Good write up, enjoyable read. Figgy

You must have enough now for a squizzer fur coat and Davey Crockett hat. Good going, 28 bore is a lovely size for taking a wander with. Figgy

Wish he would come and daub some of his art on my walls. Figgy

Gas operated 12g semi auto. Usually lighter in overall weight and recoil a lot less. Easier for a woman to handle. A lightweight 12g with 21g or Hul compX carts. My 28 bore has next to no recoil but expensive to feed. Figgy

Yes but he has been invited back now they know who the artist is. Morons. Figgy

Black gold 32 g game carts in plaswad are the tightest patterning I've seen. Needed a choke less to pattern near other types. Eley Grand Prix six shot was the standard cart used years ago. For working out choke. Anyone with fixed chokes or people who don't fancy changing chokes on a game day can change carts and gain the extra pellets in pattern they are looking for. Figgy -
Don't worry it won't be long till you see loads of semi autos on game shoots as is the norm on mainland Europe. Over & unders were once frowned upon. Some people have no choice but to shoot an auto due to recoil issue seen this on a driven day. Figgy

I can over lead both ducks and geese very easily. I rarely shoot behind them but in front, miss at thirty or under and stone dead over forty five yards. More practice me thinks. Figgy

Shooting Times Country Gun John Humphreys used to spray his reeds with glyphosphate on his pond. Figgy

You could buy one of the newer cheaper Turkish made Semi Autos with warranty. If you up your budget a bit, a nice second hand Beretta or Winchester semi auto would be my choice. Figgy

Why not put a comb raiser on it for him. They come in all different sizes. Figgy -
I love the way they both fell asleep and used your gun as a pillow Nice to get your season started. Figgy

Well done hope your grandson does well with his football. Figgy

Been very lucky as by that a right handed would now be a one hander and lost a chunk of forearm too. Nasty for it to peel open like that in the forcing cone. Not been putting HP steel through it has he or had a wad stuck in the barrel then fired another cart? Figgy

 that's the spirit only thing you'll be working is your ticket. No doubt at some point your mrs will see a cute furry little thing and then you'll have another dog. Figgy

Was it the vets near the Brewery? KW another dog at your age probably wouldn't be fair on the dog,as the dog would probably have to do the same last act of kindness to you. If your wife is anything like mine, dogs are not just dogs but surrogate children who are higher in pecking order than me or so she would have me believe. Figgy

Boundaries are a minefield as who can say exactly where it lays with out reference points or measurements from datums. Now you have a letter in writing from the council take as that is your boundary. Get merry with the saw till your hearts content. You now have proof of what they class as the outer boundary to your properties. Figgy

Mine patterned well at 56 yards with the 42g BB 3 1/2" carts,But past this it started to open out a bit. Fantastic choke and cart combo, the kicks mod is designed to shoot BB's well and does. Figgy

Yes that's fitted as per uk standard spec, the other one is included to make it one in magazine for clay shooting. Figgy

Tell them to add a few extra thousand and buy a nice gun. For what you already have, anything shooting related is either cheaper presents or too expensive for your budget. You could get a nice Damascus hammer gun wall hanger. Have a Diamond or Ruby end bead commissioned for your favourite gun. Figgy

As above I have done this in the past a lot and it is surprising. The big one for me was next to no difference in plaswad to fibrewad in the same make. Some tighter chokes blew a hole in the pattern and had some very uneven patterns. Found 1/4 to 3/4 best Figgy
