  1. Thanks a lot 1 of 5,i contacted them earlier today and they were VERY helpful
  2. Hiya, does anyone happen to have a link to somewhere i can get spare parts for my Logun Domin8or,namely a new shroud. As my good lady wife saw fit to knock my gun over in MY cupboard, then proceeded to try to close the door on the barrel.Response-"Oh,i didn't see it" :< Thanks
  3. Thanks lads, its a method i've used lots of times before and if there are any crows or mags in the vicinity it works every time, although not always as quick as it did this time. Thanks for your comment Mike,i realised after posting that it wasn't the best title :*) .I thought if anyone was going to criticise,it would be the title that got picked up on.Unfortunately, while i could edit the post,i couldn't change the title.Your comment has been duly noted though, and labelled "for future reference".
  4. :< Beezer,i'd be surprised if the guts stay in the tree for 30mins as these magpies will testify. What do you suggest i do,put them in a bag and take them home?Do you know anyone who does that???Throw them on the ground for "some anti"(who would be trespassing)to trip over?? If i hadn't shot these two mags they would have had a very nice feast,as their brethren no doubt did after i left.Is there anything wrong with that? This is what i have always done and you are the first person who has complained. Are you a scouser in disguise?Get a grip and stop finding fault! Kdubya,i was offered a ticket for the match on friday night but i thought i was going to get a good days sport....gutted. They were actually photo'd in my outhouse on lino, laminate flooring lookie-likey(cleaned up with antibacterial wipes afterwards).Still waited till the wife was out though
  5. Went out today with my air rifle for a change, the plan being to shoot woodies in my favourite "resting" wood.Got there and the wind got up straight away(just my luck)which made killing the woodies clean nigh on impossible in the treetops.Leaving the wood i crossed paths with an unfortunate bunny who's last memory is of an Air Arms Field travelling at 600fps towards its head.I took the time to paunch said bunny immediately and launched the guts up a tree and started walking again when i heard a group of maggies making their usual racket,so i hid myself and waited for a bit,30-35yds away from the guts.Sure enough it wasn't long before the maggies were jumping around in the "gut" tree,i let them settle and drew a bead on the first maggie, which fell to a headshot, the rest of the startled maggies went mad when one of their brethren bit the dust, but they didn't move far enough away(for them).Dropped another with a shot to the neck which ended my fun cos the rest nicked off after that.Anyway, got back to the car 45mins after leaving it and listened to the Toon beat Liverpool, which sealed a good day considering.Been a good day for Mags, hehe. http://www.hunt101.com/img/260880.jpg http://www.hunt101.com/img/260878.jpg
  6. Its Accupels for me,i keep a stash of AA field which i use if i run out they are a v.good pellet but i find i can shoot tighter groups with accupels. Has anyone tried the Dynamic air bullets?I have four boxes which came in a job lot of stuff i bought but i haven't tried them yet.
  7. I agree,my ferrets are too valuable to me to use on rats.I use an old strimmer engine with a pipe on the exhaust, fill up with petrol overdosed with 2 stroke, pipe in the hole and give it full throttle, doesnt take too long for mr ratty to make an appearance only to find a pack of rather excited terriers waiting for some excercise.
  8. I work on a farm and i caught a knobhead catching the local population of bullfinches with one in a hawthorn copse. He had a tame cockbird in a box in an 8ft hawthorn tree and when sprung this net covered the whole tree.Legged it when he saw me coming but my dog had him cowering before too long.Released 27 bullfinches, including his tame one, burned his trap and shall we say he "got a good talking to". :<
  9. What part of the country is that reddeer? It looks cracking terrain(don't worry i don't want the farmers number, haha).I do my shooting in Northumberland and i shoot a couple of places that look very similar.
  10. My ferret "recreation centre".Its usually full of pipes and ropes and other stuff but its all manky with all the wet weather we've had so its all been removed for cleaning.
