Very well put FM ......the kinetic energy of a 22 has a lot more stoping power than a 177 in my opinion...I too have tryed both 177 and 22 and always will favour the 22 for stopping power

I used to use a little owl decoy with glass eyes.........I used to set it up on a fence post along side a fur wood in the early eve or morn and wait for them to come into the trees above the coy shouting their hearts out at it. You will have to build ya self a good hide and keep very still though, I had many hours of fun with good results...some of the best sport I've had with an air rifle! I use the Air Arm TX 200 HC in 22 cal......have found it to be a nice handy rifle and shoots very accurate...use it mainly for rabbit controll...dont think you will go far wrong with a TX if ya after a springer! All the best Lander

Thanks for all your well wishes chaps.....I've had my second op and now have 7 stiches on my eye ball, I still cant focus on any thing out the eye as its coverd in glue to keep the stiches in place, I can just about make out shapes and colours. I have to have the stiches in for 6 months.....so im hoping that I might have some vision back by September (my b'day) I have tryed looking down my gun barrel....but all I see is the left hand side...cant focus down the rib...and as for my rifle scope.... ****** all ! not even with the IR turned right up (just a bright red blur) and I'm dying to get out and do a bit of bunny bashing....bloody loads about! ..ah well will just have to wait and see what happens in September. Ive just come out of hospital after an op to save my right eye, I was at work on Thursday putting rubbish in a skip when a load of glass came flying back out and one peice went straight trough my right eye ball! Had a two hour op on friday, but they think that I have lost my sight in the eye for good, so when I can get back out again I will have to learn to shoot useing my left eye!! At the mo ive got 5 stiches on my eye ball as well as glue and a lense, and it aint very comfy, have to have anouther op tomorrow after noon, so fingers crossed! All the best Lander :o

Eve Gents........just got in from shooting . Shot 51 pigeon, 6 crows and 1 squirrel, I had hope to shoot more pigeon but some one else was shooting the flight line before they got to me so I was shooting his bounce off, couldnt do much about it as it was the farm next to ours and I aint got any shooting rights there......still 51 aint to bad a day All the best Lander Snipe wheres the PM chap
