  1. Hi Scolopax, That sound a good idea, I was wondering what to do with those Gulandi plas wads I had purchased. Was it the whole cup you cut off or just the sides of the shot cup leaving in effect 2 gas seals. AH !!! sorry read it again you are using just the rear gas seal part of the wad. The gas seals very firm, just wonder how well it will compress down to 0.815" Dogfox1
  2. I currently have some 3mm over powder card wads which are vary from 0.846 to 0.850 which I was concerned they would be a bit over size for this bore of 0.815. I have noticed with these over powder card wads I can split them with my finger nail which then makes them around 0.070" to 0.080" thick. Also I have ordered some 3/8 felt muzzle loading wads at 0.820" and I wondered if this would work or I should just gone for larger felts. Hope muzzle loading felt is OK in cartridges. Just not sure where to go as some say one cannot put smaller wads because the internal size of the Winchester case is around 0.850" as there will be alot of gas getting past and hence poor patterns ,but the split wads may reduce pressure but I don't want to further damage the gun. Any offers of advice will be gratefully be received. dogfox1
  3. Hi Wigeon Jim, Quote "Most will say never use plastic wads in these guns, I have used my one for over 15 years and have fired 1000s of plastic wads through it with no problems, keep any 8 bore data at least 2 grains light for these guns and use felt wads if you dont want to risk plastic, Many have bulged just before the chokes, Jim." This gun has only got 28 1/2" barrel so that could of happen to this one, had my gunsmith check it out before and he said it was just under 1/2 choke. Any chance of details of your loads and what type of plastic wads were you using. Dogfox1
  4. Hi Andy Clay, quote "hi m8 i use 55 gr off biue dot and 2 0z of lead r you in south lins i if you need any 8 bore reloaing gear i have got a m8 you can make you any think to do with any bore from 2 bore to 4 8 10 28 20 and on if you r in south lins i my see you" Thanks for the info. 5. Just like the other guy the odd clay and any old crow that comes in close enough.
  6. No I am not using it for fowling so the use of lead not a problem, should put that in the first post, so no laws broken about to be broken.
  7. Hi Andy Clay, I have already got the sizing die and roll turnover, just not sure about those GU- Ind wads in that tight bore. Dogfox1
  8. That's correct they were originally 10 Bore shotguns bored out and re-proofed as you say in 8 Bore. You could be right about being in the wrong forum, my mistake putting in here.
  9. Hi, Does anyone on the forum reload for an 8 Bore Greylag, As these guns are only bored out to 0.815" a bit under size to the normal 8 bore of 0.834" I have some of the new Winchester Industrial cases ready sized for reloading. Plus some of the those 8GA G-Ind plastic cups which are only about 1/2" deep in the shot cup area, I wondered if these were safe in this gun as most of the shot would be in front of the cup as they are only made for those 8 Bore kilm slugs. If anyone has any loading data I would be grateful, Currently I have some CSB0 and A381 Powder to use with just a plain lead shot load. The guns just slightly less than 1/2 choke. Dogfox1
