Were the Essex boys there already  ?
  2. Was at the computer when this guy decided to visit... .22lr round for scale, I released him soon afterwards. I also had a huge moth bump into my head last night, possibly a hawke moth. May bugs and midges too.

Interested in skinner set , any chance of pics please? Cheers, moor man.
  4. Nice shooting, great now the evenings are lighter, shooting till gone 9.30 Do you sell them?
  5. If she doesn't like the bird take it crow shooting, my sad looking sparrowhawk does the trick
  6. All the best mate, you seem positive which is good. Sounds like youve had time to make some plans, anything exciting or shooting related? I know it can be very unsettling but also an opportunity for change. Keep us posted. moor man.
  7. Well done! If you dont ask you dont get, you may well be doing the landowner a favour. Courtesy and politeness go a long way. Good shooting.
  8. Accuracy must come first and the only way to find out what suits your barrel is to test shoot batches at distances out to 100m. Use a rest/bipod/ beanbag and try to shoot an objective comparison test ie. low wind, no distractions. My 16"CZ luuurves remmie subs (which is handy as they are cheap) Eley subs come close but not as accurate. You may not get the same results as someone with the same gun as you, all barrels are different. A couple of ft/lb wont make any difference to a headshot bunny, you must get the lead in the right place first. Have fun testing, cheers, moor man.
  9. Hi Nick, bought a mint Bettinsoli diamond 30", saw it on guntrader, not too far away, made an offer, mine for £415....result. Lanber, Rizzini, Lincoln, all worth considering, cash is king, dont be afraid to politely make an offer. Your clay gun will kill rabbits and pigeons well as you are already used to it? You dont say what your going to be shooting, a 28"barrel is better in a hide, 30" more pointable, good luck and let us know how you get on, cheers from sunny devon.
  10. 9 + 12 on two consecutive evenings, from one field with .22lr in daylight 21 1523
  11. Hi Jim, I have both .22lr and .17hmr. As stated they each have their pros and cons. The moderated .22, using subsonic ammo is quieter in my opinion and creates less disturbance and less carcass damage the .17hmr. The .17hmr has more reach ( wind allowing ) more delivered energy on target, Im not too far from you, if you would like to try the .17hmr you are most welcome. PM me for details. I have an open FAC so no problem there. If I had to choose between calibres Id go for .22lr purely for its versatility and economy, cheers moorman.
  12. ITS A PUPPET!..... No, seriously though, apparently it smelt of curry, either chicken tarka marsala or vindaloo. "WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?" I hear you shout.................................... they are both the same except ones is a little 'otter.
  13. SOLD....Mesh decoy bag, New and unused, hide pole pocket, 4cm wide webbing strap, 24"x44". £9 posted, paypal preferred. (Pictured with line prop poles and 6 duck decoys for scale and reference only, not for sale)
  14. I bought a pair of hawke frontier 8x43 ED (£260, last years model) after a lot of research. Whilst out stalking with a mate, compared them with his 8x swaro el's. Couldnt see any discernable difference but will try a low light test comparison and post the result. Never owned a pair of ELs and couldnt ever see me buying any (£1200?) I would recommend the frontier ED 100%, cheers.
  15. Crackin puppies and mum, this would have been my no. 1 choice 6yrs ago when I got my first dog (a 3/4 black lab/ g.pointer cross) Due to my inexperience and lack of funds I bought Bella. She does all I ask of her, pigeons, deer, pheasant etc. Good luck with finding the right homes for them, cheers, moorman
  16.  thanks.... needed a laugh after 13hrs at work :good:now wheres my spare trolleys?
