  1. I know what you meen about different hides for different sittuations but what i meant in the poll is what hide do you use most.
  2. Just wandering which type of hide you prefer, well and i wanted to find out how these polls worked.
  3. What is your most memorable days pigeon shooting? Mine is my first real days decoying. Me and my dad set up on the edge of a wood, the crop we were shooting was rape stubble and i used a dozen shell decoys. We were at the top of a big hill and i remember being amazed at the way the birds just turned in the air and fell into the pattern. although i only shot four birds and my dad only ten that trip sticks in my mind more than any other.
  4. In hampshire you are not aloud to shoot unsupervised until you are 17
  5. I am looking forward to the spring drillings and especialy the peas but i was wondering at what stage in the peas growth do you get your best results.
  6. I have noticed a few pigeons on the ground dead and alive but i hav never heard of acorn poisening.
  7. Just looking through sporting gun and noticed an advert i had never seen before an advert for Game bore extream pigeon 34g cartridges i would like to know wether any one has used them and what they think of them.
  8. I was just wandering how all of you started pigeon shooting and what was your first expereance of pigeon shooting. My first experiance of pigeon shooting was me and my dad out on some laid barly me with my single barrel 12bore and my dad with his o/u baikal 12bore we didnt have any decoys or camo netting so we just sat in the hedge and laid out the dead birds as we shot them. I finnished the day with 7 and my dad had 9 this dosn't sound too bad but we did fire over 50 shots.
  9. The best tip i have ever had has to be to watch the pigeons don't just jump in and leave it down to luck. watch the pigeon watch were they are coming from watch were they are feeding and also walk them off and see where they go and how long it takes for them to return that is if they return. This tip has saved me a lot of moving about because if you dont watch the field then you might set up in a spot that they dont like but if you watch them you will know were to set up and when to set up.
  10. I got a lanber deluxe sporter o/u with multi chokes for around £550 from avalon guns and so far i have had no trouble with it i use it for pigeon, rabbit and clays i find it to be a very strong robust gun.
  11. I don't live under a flight line but i do have around 4000 acres of land to shoot on this includes two large woods around 200 yards from my house this comes in very handy when i run out of ferret food.
