Upland chest protectors work well for barbwire and puncturing sticks........I had two dogs impale themselves on sharp sticks hunting pheasants.......they are designed to cover the chest and under side of the ribs, well keeping the dogs cool. look here http://www.flushandpoint.com/products.asp?id=16
  8. I dont trap otters but I have seen a really neat submerged bucket set. will see if I can find the fur management issue it is in if you are interested. NTTF
  9. You could get the dog a bramble vest. I use to use them on my pointers. NTTF

  11. I miss cod fishing and ferreting and shooting at pigeons . Lovely photos, and very nice fish. NTTF
  12. rjimmer, For mink I usually use a shellfish oil or a fish oil both made in a large glass pickle jar with a piece of glass over and left to sun bake. NTTF

  15. Well after a round trip of close to 4800 miles Trix is back home with the new puppy. Well Trix is home the puppy will live with her Mother. Did not have my camera with me.....as it was in the truck .......so will get a couple of pictures tommorrow. Now I just have to try to remember how to do this training thing NTTF

  18. Old Farrier, I have been away for a while, so this is the first time I have seen this thread. All I can say is BRILLIANT! What an absolute beauty you and the lads have created. I do hope you finish it off with letting us see her in the water.....maybe even with that smoke pole of a barrel lit up. NTTF

  20. Sent Trix yesterday on an 10 hour plane flight, an additional 6 hour drive, crossing an international boarder, for a total of 2400 miles one way, to pick up a new pup of working lines . He should be back home on Tuesday this week. NTTF
  21. Some of you may have noticed that I have been away from the forum for a rather long time. My absence was due to my decision to dedicate my time to my wifes ailing Father. Kit was diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago. He passed away 4 months ago. To those of you that sent me pms or emails that went unanswered I appoligize. Hopefully I will be able to help out a little more now that life has settled down somewhat NTTF