  11. I always feed my ferrets paunched whole rabbits or fully feathered woodies, feathers can be a pain but they keep the ferrets occupied. Can't get my ferrets to put weight on with dried food or cat food. p.s thats a snowball in the bottom, not an egg(my young son saw it and came running in to tell me the ferrets had laid an egg, haha)
  12. 31 over rape today, cropped about half of them, various quantities of OSR and wheat(stubbles about 1 mile away). South East Northumberland
  13. Yeah,i've got one as well, its mounted on my domin8or at the mo.Good piece of kit for the money(£60+£10 postage,Ebay).I got it for lamping and have had no probs at all.
  14. Gun-£275,scopes-£80,pump-£100 give or take depending on make, case say£30. Total £485approx. I would give £250-£300 depending on the damage, obviously if its too bad i wouldn't buy at all.
  15. Thats what i find amusing,9 times out of 10 the problems with the s16 are user errors but they slag the gun to their mates, they tell their mates then all of a sudden the gun is sh#t and slagged off by people who have never used one,let alone owned one.I'm not saying the gun is perfect, far from it,it does have issues(O rings for example),its just far better than people make out.(in my opinion of course). p.s anyone wanna but one??
  16. I've got a Logun s16 and i love it,i know they have their faults and aren't everyones cup of tea but once you get used to the quirks they are a cracking hunting tool.My only fault with the gun is its a bit too heavy (9 1/2+ lbs)for walking long distances.Which is why i have just bought a Domin8or(off this site as it happens),i was supposed to go out with it last night but if you have read my earlier thread, you'll know that i didn't.Had a bit of plinking today and was impressed,i'll let you know more when i've given it a good go.
  17. Sorted, got up this morning and took my rifle to work(on a farm).Got the rifle out and it was totally empty so i refilled it and abracadabra......no leak .I can only think that there must have been a bit of dust,or maybe a bit of the adapter seal trapped in the valve. My only concern now is that the bit of whatever it was is now in my air cylinder, but i'll cross that bridge when i come to it.
  18. Its not a removable bottle(although you can remove it,you don't have to to fill it),its the push in,quick fill type, like the Webley Raider
  19. Hiya everyone,i was charging my Logun Domin8or up tonight with my stirrup pump while chatting to my bruv(not a shooter),ready for a session lamping.I nipped to the loo and my bruv said"i'll finish that".When i came back down he had finished and had removed the quick fill adapter without bleeding it first :< .Now there is a hissing at the fill hole and the bottle is losing pressure and the yellow O ring round the end of the adapter is split in half.I have spare O rings but does anyone out there know what the problem may be with the bottle and how i can possibly remedy it? Moral:Never let a poxy dips#*t touch your stuff,no matter how clever he thinks it is!!!!
  20. I started doing a lot of lamping this year and i wanted a scope with an illimunated reticle so i bought a new scope off ebay for £70 all in,its a Seben Black Anaconda 4-12x56.It has IR with 11 different brightness settings.Hadn't heard much about them before but i find it a v.descent scope in low light.I use Bushnell 3-9x40's for my daytime hunting cos they are a lot more compact and are an excellent scope.
  21. I use a Breda 3 shot auto for deeking cos its nice and short and easy to handle.Lanber o/u for most other shooting.
  22. I try to use clear pigeon 30g 6's all the time, they're a cracking cartridge,if not i find Express Special Pigeon 32g 6's a v.good substitute,a bit more **** in the barrels but they are cleaned after every trip anyway so why worry.
  23. No matter how expensive or realistic they look,plastic/rubber deeks will never look as good to the pigeons as the real thing. After every session i stick about 6 woodies in my chest freezer to start the next session with(discarded afterwards). When i set them out i keep them together distance apart depending on windstrength, the stronger the wind the closer together i set them(seems to work for me),and i usually put 2 or 3 artificials about 30yds behind my pattern because they stand out a lot better and they lead the birds to my pattern. As birds are shot they are added to the pattern, when i feel the pattern is big enough i remove the artificials. The more birds i have out,the more suicidal the woodies get until it gets to the point i don't even pick them unless they are clipped or lying belly up.I'm no pro and i'm not trying to kid anyone into thinking days like this happen everytime i go out but they do happen and these are the days i try to achieve and i find the methods above work best for me.
  24. Did anyone know that a carrion crow can smell you long before it can see you??They can catch your scent from over 1km away .Just a titbit i read in a shooting mag.
