  1. If you’re shooting in just a T shirt I am getting my blind fold fitted. I can also adapt to different guns, if I am shooting pre-mounted it does not make much of a difference, but if I am shooting gun down I like my comb height to be just right. I can still shoot with a low comb but it is so much easier with one that is the right height for me and I can place my cheek bone on the comb. So in my case taking the time to set it up right is worth the effort. As far as the pattern plate I did that once, it screwed my head up for a few weeks so never again. I just go and play on a practice stand with a tight choke and a very easy target that just hangs in the air (Worsley have a few) and set it up that way. Once done I never touch it again.
  2. Have you got someone else to shoot it for you or do you need a new dictionary to look up the word decent I might take a trip out to Kingsley as I need to get ready for Hodnet
  3. Thankfully they were not John Deere green and yellow as we managed to avoid them, just. I expect I will be getting substantial winnings so I will now have to go back there again its a lovely shoot but I am damned if I can shoot it properly
  4. I was worse than average, for some reason I cannot shoot Kingsley, I started off badly, had a good mid section then the less said about the end the better. I did enjoy the scoring on the 2nd stand we shot as much as I enjoyed chard driving at the bollards on the way there.
  5. I was about to give up on it but gave it one last chance when Mike took over (well 2 but mike was not there for the first one so I discounted that one) and glad I did. I really enjoyed the last ESP I shot there with Beretta, Chard and Florian so much so I won my class, if the rest are like that then I am a happy man. Even had a round of skeet whilst we waited for Beretta & Florian to get there from the airport, not many grounds offer you that facility.
  6. Yes they do bronze, silver & gold for ESP. It's done on percentage hit. Gold is 80% and above not too sure on the percentage of the others. I have them in a drawer somewhere I got them at my 2nd registered shoot and was pleased as punch never worn them though.

    SNOW SOCKS

I got some AutoSocks last year for my mum from http://www.roofbox.co.uk/ so she can get up the lane to the farm in her car. I also bought some for my rear wheel drive absolutely **** in snow BMW and cannot rate them highly enough as a stick them in your boot get you 'home' device. I used them this morning to get up the farm lane (steep, icy and all the snow blows off the field and collects on it) the car ground to a halt, I put them on and did a hill start not a problem. I miss my Audi, that thing would go anywhere
  8. Get chard to drive then nearly all the grounds are only an hours travel from your doorstep, that's if you can pry him away from Xfactor. :o
  9. I quite enjoyed shooting fauxdegla (I won the princely sum of £15) I was not keen on the weather though, it did not put me off, but it took me most of the night to warm up again. I made some silly mistakes, like smashing 2 clays late after the tree and then deciding to miss the next 2 early in front of the tree for some stupid reason & not using maintained lead on a target I could easily hit using it and easily miss using pull away. The overhead mini was my bogey target. I enjoyed shooting with our squad, I definitely lean a lot from watching Beretta shoot, Florian made me smile & chard, well I suppose I cannot have it all. Joe told me they were thinking of doing a few all rounds at Worsley last time I spoke to him.
  10. Foggy was a great rider, but most world superbike riders (Scott Russell, Troy Corser, Collin Edwards) who beat / gave foggy a run for his money that then had stints in 500cc / Moto GP did not make the grade. However 500cc riders going to WSB like John Kocinski (who nearly won at his first attempt) eventually became champions. So as good as he was he was not the ‘greatest’ Rossi definitely is a candidate for that title. What I will say is that I travelled and watched Foggy all over Europe & it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, as much as I like Rossi when I have travelled to see him I just watch in admiration rather than raw passion. I miss the Foggy world superbike days, about 14 of us on bikes would travel to Donington & Assen every year to watch him.
  11. She was perfectly fine until you corrupted her..... If you believe that then I also have a time share in Zimbabwe you might be interested in
  12. The double post was due to me playing with my iphone and pressed the wrong thing, the reason it never happened on the old one was I would spend all my time zooming in and out I gave up trying to post with it . I am glad the old one is not coming back, my witty remarks could do with more similes i need to remember how to do them without a dedicated button again
  13. Well that's that then, bring back the old one as i never double posted with that one. For those that are interested I have just used the app, its basically the same interface as safari with just a few dedicated navigation buttons at the bottom of the page.
  14. Must find out how to delet posts though
  15. i wish you hadn't as when I logged on this morning I could see you had defaced my wall last night. :-) Well i like it and it works miles better on the iPhone. I am going to try the app later as that's the way I roll. :-)
  16. It looks good on my IPhone, I will have a look round properly when I get on my laptop. Does anyone know if the free iPhone app is worth downloading and using over safari ?
  17. I think you want chard's secret PW Sex Club for that kind of thing :good:
  18. Do I have to supply my own drill?
  19. I fancy this as well, with the way I have been shooting recently I can be the mandatory C class shooter in the squad

  21. Well you could hardly shoot any worse I suppose & the shell suit + bobble hat combo will be a big improvement on what you normally wear so happy days
  22. Oh no bang goes the forum with you 2 back ....... the crazy driving, glory hole drilling Chard & the parasol waving, butterfly chasing Anni
  23. I think you are right, quite a few shooters I talked to were on the low side, the only thing that got me was I would hit the first 2 pairs convincingly then make a right mess of the last 2 pairs I can understand the other way round . 8 was a good score on that stand, I ended up with 5 and chard with 7, the shooter in front of us hit 9 but had to ask each time if he had hit them, I wondered what he was going on about as I could see them from outside the cage but I was damned if I could from inside
  24. Went to Shugborough today. Mr potter got 75, Chard got 73, I got a poor 67 and anni 59. I thought it was a good course with some nice stands I just could not get going, I would hit the first few pairs then miss the last pair. Only one stand was a joke a pair straight into the sun, no one from our squad could see it or see if they had hit it a complete lottery. Talking to a couple of mates I know from worsley later on, one told me he walked out of the stand and told the ref to mark all zeros as he could not see and it was point less shooting it.
  25. I think I am going to give it a go
