  1. Hi Guys A few weeks ago some very unpleasant people broke into my home and made off with my 5 shotguns. Although I can replace most of these easily I can't find a Beretta 626 Onyx S/S. Is there anyone out there who would like to sell me theirs?
  2. Hi, If you come off the M3 and follow the signs to Marwell Zoo, go past Clayfields Caravan Sales, turn left at the next pub on the left. Follow the road for maybe 3 miles you will see the signs for clay shoot. I think it's called the Winchester Clay Club, thay shoot on the 3rd and 5th weeks. Good shooting -=Ron=-
  3. Hi Guy's I moved from north Hampshire (where there was loads of shooting) to Bournemouth 15 years ago. If you strike an arc of 60 miles around the town, half of it is in the sea, not a lot of shooting there. Ive found a few shoots in Dorset on Saturday's and Sunday's but they are either not a lot of cop or to be honest I've got a bit bored with them. So I'm looking to travel into Hampshire a bit deeper to find alternatives. I know of Chalky Hill on 2nd & 4th weeks and that's about it. Don't be frightened of a bit more competition, let me know of all your local shoots as I'd love to give them a try.
  4. I too am left eye dominent and shoot off the right. I tried all manner of things including easy fit, that did work to a degree. It wasn't untill I started shooting Move/Mount/Shoot (John Bidwell style) that I realized that left eye problems only occur if you are looking down the gun. This style does require a good gun fit and consistent mounting, all you do is look at the clay, never the gun. If it fits correctly the gun will point where your looking and your brain sorts out the lead. I have been shooting this style for about 3 months and my score has increased from about 70% to mid 80's and it's improving as I get better at it. Don't dispare at Southern Counties, most of the time the traps are set up for their Olympic selection competions and are a bit of a challenge for anyone.
  5. Hi, I own a Villa in Bodrum and will find out what I can when I go over again in May. The Turkish people are shooting mad hence there isn't much wild life left to shoot. I guess the only option left to them is clay shooting. I know one of the prestigous complexes shoot clays, possibly many more. I will post my findings on my return. Ron
  6. When I challenged a shoot about the exclusive use of their own named brand the reason given was that it was a condition of the planning consent, as these cartridges fell within the acceptable noise level. The shoot is close to Thruxton Racing circuit!! Another shoot quite openly stated that selling their own brand only helped to keep the overall cost of running the shoot down. No one has the balls to mention "Profit"
  7. Thanks for that, I did try the dirty 2 doz some time ago but didn't really enjoy it there. I am interested in the Clay cafe do we have better directions.
  8. Hi, I live in Dorset and always shoot at the following grounds 1st Sunday - 3 Lions at Ferndown 2nd Sunday - Somerley at Ringwood 3rd Sunday - No known local shoot 4th Sunday - Manor Farm at Verwood 5th Sunday - No known local shoot Does anyone know of any other shoots within 20 miles of Bournemouth as I'm getting a bit bored going to the same places.
