  1. Hi, I currently run an old Frontera as a shooting/off-road vehicle: crossing fields to fell trees, boat launching, towing etc. I might start looking for an old doublecab pickup to replace it as it's not got many MOTs left in it. What thoughts do you have on a 10-15 year old doublecab?
  2. 'I' section girder each side with concrete sleepers slotted in to form the roadway?
  3. I was sickened when I read that this morning, truly awful.

    Echo Chainsaw

What sort of jobs will you be using it for?
  5. Dumfries & Galloway, I used to have family up there years ago, still love visiting the area, think I'd like to retire up there.
  6. ...and Wrecsam, RIP Dai
  7. Possibly consider Auchentoshen, although it's not from the great production areas such as Speyside or Islay, it is one of only two triple distilled Scottish whiskys. To be honest, I'd recommend touring Scotland and visiting a couple of distilleries to understand more about the history, production and regional variations. It's a very personal thing.

    Ups and downs

My next door neighbour (83yr old) slipped on the ice yesterday and cut his head open. Within minutes he had received first aid from another neighbour, another one sat with his wife (who has Alzheimer's). My daughter contacted me at work, I got in touch with his son, who lives abroad. After work I was straight round to see him. Other neighbours are calling in regularly. My daughter made them some cakes and took them around today with a card. (All of this was socially distanced, of course) I'd rather live in a small house with great neighbours than a large house with neighbours who are not great. If I ever sold, not that I would, I would vet the purchaser. I wouldn't let anybody inflict themselves on my friends on both sides of my house. Good neighbours are out there, certainly where I live.
  9. I pinched a G-shock off my son for work. I usually just buy a 30 quid Sekonda from Argos every few years. I'm happy enough with it, though whether the rugged looks are up to the job I'll have to wait and see!!

  11. If you are an 'occasional' chainsaw user then consider using Aspen. It is designed not to 'break down' over time, safe to leave in the tank.
  12. Saw an obvious fake Husqvarna chainsaw on there, no serial number plate.
  13. Sour cream and chive pretzel snacks have been my downfall over the festive period. The diet started today...
  14. I thought Mosul was extremely good.
  15. I'll need to check my Natwest account, I think that offers European Travel Insurance, although I'm not sure what level of cover is offered. Probably worth getting an annual policy, it's rare I travel outside of Europe these days.
  16. Forgive my ignorance but I believed that most popular European destinations were rabies free?
  17. Right, so perhaps arranging some fairly decent travel insurance would be a wise move!
  18. I've always relied upon the E1.11/EHIC card will this still be honoured?
  19. Hi, I've only half heartedly followed recent Brexit developments, could somebody provide a brief explanation of how it will affect travel once this 'other' situation is over. I rather enjoy jumping on a cheap flight to a European destination and sometimes use it as a hopping off point for travelling overland to other places.
  20. Mine has been in the slow cooker since 8am, slow cooked in ginger beer, followed by a full day of basting with honey and mustard before being roasted on the 26th.
  21. A dangerous job at the best of times. Hope they're all ok.

Dont be sorry. Years ago on here I offered to help a fella fit a radiator on Xmas day. My lad and I are having Chinese on the 25th because we like it. I picked up some Manchego and some strong Gorgonzola tonight. I seem to have avoided my evening meal bu nibbling at the Manchego!!
