  1. Inter-Club Charity Shoot Although the weather was not ideal, with entries in the afternoon shooting in what felt like a gale, in general most shooters ended the day smiling, especially if you managed to hit the ‘easy’ rabbit. At the end of the day, the scores were as follows: 1st - South Lincolnshire Wildfowlers - 167 2nd - Kings Lynn & District Wildfowlers - 155 3rd - Spalding & District Wildfowlers - 150 Top Visiting Team was Crowland Gun Club - 173 High Gun on the Day was Tony Woodrow with a straight 50/50. Top junior shot was Terry Wilkinson with an excellent 40. We would like to thank all those who attended (65 entries), the sponsors for the day, and all those who helped out. As last time, the generosity of people with the raffle prizes we were given was much appreciated. We would also like to thank East of England Shooting Ground for helping out at short notice. We will look forward to seeing you all next year. Steve Cook SLWC
  2. All, Following discussions at our clayground last week, we have unfortunately decided we need to move the venue to East of England Shooting Ground. Our ground is bordered by the old sea wall which is a public footpath. Under normal circumstances (previous years), this has never really been an issue as we've seen very few of the general public using the path. This year unfortunately, the path has been shown as part of a cross country/mountain bike route in a national countryside magazine. At our shoot last Sunday, we had 3 groups of mountain bikers, 3 horses, 2 motor cross bikes & a couple of families out for a stroll! Clearly this would be a dangerous & frustrating situation if we were to try & run the shoot with multiple delays waiting for individuals to clear the path. It is very disappointing/frustrating as we are aware that a number of clubs have sent our newsletters to their membership. All we can ask is that everyone tries to 'spread the word'. We will be sending an email out to clubs over this weekend. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. 3. Evening All, Before Covid arrived, South Lincolnshire Wildfowlers Club decided to organise an inter-club charity shoot initially aim at clubs located local to The Wash. At the 1st event, we had visiting teams who had asked if they could attend from as far afield as the South coast. We have now decided to organise the event again this year and have decided to once again open the even up to wildfowling clubs from anywhere within the UK but will also be happy for individuals to shoot at the event as its all for charity. I've attached a flyer & I'm hoping you can see it once I post this. All we ask is that if you plan on coming along, just give me a ring, text me or email just so we are aware of potential numbers for food, parking etc Any questions just drop me a line on s.cook@zonesystems.co.uk or ring on 07795 434258 Thanks in advance. 4. Unfortunately not. Mate has just taken it to the local gunshop to see what he thinks. He's collecting it on saturday, hopefully sorted!
  5. Thanks for the advice guys. We will have a look at it tonight in the safety of the man-cave!
  6. Evening all, A question for Beretta auto aficionado's. Friend has just bought a 20b 302 from a member on here. Cracking little gun in great condition for the money he paid. It had previously only been used on clays for a junior so only ever loaded 2 cartridges (1+1) Friend used it for roost shooting on saturday afternoon & can only get a single cartridge into the mag. Mechanism works as required i.e. one up the spout, bottom mechanism button releases the firing pin carriage etc. First cart into mag no problem, 2nd cartridge goes in but then it stops approx 10mm before being fully into the tube. Its as it the mag tube has been crimped (previously original 5 shot) in the wrong place. Or, blockage in the end of the mag? When shooting, gun cycles perfectly as required ejecting both cartridges etc. No, he's not using 3" cartridges ! Any guidance/advice/ideas much appreciated. Steve
  7. Thanks guys, I've contacted my mate & told him about it.
  8. Evening all, A friend is looking for a 20b auto for his girlfriend. Ideally a Beretta 303 (or similiar) as he has a 12b version already & she knows how that works (button etc) Steve
  9. I've got a couple of old A303's & then cycle 24gm not problem but wont cycle 21gm.
  10. More Info. Stock is 14.6" from trigger to butt plate. Barrel length including the silencer is 37" Weighs 8lb Steve
  11. Anyone who has sent me a PM will receive pics today. Enquiries will be on a 'first come, first server' basis. Steve
  12. Gents, I've had a number of requests for pics so will get some posted on Friday. Sorry for the delay but works always seems to get in the way!!! Steve
  13. I've got this gun sat in my cabinet & haven't used it for a couple of years. Had it to clean up ferals around barns etc. Stock is a little tatty but barrel & silencer in perfect conditional & fully functional. Bargain at £150 if anyone interested. PM me & I can sent over pictures if required. Steve
  14. Sorry not interested in a trade unless you have a 28b CG Maxum or a Rizzini RB 410. I was originally looking to create a 687 'set' as I have 12 & 20bores. I have been using a 12b Maxum for the last 18 months & have recently acquired a 20b to go with it so now the 'set' has changed to CG. Thanks for the offers though. Steve
  15. I've just been told the only new 'cheap' Beretta 410 available is the Silver Pigeon. Problem is that it also has an adjustable stock so when you look at the weight, its over 7lb. The old 691 field model was 1/2lb lighter but no longer available although I did see a couple on Guntrader. I was quoted £1765 for a new Silber Pigeon. Steve
  16. I've also recently purchased a 28b & find the trigger pulls very heavy. to the point that when I return to using my normal gun, I've started to discharge the 1st shot as I try to apply the trigger pull earlier as I wood with the Kofs. Local gunsmith tells me he can reduce the pull for £25. Really like shooting with the 28b & am tempted to see if I can find a 687 to match the 12b & 20b I already have. If anyone has one I'm interested - Also a 410. Steve
  17. Might be interested if you could PM me some details please. I need a 14 3/4 - 15" stock. Steve
  18. 997.2 or 991.1, this is the real question.
  19. Looks like I'll try out the VP90 sachets. For £8, it would be stupid not too. Steve
  20. Sorry should have said. Shotguns in my gun cabinet
  21. I'm in Lincolnshire & had a 'visit' last year. The officer noted I had 7 guns in a 5 gun cabinet. Following the purchase of 2 further guns, I anticipated there being a problem when my licence came up for renew earlier this year so I bought a 2nd cabinet, stuck it in the loft & put the cheap stuff in it. When he turned up, he told me that 11 was the limit & after that they would expect an alarm system & CCTV. If you have a mixture of shotguns & FAC then 6 was the limit & they would expect an alarm system. After 6 they want both alarm & CCTV. He gave me some really good advice on alarm systems, types of CCTV he would recommend etc. Could fault his advice. (Different bloke to the 1st visitor)
  22. Looking for recommendations on silica bags. Now winters hear I start to dry clothing on the central heating radiators & I'm conscious that must mean more moisture in the air. Do people recommend multiples small bags or single big bag etc. Other options people use. Any help much appreciated. Steve
