the males get very aggressive in the spring and they can and will attack a jake decoy or even try to mount the hen decoy.I had that happen 2 years ago and he climb right on top of my hen decoy so I loaded the ****** with a #4 shot.

I use my trusty rem 870 pump 12 guage

here in canada you can't shoot those turkeys with a rifle and second that guys says it was a sleep . the turkeys won't sleep on ground level unless it's a hen in nesting season.but don't be fooled those birds are tough to hunt and by no ways are they a stupid bird.As I hunt this birds each spring and the later in the season the smarter they get.
-
you guys can't buy them at your grocery market? We can here but most of the time they are out of stock and you end up ordering. But they are pricey $21.99

you might of shoot one of the larger sub species of canada's and they are very good .bake them entill done then thinly slice the meat soak it in honey garlic sauce and place on top of bed of rice.there is a total of 8 sub species the biggest weighs almost 20 pounds an the smallest weighs just under 3 pounds.

the meat is darker than that of a rabbit but the taste is much more sweeter .I hunt them here in canada every fall.
