  1. Can these be incubated in a chicken incubator? Andy
  2. I have quite a few magpies and other corvids around my home which Im unable to shoot due to location. So over the last few years Ive monitered the song bird population and it is thriving. I have many song birds nesting succesfully in my garden. I think a major problem is places suitable for nests. If you research various species and look at there nesting requirements you will reaslise the are few places they can nest. Some birds won't nest above 4 ft above ground and so its not trees they require. Some trees such as hazle dont provide much oportunity for nesting. I know we all like to shoot but sometimes I feel people create an argument for shooting to justify the sport. There are times I,d love to shoot but know the prey is far from a pest in that environment, and may be helping the local ecosystem. eg There are few rabbits around me, and I leave them for the birds of prey who are doing great in the area. Although Id love top be shooting them, I know there is a very sparse number around here. I your really concerned about song birds etc. plant a few buxxus and let it grow naturally. You will have lots of small birds nesting there. Ive got some plants here I'm happy to give to anyone who can collect them. BTW I find I can't watch anything with Kate Humble in it, every word seems to annoy me :o
  3. All reports sounding disapointing! Maybe we would be better off meeting up for a shoot instead .
  4. HW100s are regged. These gunsmiths seem really incompetant! Why return guns to customers so low powered and then have to lie about having put it right. One thought though, if they say its 11.4 and yours say less, could your chrono be wrong. If you told us where you are, you may get suggestions for putting it right.
  5. Hey Springer and welcome, You've been given some great advice above, and I would just like to add that the meteor is a great rifle, but will only have enough power to get clean kills to a certain distance. If your meteor is getting on and not been serviced for a while it could be around 9 ft lbs. So I wouldnt want to use it for hunting. 2 things you could consider are getting the gun serviced and getting it chronoed to see how much power you have. But for now just enjoy practicing and learning. Andy
  6. Although an AA s200 is good and fairly light for a precharge I'd expect it to be way to much for a youngster, also cos its so long, the muzzle will be too heavy. I taught my daughter with a SMK but she was 11, which can make a fair difference. I think a ratcatcher or an old webley ranger if you can find one are two good places to start. start him off gently and he will find things so much easier as he gets a year or too older. I think it takes a time for them to develop the maturity to hunt, so maybe not put him on live quarry for a few years. Then ensure he has excellent and consistant accuracy, which I find is rare in a yougster! Andy
  7. Pro sport here too. there great.

  10. When your gun is UNLOADEd, line up the centre of the holes with the line of the barrel. leaving the mod on fine.

    hw 100 Swap

Im looking to swap or P/X my HW100 sporter .22 Its pre A/T and has been serviced, 11.4 with FX pellets. I find I tend to use my venom or R10 more than this so wanting something new to try. Heres some pics http://s616.photobucket.com/albums/tt242/Welsh_Andy/hw100/ Andy
  13. sorry for duplicate where about in South Wales are you? How old is it? Andy
  14. I've got a few BSA's incl a lightning and although I do like the BSA's I think the lightning is no where near as good as the TX, of which i have two . Thats great shooting from standing though mate. lets see how you do at 30 yds Andy
  15. Tell her you've spoken to your guns, and they dont want her in the house! I could see the logic if she doesnt like you shooting, but not minding you shooting then just not wanting the guns in the house doenst make sense! Doesnt she trust you!!
  16. The gas leak is probably the rubber ring between the cylinder and the endcap. Mine that was leant out, went in this way last week. It is important to get the replacement ring just the right size, so if going to a local merchant take the old one with you. I think these guns are good for what they are, and thats a cheap licht weight gun accurate to 30 yds. I wouldnt choose one of these to be my FAC rifle. They are good guns just chrono each one and check grouping before using it. Andy
  17. you could of taken a pic of the girl
  18. Yep thats what it sounds like to me!
