  1. Hi, Was walking round bewl water today trying to find the water it is incredibly low! With the amount of shots I could hear some people were having some good sport. Anyone that's on here? Dave. Before I'm corrected I am aware it on the edge of Kent! Lol
  2. Sounds a fab and funny day!! Wish I could go out the wife has me decorating!!!
  3. Will get the hang of this one day !! Love the lay in the sunshine comment!!
  4. Thanks for the advice everyone I will be using a shotgun and have some stealth netting! Thanks once again!!
  5. I have recently got a permission with a large wood about 18 acres and wanted some advice how to shoot the pigeons that go in and out. What is the best way to set up in the woods? I have never done roost shooting but would know how to spot the tell tale signs ie feathers etc . I would like to try to shoot at different times of the day the woods are surrounded by fields and a few cover crops also the odd pond. Any advice would be much appreciated! Dave.
  6. I was under a flight line the other day and I have never seen so many birds not big flocks I grant you but lots of smaller groups of say 10 to 12 birds but it was a constant stream the ones I did manage to shoot were very plump and full of ivy berries. I also noticed lots of pairs.
  7. How many of you have shot a pigeon in the air and it's come down in a tree and stayed up the tree? Had my first one today!
  8. Now that's where those pigeons went!!
  9. I had that Sunday big combine 2 tractors and trailer turned up to cut rest of the wheat. Then he said carry on shooting I looked round and thought well I won't put up what I thought!!
  10. Thanks for the advice and what I didn't mention was deer are shot on this land so a fac must be allowed on it! Sorry about slip I have been using the .22 air rifle for the squirrels already but miss and their gone! What is the quietest option thinking about not scaring the game ?
  11. Hi, Please could I have some advice I have a shotgun and a .22 air rifle if I wanted to progress to a fac what do I need to do I have the land but have never been interested. I recently got a new Permission which is 700 acres not sure it's passed for fac but it's very hilly which I would have thought was a good sign. I am after rabbits squirrels and foxes. I can't use the shotgun as it's a game shoot so its either rely on the air rifle and forget the foxes or go for something that can do the job properly. Sorry if the comments are naive but although I've been shooting for over 30 years I have only been involved with shotguns and air rifles. Any advice would be appreciated.
  12. Met up at 9 sorted paperwork and then taken round permission couldn't believe the amount of rabbits and crows going to have a good time here. Now I've got to make sure I look after this permission!!!
  13. Thanks for all your comments I am meeting gamekeeper tomorrow at 9 am so he can show me around will update I have more to add!
