    Scammed

Havent been on for a while as I have been quite busy with work but just reading a few posts it seems there has been a few people scammed in to sending money for an item and then not receiving it. Back in February I purchased a dummy launcher for £60 including postage from a member who had made over 205 posts. I thought he would be legit and seemed through the messages that there wasnt going to be a problem. I sent the money to his bank and the name of the account was in his name so I do still have his bank details. I sent him a message a month later but no reply and I saw he hadnt been active since the day of the sale. I then contacted Teal who did his best to get in touch with the user but from a forum point of view contacting him was the only option and was agreed there wasnt much more we could do. I then raised the issue with my local police force who to this day have not got back to me. I have since then contacting the free legal service with barclays who have told me to raise the issue again with the police. Its PayPal all the way from now on!!!
  2. If we werent having a springer pup next month I would of had that white one anyday, looks a beauty. Hope you find the right home bud!

Are you serious or is this a joke? PV is only so expensive because of the benefits! Heat Pumps are like 300%+ efficient and have been used for years! Yeah a thermal store coupled to a wood burner ideal, On or off, cant go wrong. Do you have any problems when your thermal store gets up to temperature and the log burner keeps providing heat? I Havent linked a thermal store to wood burner as we normally have heat pumps linked to them and they would hate a higher temperature back feeding.

Hearsay = One of the leading technologies to replace a conventional heating system will only cost you £8700 a year to run but it will cut your carbon footprint.... Reality = A heat pump can acheive a COP of 4 but lets use an average of 3. This mean in simple terms if you put 3kW in to your heat pump you will get roughly 9kW out. Do you have your heating on all day and all night? I hope not! If you said you were actually only having your heating on for a few hours a day you would then see the 3kW you are putting in to the heat pump isnt actually on for long and if it is it would be providing you with the heat you need! Because you should know yourself that our Grid is incapable of handling a high amount of back fed electricity! The government has to make Co2 reductions as it has signed away its sole to do so! Around 15 per cent of the yearly emissions cuts between now and 2020 will be achieved by making homes more efficient and supporting small scale renewable energy. New measures include: strengthening the energy regulator's powers to protect the consumer ‘pay as you save’ pilots helping people make their house greener by using the savings made on bills to repay the upfront costs a consultation on a new ‘clean energy cash-back’ scheme - people will be paid for generating their own electricity from low carbon sources a new scheme to challenge people on a voluntary basis to save energy, through the Act on CO2 campaign challenging 15 villages, towns or cities to pilot future green initiatives. The smaller production of electricity of which you can assume half will be used by its generator is easier managed. But nobody is about to pay out to reduce their Co2 emissions hence why the taxpayers money will be used to encourage the small scale installations. The reduction we saw in FIT was the larger installations. FITs was not made for Middle eastern Investment groups looking to make huge money so rightly so a cut was made. But for small scale installations the FIT was actually increased! It is easy to think its all a gimmick and they wont be here in 25 years time but if you learn the facts you will have a better understanding of what will and wont be here in 25 years time. The older generation, who have been brought up thinking an oil or gas boiler is the only way forward because you push a button and it works, you thoughts will be outnumbered by a generation who have spent their whole education learning about Co2 emissions and what needs to be done FIX the problem they will inherit by previous generations...... And please dont think I'm some kind of tree hugger as I am far from it. These things are my living, I could sit back and refuse to believe they work and say its a load of old rubbish but architects and designers will keep specifying them as the government will keep enforcing them. Instead I went the other way and learnt enough to know what they do, how well they do it and more importantly how much I can do it for!

Very good suggestion with a heat pump of some kind but can be slightly more expensive than first thought, especially on a retro fit. As a rule, I think you need new build standards of insulation and heat loss so you may find you have to upgrade your insulation. Then the bore holes, just got a quote this week as I am looking at fitting a ground source heat pump for one of my clients, he is looking at roughly 10 bore holes at 5k each. Even if you needed just 2 its 10k plus the heat pump at around 7k installed. Air Source heat pumps can provide v similar COPs but dont require a ground loop so cost much less to install. but again require high standards of insulation.

The feed in tariff or FIT has actually just been increased, only by pennies but over time it all adds up. I have been doin M+E work with my dad for a number of years and have for the last 2 years been specializing in renewable energy and small sale generations such as solar panels. I personally think its a wise investment if the follow apply to you: You have the capital to fund the installation You have the roof space and aren't to concerned about aesthetics You intend to stay in the property for at least the time it takes to get your money which as a rule is roughly half the 25 year period but the bigger the installation the quicker the payback. It's not something that every can do for the above reasons but if you can you should. Think the financial times has it as a top investment for 2011. We did 2 systems last week, 1 was 3.97kW system, 18 panels, south east facing roof in cornwall is gonna amount to £1680 a year for 25 years. If you want some more info just let me know. Cheers
  7. Thanks for the comments!
  8. Have had a couple of these guys on the pond recently. Two males that seem to be fighting over the one female that shows every now and then. That is until our two female Muscovys sort them out! Bit smaller than I wanted to put on here but Im still getting to grips with this whole photography thing!
  9. Id go with the energy! How long do you have to wait for the SGC?
  10. Have just looked at the Select Enegry, Go for it, looks a beauty!
  11. Nick, at the CLA last year, the select light I bought was next to a brand new select topcoat 2 signature. It was marked 950. So I would keep looking around as that gives you a marker for how much you can get them for. I think in total I got my select for £900 but that was sent back and I have the English field now, which looking at the retail means I didn't get a bad price!
  12. Yeah I stuck with them, I use my English field for all sorts. I prefer the engraving on it to the others in the range. http://www.sportsmanguncentre.co.uk/product/694bd58d95efdf7400261808/WINCHESTER+Select+English+Field+12G/ Good price there, probably get it cheaper if you look around! Can get it in 30" if thats what you want. For me it has the better engraving, is quite light and comes with good wood. Dont get me wrong I would of bought a browning or Beretta but I couldn't find any for as good value as the Winchesters! When I see one come up for sale I always think I should buy it and get rid of the Winchester but when I think real hard, I have no reason too other than the Winchester is SUPPOSED to be less of a gun. Its not in my opinion.
  13. I think the stock cracking you refer to could be my topic. I bought a select light from the game fair and the stock cracked a few shots in. BWM didn't mess around they replaced it but I wasn't very happy with my replacement as it too had what looked like a hair line crack. I now have a Select English field. Very impressed with it, nice looking gun, quite light compared to my friends beretta and I seem to be shooting quite alot better after upgrading from old baikal. They are part of the BWM Group so they are produced in belgium alongside brownings, I would even be tempted to buy the select sporting Topcoat for clays if I had the money! 2 Pence!
  14. I think its a great new site, will help alot people in finding the right gun. As has been said, hope the dealers don't absolutely flood it!

    canon or nikon

started photography this year, misses does it for a living, I have just done it for rural sports photography as its something I have taken interest in. I dont know sweet FA about cameras but I bought a canon as thats what she has so she has been able to point me in the right direction a few times. Have been using the kit lens, I want to upgrade pretty soon. Been looking at sigma lenses, seem very good value.
