  1. I was left eye dominant and managed to change my dominance by training my brain. One routine that can help (no good if you shoot FITASC though) is before you call for the clay is to mount the gun, shut your left eye and aim at an object such as a tree or even into the sky for a few seconds, focus hard with the eye but not looking directly at the bead but aware of the bead (this is helped if you have a tru glow or equivalent type of ‘glow’ bead but not essential) then drop the gun and call for the clay, or if you shoot pre-mounted open your eye again. This routine helped me when I was training my brain over and the left eye was still having an influence. It reaffirms the dominant eye you want to use to the brain. I still use this routine occasionally just to make sure, but when my dominance switched to central vision I would do it before calling pull on every clay and it did work for me.
  2. have you seen the people I normally shoot with :o strangers are infinitely preferable
  3. Any that you can get hold of consistently. I used to shoot hull pro one and sovereigns but trying to get Hull near me now is impossible so I switched to Eley superb as I can get hold of them. Most of the major brands have a good starter cartridge just see what is in good supply in your area.
  4. 1992 & 1993 Fireblades were driven via cable off the front wheel, 1994 was the first year the 'Foxeye' blade came out, which had an electric speedo driven off a pulse generator from the gearbox sprocket. If the rectifier was playing up then it could interfere with the pluses causing the malfunction.

I love the place, been to see the TT’s a few times but the photo I posted is when we went to watch the Southern 100 a heck of a lot cheaper and a lot quieter but still good fun. We stayed at the Mount Murray the only four star hotel on the island. They are so bike friendly it even had on suite parking :yp:

I think both, there was an oil pump problem and an oil leak but I think there was also an electrical fault. I seem to remember the mechanic finding the others whilst fixing the electrical problem. He got the bike running then said just ride it to the ferry as he needed parts to fix the issue with the oil pump properly. I think it was a cheap fix but only because it was caught in time. Ironically the electrical problem saved him from an engine rebuild so shoddy electrics saved him a fortune. It was more than unconditional it was fanatical bordering on insanity. I know a few with Ducati’s and they will not have anything else, even a lad whose 916 sp self destructed in Ireland on the way to the North West 200 cost him a fortune to get back and repair but he still loves it.

Haha you’re not wrong, there is another lad out of shot with the pink wiggly worm fieldsheer leathers on :o  . I blame the NEC bike show for selling all the **** off at cheap prices in the late 90’s lol. Fortunately mine were my race leathers battered to death so looked passable as the scuffs hid the **** design. :look:

The last time our group took a 748 round the IOM this happened It was a good handling bike but a bit asthmatic, much preferred riding the RSV 100 Mille SP, R1 and Blade round the mountain. The VTR 100 Firestorm had a lot more grunt but was a pig to ride round the mountain in comparison (dangerous). But the only bike that gave up the ghost was the 748. I forgot what was wrong with it but it took the lad (who is also a mecahnic by trade) most of the day to get it running and then only as far as the ferry. However, the owner loved it and would not hear a bad word said against it even after this.
  10. He is a ******* student so would have been off to cash generator to trade them for pot noodles and Jeremy kyle tickets......
  11. Nah it ended just after I finished the red course on Saturday, they cancelled the Black course honest ..... True Story
  12. Yes your 'posh' hotel, trust you to book us in a hotel with a double bed and a peep hole at crotch level, I mean did you specifically ask for a peep hole to view potential visitors crotches ? or had you been drilling glory holes again (I think you need a bigger drill bit)
  13. 85 until the last stand on the red course got 1 on it to finish 78 lol I hate rabbits. Hope there are no rabbits on the black :-)
  14. Team El magnifier is where its at and right now it's at the hotel bar lol But seeing as we are down south we can only buy shandies.
  15. I think for that to apply you would have to prove the police were complicit in her making or breaking the verbal contract or they stopped him from carrying out his work without the householders consent or she still wanted it doing, that would be hard to prove without the householder as a friendly witness. If she changed her mind about having the work done and phoned the police to attend for fear of her safety / pressure to have the work done or even to get him in trouble then as far as I can see there is no case against the police, just her for breach of contract as the police had no input or knowledge of the contract until she phoned them to attend because she wanted to cancel. You have to prove loss and who is at fault for the loss and as far as I can see it the only case is against the householder which will also be very hard to prove.
  16. I cannot see this, you have a course of action against the householder. The police had no such contract with him, the householder obviously reported him as a cold caller otherwise they would not have attended. The police did not stop him doing the work against the householders permission, the householder asked the police to intervene. The Police will just say they attended at the request of the householder to deal with a cold caller, if your friend proves there was a verbal contract between him and the householder this is an issue between your friend and the householder not the police. To win against the police you would have to prove loss caused by them, the police did not stop him doing the work the householder did and used the police as a tool to do this. He should sue the householder. I could be wrong and stand to be corrected but our family business deals with litigation in construction and my limited knowledge of the law leads me to this conclusion. I have little faith in citizens advice after a client proceeded to take action against a builder on their recommendation only to find out she did not have a case when she talked to someone who I recommended before she wasted all her money on costs.
  17. what is ? Break Wind ? Team El Magnitude is very worrying, its beginning to look like a cult, do we have to supply our own werther's originals ?
  18. Oh I am still shooting it, but if El Magnifier is organising a team then there will be some strange initiation ceremony involving wee, werther's originals and ducks. He has already informed me he is breaking wind in the car all the way down to Essex.
  19. Go to a good coach. Shooting with both eyes open is definitely a benefit but if its not possible for you to shoot with both eyes open due to what ever reason then it just means you can still get very good by other methods or staying as you are. But its best to explore all the options early in your shooting life.
  20. errrrrr I have just changed my mind :o :yp:
  21. That’s the inference I got as well and I totally agree with everything beretta says Totally agree with dougall on this as well, I speak from experience (a few years dimming an eye and now a few years both open) its not tradition its a benefit to use both eyes if possible, so its worth trying to find out if you can. If not then no harm done at least you know
  22. Well I strongly disagree with your friend as I have been though it and its the first thing any coach worth his salt checks for. Not too sure what you are trying to get at here, it’s like comparing apples to oranges. The pattern plate is fixed in place so swinging through a stationary target has no meaning as there is no need to judge its speed, distance or direction. If I was a betting man I would say doing that test, then one eye shut would win even in a non cross dominant shooter but its results are quite meaningless. If you repeated the test with a pattern plate on a moving trolley (not just left to right but at slight offset angle as well) then I fear for the safety of your hat. Plenty of targets can be shot effectively with one eye shut, teals and anything on the skeet range because as you have rightly pointed out you just need to get the lead right and those targets are easy to judge with one eye shut. However on a sporting course you are going to come across a target you have never seen before that is speeding up or slowing down as well as crossing, looping, climbing or dropping. This type of target can be hit with one eye shut but it’s a heck of lot easier with both eyes open or at least acquiring the sight picture before dimming an eye. At the end of the day those targets missed to acquire the sight picture in the first place makes the difference between the top shots and the mid pack hence why for sporting most recommend both eyes open. As far as the OP like everyone has said check your dominance there are plenty of post on here about it.
