Thanks for replies , got round problem in the end bought some wood dowels 1cm thick ,cut to size , drilled out centre and pushed out top spike on lofting bracket araldited it in place so now can use a normal full body decoy , just need to get out and try them ,

Missed going last year be good to get it on again , we have a good little local one to us at quy near Cambridge missed that being on as well

Yes thanks that makes sense , can see where the cross section would fit , guess there are different decoys for those holders , cheers

When I try it the top of the bracket goes in the decoy halfway and just flops all over the place feel like it should be twice as long to come out off the top to hold decoy level that’s what made me think need a certain decoy ?

Hi all hope everyone is safe and well toying with the idea of getting a few lofted decoys for when I’m under tress on flightlines , looking at the brackets which hold the decoy - hook with weight at bottom and a small cross at top to attach the decoy , my question is do you need a special decoy for these as I dont see how my normal decoys will fit this as in peg normally goes through the body and out the top , to me looks like the top spike needs to be twice as long ? Am I being dim here or missing something? Thanks

Was out today on osr just starting to get a few on it , not a lot of shooting ! Set up with decoys and couple floaters but all that was about were largish groups of 30/40 flighting over far side - so moved ! Ended up with a dozen from sitting under flight line wouldn’t decoy in at all , cold crisp day bit of snow about but a cracking day to be out we’ve not got any numbers to speak of yet but this cold snap might help

Was out this morning, farmer saying they were starting to hit the rape, set up by 8 o’clock , magnet and decoys but afraid to say still nothing really moving here , handfull of shots few flighting over but no numbers at all you can see where they have been picking just have to keep an eye open might be the start of it , I hope anyway , havnt seen the usual numbers at all still was a lovely morning to be out

If that was a landrover / jaguar dealer I’d well believe it , you’re talking around the £90 mark an hour for labour so thats about right , on ramp wheel off tyre off replace valve then back on inflate back on car x five ,

No build up of any numbers on anything here at present , Suffolk / Cambs border , woods still holding them here got some fields of rape on permission but no pigeons on them

If the pigeons are in the mood they will decoy to anything never really heard of a bad decoy , for me as long as they are the right shape and have that flash of white they will work , bit of movement is good ,
