mungler getting tax breaks your no better off over standard fueled cars. @Mungler my only worry with electric cars in snow is same with big heavy 4x4 great at moving. Very poor at stopping due to weight.
  13. Very nice, our very own Dunkield Millyard.
  14. I’ve not been busy on any forums this year. Been out and about more away from shooting. on the odd occasion I’d log on nothing much was happening. A lot of the old knowledgeable members who would write about great days out or past days no longer post.

    Embarrassing

When my wife was expecting our first child we went to ante natal classes. loads of other expectant parents sat around and the midwife extolling the virtues of breast feeding, mentioned nipple cream as they get sore. As soon as she took the lid off squeezed some out onto her hand and then passed the tube around., the very distinctive scent it me. I piped up I can remember my mother using it. Plenty of sniggering ensued as I explained i was around seven years old my baby brother was breast feeding and this cream was used. I also went very red. ic only we thought sometimes before speaking or acting.

    177 Slugs

Will have to try some expansion tests. Probably cack in accuracy and expansion.

    177 Slugs

Only plus at short range is slug expansion and not passing through. Zan prices are not much more than JSB pellets. 400 slugs for same price as 500 pellets. Worth a try and if don’t work in my current barrel gun combo they might in a tighter twist rate in future. I might need to work out the rotational speed that slugs stabilise at by fps in a known barrel then work out what twist rate is required at sub12 fps speeds to achieve same rotation as it leaves the barrel. Could all be for nothing.

    177 Slugs

Wymberly I’ve bought some Zan slugs in 10gr to test. Not holding out much hope but try I will.
  19. I like AYA SXS guns. Bet you can’t wait to take a few birds with it.
  20. Looking nice and you’ve done it yourself. Nothing like using it when your all done. been a good read 👍
  21. Think it was only the game version stock that came with oval. The sporter stocks not usually. You could have one fitted.
  22. True oil contains a load of spar varnish or similar. It’s why the finish looks like it does. Knocked back to a Sheen they look better. I like a traditional oil finish hand rubbed back with rotten stone. Tightchoke is correct after spending all the hours hand oiling, rubbing the living daylights out of it with your palm. Last thing you want to do is damage the fine finish. Straight away I scratched mine on a brass fitting on my gun slip while carrying gun in crook of arm with slip over my shoulder. After that you just get on and use it 😂
  23. Nature has always made people who can do these types of jobs. Wouldn’t do if we were all the same.

    Kirstie Alley

Was a good looking woman with a glint in her eye. She was good in Cheers but looked her best to me in Look who’s talking.
