  1. ITEMS NO LONGER FOR SALE Sorry have removed these from sale as rules above, as to be advertised on well know auction site Bring on requests to deliver to the moon on a stick for free !!
  2. Hi Shaun Fair point but have had issues both buying and selling on a certain auction site with couriers and damage in transit, hence face to face only. Kept the price as a fair one (IMHO) for the lads n lasses on here, sure could get more on an auction site but will also get bombarded with messages " will you post to the moon " etc ! As you say they are great traps for both club and just a few mates.
  3. Having clear out so looking to sell my Farey Carousel type automatic Clay trap. Not sure of the model number but it is the 240 Volt type so it has bundles of throwing power. These are not new traps but sturdy, well made English traps and not the flimsy old junk you see for sale so often. It has a carousel on the top and guards, is fully automatic and has a long command lead on a drum. It has adjustable height and has ' Renold ' gears - google them for info about reliability. It's not new but in good working condition. The cable has a few nics but nothing to worry about. It is heavy and presently bolted to a pallet, two people can lift it though. It holds 12 stacks so will go for ages without re-loading, perfect for club use of just a few of you (Two of us use it fine). Ready to run but would benefit from a service. Has been kept well greased. Not a lot else to say really so if you have any questions or want specific pictures pm me. It is located in the OX13 post code area (Oxfordshire) and is for the buyer to collect. I am looking for £650, sorry not interested in swaps - trying to clear out much needed space ! This sale is to be conducted in strict compliance with the T's and C's of PW as pinned above.
  4. Excellent, cheers chaps will post up tonight Thanks
  5. Hi HDAV Been here over 5 years ! What's a guy gotta do ? Sorry should have been clearer - doesn't really fit in any of the sections Cheers
  6. Hi All. Hoping for a steer but am having a clear out and looking to sell my trap but cant see where to place it in the ' For Sale', do I list here or elsewhere? Advice greatly appreciated. Cheers
  7. Another thought would be to sell it as a whole, albeit clearly stating it's defects and that it's for parts only ? Is that ' not the done thing ' ? Would there be any liability to consider or equally would this cause problems with the FLO as I'm about up for renewal and wouldn't want to jeopardise that. Any experience of this ? Looked through ' Trading Post ' here but all for sale are fully working.
  8. Cheers all, do you think its worth a call to the FLO just to see ?
  9. I have an old (80's) WInchester Model 101 12 guage that developed a bulge in one of the barrels !! Naturally, just sat in the cabinet and not used since I noticed it. I want to know if I can sell this off in parts as some are hard to find in teh UK and it might help someone out who has a battered one - things like stocks and forends are notoriously hard to find even in the USA. Is this permitted and if so how do I go about this keeping the FLO happy ? Advice greatly received cheers
  10. If it was road legal and some stage as suggested by the remnants of a reg plate it sould also have a tax disk somewhere which may give you the full reg of it. I would guess a call to DVLA with this might help ? As Highbird said there shoudl also be a chassis plate on my Honda its more liek a tag than a car vin plate under the body panels affixed to the frame. Ask the seller for the V5 etc ? As for the penalty well I guess they woudl take it off you so you loose what ever you spend on it as a minimum, not sure if you would be charged with an offence but of you were any gun or FA licencing would be troublesome I feel ! A quad for moving gear over the fields is awesome, less time lugging and more time shooting.
  11. @ Kegs : Cheers mate loads of work went into her .....the new project is....... a Polaris Ranger. We have just got a load more land about 1000 acres which we used now and again but have now got sole rights for a year (for a fee). We are planning to get small amount of partridges, some clay and lamping/stalking going on and feel that this will be the next step up. As we (between us) have several shoots that are spread across the county (Oxfordshire) with some at opposite sides we can only afford 1 shoot vehicle so need something that covers all bases and can be towed depending on where we go. We did consider keeping the quad and buying cheap 4x4 and leave it at the new shoot but ther farmer wasnt happy about it being left there and has had bad experiences with landies being used on his land before. He was happy for a quad to be used and also for a Polaris size vehicle. @Martin & Oakley : Good suggestion bud, one we did consider soem time back. I think had we been keeping it we would definatly have done something along those lines. As you can see from the pic below, it would be easy to do as due to the colours of the quad you would only need to camo the back where you stand to maintain cover as the quad blends in nicely ( small hide behind in pic). The indicators on teh front are the only 'obvious' item yet this is a small trade off I feel for having the quad Road Legal. It's on a V5 as a Light Agricultural Vehicle so it is free road tax and no formal MOT required - bonus. Is there a For Sale section on PW ? Seen some reminders not to advertise in this section so am a little confused. I dont really want to put it on flea-bay as feel it woudl be better appreciated by a true hunter/shooter. I will be getting it in some shooting mags too.
  12. Well still not made any enhancements but have finally managed to get some time out ! This is when it really comes into it's own :- And room for one more ! Think she's gotta go......the co-owner convinced me on another project !
  13. LOL I kinda agree but...... or :- I know which Id choose A real benefit is when you set up and there is not much about so you can easily and quickly move elsewhere and like I started with we do a lot of lamping so it really helps.
  14. Hi Alex Just my thoughts but me and a mate **** about with a cheapo jap or Chinese quad that had electrical issues and ended up getting rid. We are not electrically trained so be mindful of that when reading ! After struggling to id even the make and then the engine/model number it took an age to find spares for it. Eventually did (have link if you need it) and ended up spending a fair bit (more than we paid for the quad). In the end we sold it a got a honda foreman and never looked back. I know these are dearer but they are solid, powerful and spares readily available a reasonably priced. There are usually some old uns on the bay if you are patient. Even old high mileage ones can be fixed up and it is a damn site easier to fix up a Honda rather than an un-known jap one. What we did learn was that many un named ones are honda engine clones but everso slightly different. These are just our experiences and I don't wanna start a big debate with folks on here about whats good and whats bad..there are some top jap quads out there that are cheaper than hondas but that is for a reason! Also hondas etc also go wrong so its a personal call. We found that it was hassle getting bits even once ID the model and that we were in danger of spending a lot of money refreshing a quad of limited value and questionable durability IMHO. Re-sale value of even an older honda (I would expect) be better than a similar age/condition jap one. Do you know what model you have ?
  15. Again cheers for the help. Only worry with the hoop/frame idea is that you may be limited on floor area in the hide as the trailer just takes the quad. Had considered this a while back yet recently thought of fixing poles to one side of the quad so you stand on the ground with trailer behind a kinda canopy affair off the side We could then use the trailer(which will be covered if poles are on other side to store stuff on. As this is jointly owned between me and mate the hide needs to be big enough for two and a dog. Suggestions very welcome as wanna make this once and not keep changing it!! HDAV cheers for the can holder link....handy site now bookmarked. Looking at it and remembering co owner is a blacksmith......... I feel he has a late night coming on!!
