  1. Mick These are a bit hard to come by as no aftermarket choke manufacturers sell them off the shelf. You might get someone like briley willing to make some to order for you but you will have to send one off for them to copy, or do what I did and get one of the tighter chokes(if you have them)bored out to what you want. I got Nigel Teague to do the full to a quarter for me. Failing that good luck in your search as they are an OK gun as had mine for 27 years. Cheers Roly

    Low lifes

Terry I am assuming this is at W*****. Scumbags. Probably spotted it from the road /footpath and for that reason unless youre 100% sure who stole it I wouldn't do the note thing. Unfortunately people will steal anything. I left a hide set up with 4 poles and an old army camo met on a shoot for all to use only for it to go missing in a week. I'd put a note on the hide as suggested and maybe if the thief returns they may feel guilty and return it. Mind you in todays society I doubt it
  3. Flip ups sound ok. If the prescription lens forms part of the frame just make sure that the frame will take a good range of prescription powers.ie thickness of lens as some out there are OK but only if you are slightly visually challenged and will not accomodate the japanese sniper type lenses. Just for comparison I checked with 3 different opticians for cost of prescription lenses in the RX frames and they were specsavers £39.00 Boots £75.00 Privately owned £70.00. How can the costs be nearly double Specsavers v's Boots!!!! If the ones you looked at include the prescription @ £49.99 then these are great value. I think doyle sports do something similar.
  4. Just bought a pair of ESS ICE off the bay for £13.50 came with grey tint, yellow & clear lenses all packed in a pouch. Also got the RX frames for prescription lenses that fit on the nose piece for £7.50 and Specsavers will put single vision lenses in them for £39.00. As I also need safety specs for work hopefully they will pay for them!!! Sorted. The ESS ones I think are MOD issue so ballistic tested.
  5. Had my E Rizzini for 27 years from new.done me fine but almost impossible now to find aftermarket chokes for as none of the major manufacturers sell them. Recently had the full choke bored to a quarter by Mr Teague. I may also still have the parts explosion diagram somewhere if you want a copy.
  6. Another fantastic pic Doc. Seen a couple of these this year in Herts.
  7. Cant match that! but those tool stalls at markets where they have a £1 on the table bit, you can normally pick up a pack of 6 for a quid. just the right size
  8. Hey Billy how you doing? There a whole raft of vids on Youtube. One of the guys uses the mirror tinting film you use to bling your motors windows up with. A lot lighter than carrying around half a dozen full length bathroom mirrors!!
  9. Keep your eye out on guntrader Terry. Just had a look and theres only a single barrel one for under £200 which is in devon and £110.00. All the rest over £399, hopefully someone on here can do you a good turn. I'll keep me eye out for you as well Cheers
  10. Hi Terry great to hear as always the youngsters getting involved in the sport. I bet you was over the moon with Tims first results. Sounds like he is going to be a natural, great going considering he is using a .410. Most of us struggle with 28g of shot let alone the 14-16g you get with the .410 I have no doubt that with a Grandpa like your good self he'll master it in no time. Whats all this crayfish hunting I hear about? Have you given up on the pigeons then! Soon you'll be trying to net the woodies! Best regards Lee
  11. Hi Terry hope you are well. From my numerous years on Verulam Angling Club fisheries committee the crayfish hotspot was always their Riverside Road fishery in St Albans which was running alive with the bloody things. As they burrow into the banks this was also causing major bankside erosion, they supposedly come in from the Ver which flows into the lake and the nature reserve next door. At their peak you could expect 6-800 crayfish every few days! Not sure of the situation now as not been involved for a few years now, but you would never be able to eradicate them as the young could easily avoid the nets.We used to find the young burrowed into the pierced cans of cat food they used to bait them with. Sweetcorn is quite effective as well. Happy hunting. Cheers Lee
  12. Can also get yourself some cheap garden netting (Wilkos). Stake that out over the crop with bamboo canes and then sit your shells on top. you can leave the short sticks in and just poke the sticks through the netting to stop em blowing about. Then when your done for the day just grab the netting by the corners pick the lot up and back to your hide to sort out! Cheers Roly
  13. If you don't get any joy on here try the bsa gun owners club bsaog.co.uk and look up a guy called "tench" he may be able to help. Cheers Roly
  14. Stubby Have a look on here www.robives.com/mechs- it might give you some ideas for alternative/ additional methods of movement. Maybe you can get it to peck, add some wings for a flap then a bit of a waddle. I've thought about trying to make a more realistic flapper than those demented ones on the market but the mechanics of a real flapping wing are extremely complex and trying to replicate this is nigh on impossible unless you have a degree in robotics and electronics. Good luck with your project and keep your pecker up!
  15. I bet its a bit difficult lamping on that innit! Welcome to PW
  16. Edd Review in Gunmart if of any interest http://www.gunmart.net/gun_review/midland_gun_co_demon_semi-auto/ Cheers Roly
  17. Edd Purchased one of these second hand in mint condition 6 months ago as a pigeon gun, steel proofed, magnum etc Not used it that much but cycles 28gm no problem never jammed etc. Manufacturer is KRAL in turkey. Cheers Roly
  18. Welcome to PW David and for offering another channel of information to everyone. Cheers Roly
  19. There is also reference in an old Pigeon Shooting book I have by John Gray circa 1988 to pigeon shell decoys made out of real birds by plucking the feathers from the breast, cutting the skin along the breast bone and peeling back. Then remove the breast meat, the breast bone ribs and legs and remove the entrails. Now the best bit, paint the inside of the carcass with formaldehyde and leave for 4 weeks to cure! Another tip given is to spray them with Hairspray to keep them waterproof! I'm not kidding you it has a full step by step guide with a shopping list and pictures as well.
  20. Nice one Sometimes it pays to go with your instincts and move. I'd be well pleased with a bag like that at the moment
  21. Welcome to the club I joined the brotherhood with a 10 x 12 a few years back, full of man stuff now but I have my regrets as should have gone "swedish log cabin"
  22. There seems to be quite a few "escapees" out there in the wild. When you said it didn't respond to any calls but seemed happy, did you try "Whose a pretty boy then" I find this sometimes provokes a response!!!
  23. Make your own from steel pallet banding and attach to suitable sized green cane sticks, bamboo or lengths of 6mm dowell. Cut the banding lengthways so you have strips of approx 6mm wide bend into Z shape and attach to sticks by cutting the ends, inserting the banding approx 3cms and secure with insulating tape. Dependant on the shells you have. (Mine have two slits in the top) you just thread the top of the Z shape banding through the two slits to secure to the shell. If you only have one slit make another with a sharp knife or wood chisel whilst resting on a block of wood. Cheap as chips and gives the back and forth motion in the wind and also the side to side wobble like the decoy is walking and pecking. Works for me Cheers
