  1. good one spud, nail em with a 22rf sounds good to me, don't know why you didn't use a shotgun at this range they are leathal to charlie too, hushpower wont wake the kids up! Dont like charlie much here either, he eats too many chickens for my likeing. good to hear that post
  2. I'm lookig to get one of these too or a similar gun, let me know if you have any info to share. sounds like we would be putting similar ammo through it.
  3. Thanks for your replies, the gun will be used for some general shooting of wildfowl, pest control, but will also need to be good for pigeon too. My budget probably wont stretch to a new 391 so I'm keen to hear about the sx3 as this is more competative on price. both take 3" shells I think. The gun will probably be the only semi I ever buy and will need to take the riggours of all conditions and perform relyably. I'm also in the market for a hushpower .410 pump, which I have some experience of. have you used one of these?
  4. I'm thinking of buying a new semi 12g camo, dont know which is best for me but like the look and features of the SX3, the AL391, etc. I'd like a 28" barrel, 14 3/4 stock, fairly straight, idealy section1. Anyone got anything to say about this type of gun, and its suitability, relyability, how it handles in the hide, etc?
  5. Shot size no 6 30g is good for most birds and smaller pests like bunnies too. Lead loaded cartridges are cheaper, and the only ones available with fibre. Plastic leaves more visible bits behind which some folk dont like, all steel shot is plastic wadding, but often faster, and often caries more shot. I use no 7.5 and 28g loads for clay shooting but I know some people go a lot lighter. These cartridges are very cheap and you can get duff ones occasionally. There are many variations on this topic tho. Hope this helps.

  9. oh bum, i've got a meeting tomorow with the rozzers re certificate ammendment, and the dentist. otherwise .............. loads of big flocks about at the moment, I'm iching to bag some. Wife looking foreward to de breasting them
  10. sounds like a great offer to me, sadly too far away. I guess the trouble most folks will have is distance, or other shooting waiting to be done-if they are lucky enough to have some. Good luck mate.
