    Zeroing

Could anyone give me advice on zeroing in my air rifle with my Walther 6x42 scope. Is there a certain distance to set it up from the target or do you just start close and work your way out to the average range you want to shoot? Any advice welcome
  5. John Boy Experience always wins- I have done it myself Next time hold whole bird firmly with wings tucked in with right hand and then gently twist the neck with your left hand until you feel/hear a slight click/ripping of the muscle. The bird will then be dispacthed properly rather than having a headless body Well done on your first bird
  6. Sorry Dibbz- This is what a real wild brown trout looks like in Scotland at 12lb - it's teeth are sharp as tacks and it fights like !! forever Tinto Trout Fishery South Lanarkshire Glad you are enjoying the fishing and have been 'hooked'- Keep going and tell the missus that you are escaping the Dragon to catch a Monster. If nothing else she will throw you out and then you can fish to your hearts content

    Roast Beef!

Did not know whether to feel sorry for the farmer's loss or laugh my head off at the Article with quotes like 'beef farmer felt numbness' and 'vet took blood samples to verify they were struck by lightning'. For any favour, the singe marks, eyes popped out their head and BBQ sauce should have been enough for the vet to see they were struck down by the Big Fella upstairs
  8. South Lanarkshire says welcome But gives you 'Nil Point' oops throught this was the Eurovision
  9. Thanks for all the PMs and request for information. Had a lot of interest from all over the UK and 2 new guns have joined. Space left for 6 guns although with interest and people coming to view, expect theses spaces may go in the next 2 weeks. PM me if you are interested or wish to join. Thanks Andy
  10. Went stalking with my mate at 3am yesterday morning for stags (out of Season permission) on 700 acres of forest. Took the following pictures which show the tremendous scenery we have here in Scotland. Oh yes and we were successful, I spotted 2 stags and my mate dispatched one . Only downside to all of this was the 1.5 mile manual pull out of the carcass.

    Midges

I fish in Caithness each year where the wee b***ers bite like blazes . Was put onto Expedition Insect Repellant which works a treat for me! http://www.firstaid4travel.co.uk/shop/info_TRV0097.html Failing which a pair of gloves on the hands, long sleeve shirt and the Highlander micro headnet is the only option http://www.highlander-outdoor.com
  12. There are probaly plenty of Shoots near to you and you just have not heard about them. The trick is getting out and about to see them even if it involves volunteering as a beater for a season. I returned to shooting 2 years ago and went onto NOBS (National Organisation for Beaters and Pickers Up) web site and place a request to Beat and have not looked back since. I discovered 5 Shoots in the area that I was previously unaware of as they do not like to publicise and allow the antis to disrupt. Good luck
