  1. I wouldn’t with a 22 lr or any 17 I may take out a 22 hornet or 222 if the must be shot but most likely I’d use a shotgun.
  2. I’ve got lumps of walnut off cuts if your local you can have dig through.
  3. Old oil dirty/dust and unburnt powder needs a clean.
  4. Thanks I was thinking of a 10 or 12l tank to be honest maybe a 7l. That way I can use it for work as well.
  5. Thanks WalkedUp 😂 The kids do enjoy the air rifles and I must admit I enjoy shooting with the kids just as much. It’s the constant pumping that my back protests at. I’m looking for a tank now as the compressors don’t seem to offer that bigger advantage.
  6. Shoot where you look is just another way of say where you’re pointing and is like many phrases in common usage part of our sloppy use of the English language. The more experienced a shooter get the more tolerant they are of having the eye higher over the rib. This comes with experience knowing where the gun points in relation to the eye.
  7. It could quite easily be you, your neck, face, shoulder, arm etc may not have been produced to the manufacturers design spec or tolerances for a shooter. Gun fit is personal and the reason you’re have your gun fitted is to achieve the pattern landing where your looking (not aiming) and the pattern is distributed where you want it (60/40, 70/30 etc). I’m somewhat surprised you’re gunfitter didn’t explain this
  8. Please PM me some details I’m still trying to work out the best method but the pump needs replacing, try to convince work they need a compressor and a couple of big bottles for events.
  9. As the 2 guns the kids shoot run at 6 fpe I get a few more shots per fill about 60. ive got 3 ultras and a scorpion. NSRA will fill a tank for £5 when there compressor system has been refreshed in the next few weeks.
  10. It a case did I fire 5 or 15 shots last week, not big numbers as you say but spread over a time frame where I have more important numbers to think about.
  11. The kids shot 750 ish pellets at the weekend so a fair amount and I’m very happy they are both engaged. £200 for a compressor over the £150-200 for a tank seems sensible. Nearest place is 20mins away for refills but if the NRSA shop fills tanks at Bisley that about 500m from the office.
  12. What compressor are people using just had a look and there’s a few on Amazon look to be from China but I expect most are.
  13. That’s got me thinking of a small pony bottle to top up the ultra when out if needed, then fill the rifles of the compressor at home.
  14. Hi guys I’m thinking of getting a diving tank to fill my growing habit of PCP guns. What sort of size do people recommend or is a compressor more worth while?
  15. I’ve seen them by Lanes I think it was do regulators as well.
  16. Going to have to do 2 now as I got myself a 177 to try always used 22 but people tell me 177 is better now with PCP and set at 12 fpe
  17. Thank you looks simple I’d imagined drilling the cylinder and fitting the gauge in the forend.
  18. A friend has asked me to help him fit an air gauge to his BSA Ultra (original MMC type). Has anyone done this and got any advice? Im very happy working on powder burning guns as I fully understand the pressure etc. however air cylinders are fairly new to me and 230 bar is enough to hurt someone so drilling it concerning with out a proven plan. So PW massive air gun crew what the view.
  19. The pups where born today still working on the vet the receptionist has been blocking the path! They have a call with the vet tomorrow to try and make arrangements. Im glad I stick to labs with all the hassle!
  20. Thanks guys this is becoming a bit of a nightmare for the lady concerned, she wants a certain type of (no the norm) spaniel and her partner wants her to work it with his other dogs a couples activity. She’s been let down for a pup a few times and this time all looks good, how ever all the other pups are going to show homes so won’t have docked tails.
  21. Meadow Lane will only do it for existing gun dog clients! So as they dams owner is new to the area they won’t help. Never having had a docked dogs (labs only for me) I can understand why vets won’t do this and save a dog pain whilst it’s out working. Am I missing something?
  22. Hi guys I’ve a friend try to get a Spaniel puppy’s tail docked in the Loughborough area, she struggling to find a vet who will do it has anyone got any recommendations? The pup is due to be born next week so time is of the essence.
  23. I’m not sure why I need a set of these but they look useful so just ordered a pair 🙈
  24. My thoughts exactly I expected to see a gun with lots of cast that photo didn’t look that much.
