Absolutely. I can't fathom this sort of behaviour, but it goes on all the time. I know a bloke who shoots regularly, mostly rabbits and pigeons, but rooks too in season. He never eats anything he shoots - he can't even be ***** to bring 'em back for me. I've asked him; he just shrugs. Some people are only in it for the shooting and the dog work, not the eating. Whatever floats your boat, I guess...

I'm a big humbug about these so-called sports. To me, a sport is only a sport if you don't count the points. Think about it - would you consider someone who asked how many everyone had hit after each drive to be a sportsman? I certainly wouldn't! To me, as soon as you start competing against others, sport becomes competition, and that ruins it. Just my tuppneworth... *puts on asbestos pants*

I prefer roast saddle of hare to roast beef. Off the top of my head, I can't think of a nicer meat.

I remember starting a thread about this a while ago, and the conclusion was that ferals carry many mites and things in their feathers, but they're fine to eat. Just like rats For what it's worth, I'd eat one but I'd wear gloves while dressing it.

Anyone else get caught in the rain? I managed about an hour walking in it, then a nice drive home just as the puddles started to join together into floods! Great fun after all that sunshine, but I bet there are a lot of unhappy people out there with water damage &c.. Still, my plants liked it!

That law only applies to livestock - i.e. not to wild animals. You can still bury deer offal, covids &c. as long as you do it properly (e.g. a proper dead pit).

Been there, done that. Superglue was used during Vietnam as a field dressing for wounds, and it works nicely. The only problem is that it's slightly toxic... But you're not meant to get it inside wounds anyway, only around them to hold 'em closed. But, the real secret to quick healing is a ******* sharp knife! Also, cuts from carbon steel heal quicker than stainless (true fact - surgeons don't use stainless scalpels). I've been wearing a home-made splint for the past few days, because I managed to cut my finger just on the bend, so when ever I move it it opens the cut up :< . Never fear; half a pencil and some duct tape will save the day! :(
