  1. No pics at present, will include it in the photo on its next outing mate.
  2. You did right by your old friend JDog, sometimes life is so cruel just remember the good times mate
  3. Well such a nice day today I decided to have a trot out with the Hushpower Started with a few pigeon decoys in front of one of my static hides, not much interest due to the shoot over the road plugging away at the Pheasants and making so much noise I should have packed the deeks away earlier but sat about not really wanting to move eventually had a walk around the hedgerows and bagged a few. Shot from the hide. Shot on the walk around. All fell to the little .410 Hushpower some very good shots and they fell stone dead, theres just something about that little gun that brings a smile to my face when I use it
  4. Well done PC that's an excellent bag of Corvids,BB
  5. Seems quite a few with subsonic cart experience agree with my original post, egh cookie monster!! That subs really don't justify the extra £ lol Why would anyone buy a cart with less power which costs more, over a cheaper cart that does a better job? And minimal noise difference.
  6. There you go shop bought subs ain't all there cracked up to be!I rest my case, waste of money!! IMHO. Stick with normal loads or home loads, maybe a tad noisier but kill better and cheaper to source.
  7. My reference was to shop bought subsonics!! I'm fully aware you can homeload a cartridge to a better spec than mass produced factory loads. Nice twist on words, but I still believe shop bought subs to be no better than normal loads and therefore a waste of money. At the end of the day I'm not geeky about data,I want a shell to stuff in the gun, pull the trigger, and it goes bang, the quieter the bang the better, but in my experience that ain't a subsonic! Just saying.
  8. My opinion mate, not misleading at all!As I said the noise difference between the two is minimal,so is it worth spending more on subsonic carts? NO in MY opinion!!
  9. I find the Baikal Hushpowers with the full length moderators are much better balanced and quieter than the mossies with the shorter moderators.
  10. Subsonics are a waste of money, down range the noise between subs and normal carts is minimal.
  11. I find in the.410 Hushpower normal carts are just as quiet as the subsonics. You need to listen to the noise at the target end,not the firing end. And stick a few shells through it,you need to get a build up of **** on the moderator to quieten things down.
  12. Nice offer mate, well done,I would have it but would probably blow my barrels lol,but someone's in for a nice freebie.
  13. Ha ha your correct but technically when it leaves the boundary of his land it is fair game, pardon the pun,and absolutely nothing he can do about it!
  14. Having the most expensive gun,and putting the most expensive carts through it,makes you a top shot! Come on lads I thought everyone knew that lol,BB
  15. Get yourself a perm bordering an established shoot, then get yourself up there on shoot days,it don't get any cheaper lol
  16. 28g of lead is 28g of lead figgy your absolutely correct mate, but the fancy printing on the cartridge and box must justify the price hike to them lol And just remember the more you spend on cartridges the better shot you become lol.
  17. Just in from work and sorted through my carts,I've found 2 box's of 32g 4 shot super steel shells from Gamebore. So probably Thursday or Friday will use them on the decoyed corvids and report back how effective they are,BB
  18. Think ive got a couple of boxes of steel kicking about left over from some duck shooting a few years back,32g 4's before I buy a slab might put these through the gun later in the week and see how they perform BB
  19. Have a read of "advice on steel shot please" in General shooting matters, post 11, paragraph starting with a "keeper friend of mine" you might find it interesting with regard of your shot going up suggestion
  20. PC, have you used steel in the past? and if so how do you rate them?
  21. Well lets hope so its enough hassle getting a licence renewed every five years, imagine the hassle of police holding guns/firearms would cause, not to mention the way they would be handled more than a few cabinet marks then I would be very very surprised if this ever happened, due to the logistics involved its a non starter in my opinion receipt/issue = more staff = money large secure gun rooms = money extra training = money
  22. From a localish gun shop to me,i did a quick search through the local shops cart lists on the net,it didn't specify shot size but they are listed as clay shells so I would imagine 7-71/2s but hey if they kill clean at sensible ranges who am I to argue at them prices. I can buy 3k steel for the same price as 2k lead and its mainly for corvid control at sensible decoying ranges so I guess its worth giving them a go at that price
  23. Once ive shot my current supply of carts,i think I will be picking up a slab of steel to see how it goes, if they are effective on decoyed crows/pigeons at normal decoying ranges, at £40 a slab it would be stupid not to
