I tried to get a few late entries in marsh man, last week. I was told they were not taking anymore but are holding another "Guns at Noon in June, such is the demand. I lived in Branston , just outside Lincoln in the mid eighties. He was a legend and a fantastic champion shot. Very well run business , always a pleasure to visit the gunshop.

Ditch , a very nice gun . I thought the side by side prices at the last auction were extremely low. I expect them to be the same this time round. I've bought quite a few guns from there, including a 16 bore SxS by T Clough of Kings Lynn, I was born in King's Lynn so simply had to buy it. T Wild are very nice especially at the kind of price you paid ! Well done.

Reminds me of yesteryear when some 12 bore guns were chambered for 2 inch cartridges only. Eley still make two inch carts 26g load in no.6

Horrible when a choke gets stuck. I've had this happen just twice. I solved one myself by sticking some WD 40 down the choke, the second one went off to the 'smith who warmed it up with a blow touch and out she popped with a little soft handling ! I followed his sage advice and now take the chokes out everytime i use these guns and wipe the choke and screw thread with Browning oil. Never had any trouble since. For me the moral of this tale is to clean them regularly or use fixed chokes saving the hassle. My three SxS guns have fixed chokes.

The best pheasant load i ever used in 28 bore was the Bornhagi semimag , 24g of no 7. shot. I bought a slab from Just Cartridges a few years ago. I don't think they stock Bornhagi anymore.

Before QT even started last night I watched the news and felt bedraggled. Then it started and Fiona Bruce had some sort of grip on the imbeciles on the panel. Next up some debate on the taffs not having any new roads in their beloved lands, because they's prefer fancy lunches more than roads. United Kingdom ? All for the greater good......? Scotland and Wales can make their own way as far as i'm concerned. Fed up with the bitching and moaning about the English (the huge majority) dragging everything down to gutter level. Take your own taxes and revenues and Westminster shoulds keep English money from taxes . See how you get on in the land of independence. See if the EU will accept your great countries. Just do it ! Show your metal rather than keep sponging and run your own parliaments and live by your elected. These "debates" are nothing short of an embarrassment !

Stonking gun for the money. Looks in lovely condition too. Non-ejectors can be an advantage when shooting from a hide, especially with a mate. I hope you sell this OP. It deserves to be used and loved.

Great bins Leica. I bought the 7x42 in 1999. They've stood the test of time. The black 8x42's were my fathers and I inherited them when he passed away 8 years ago. I've shouldered plenty of newer models from other leader makers as well as newer Leica and honestly I haven't looked through any that I thought were optically better. Yes the newer models are a lot lighter in weight but for me this isn't a key consideration. To my mind optics aren't the sort of thing to be swapping in and changing for the sake of it. Very expensive thing to do with Binoculars. Buy once I say. This pair are 'keepers.

I'm with you. They make them in 26g 28g and 30g. They come in a 65mm case and a very nice to shoot in old English game guns. Hit hard considering the light recoil.
