  1. Hello mate, welcome. I been joined on pigeon watch years ago and vanished. At the time everyone seemed to be from up north - many miles away and no one in Kent hardly... Lets see if the kent boys do exist - I have only just re-joined posting, hoping to meet with some of you guys real soon Dave
  2. As title says, I am new to the air rifle seen. I ve done shotgun and FAC. Ive recently moved to air rifles and wondered if there are clubs, people near by that get together and shoot near Maidstone kent. thanks in advance guys Dave
  3. Hi Guys, I know this forum is mainly for Feild sports but thought I would ask, I am looking for a Target Rifle, SINGLE SHOT, BOLT ACTION like anschutz, Walther that has front and rear dioptor sights. Preferably with an adjustable cheeck plate and Adjustable in lengthy Butt Plate. I know it might seem alot to ask, Ive missed a couple of good deals on guntrader so I know they are there to be had. Many thanks Dave
  4. Right lads, On the 23rd March I handed in my FAC application at Maidstone in Kent I received a telephone call today for a visit on the 15th April 2010. So hopefully things will be all ok, at least they are on the move. Dave
  5. Do you belong to a target club? If so, do they go to Bisley? If they do you can use an 8 shot - 14 shot shotgun their providing the club suppoprts your application. Once you have it, you can add it to recreational clay shooting as well. But you must add that. Dave
  6. I emailed BASC, they emailed back and informed me that protecting my hearing would be ample good reason. If they reject it to get a letter and then seek advice. So should be ok. Lets hope. Dave
  7. I put mine in on the 23rd March. They have not yet taken any money from me. I included a cheque for £50.00. I keep checking, I think it will be a few weeks yet. My shotgun cert took about 6 - 8 weeks. that was about 1 year ago. I ran it all down with references, target club letter, photos everything. Got them to give me a receipt. Lets hope its only about 30 days. awaiting the call to come and check the gun cabinet. Cheers
  8. Hi Guys, thanks for the replys. Thats what I was going to use, H&S for hearing. As for rifles, I have put down .22 308, I think I put down a 58 for black powder and .44/357 for a gallery rifle. Cheers Dave
  9. Hi Guys, I have asked for Moderators on my guns. For H&S reasons is this good enough. I only do target shooting. If any of you know of a good reason that will help please let me know. Cheers Dave
  10. Hi Vince, Thanks for the detailed reply. Yes at that moment I will purchase a used rifle. I have been attending the club for just about 12 months now.using a standard CZ bolt action rifle. Getting good results too. Cheers Dave
  11. Hi Guys, I have just applied for my FAC and I am really intersted in Target shooting. I already belong to a target club who will be supporting my application so I dont see an issue. So I am on the look out for a .22 rimfire Match rifle with rear sights for Bench, free standing rifle. Anschutz or similar. Dave
  12. Have a look here, http://www.nra.org.uk/ You should be able to find a target club for .22 but for others I think you will need to attend Lyd, or Bisley with a club. Cheers Dave
  13. Yes I did this with my shotgun application. Had no problems. I will do the same again Dave
  14. Ok heres the link where I got the cabinet Link to site for cabinet Yes I have the two referees and I will personally hand the forms in to the station in person. I will let you know how it goes. Regards Dave
  15. Hi Guys, I already have a shotgun. I have now passed my probation at a target club. So I ordered an Extra Deep RD7+ for £179 inc delivery which should be here Tuesday. Then on Monday I will send off the application to the police in Kent. Hopefully no problems so should sail through I hope. Dave
