  1. Its not for me to say so I will leave that to chard to elaborate on if he comes back...... At the moment he is taking a break from the forum but not from shooting
  2. Nope all good humoured and not one dodgy call .......we were all on for decent scores but managed to screw up two traps each but this was due to our individual incompetence lol.... oh anni blames the gay umbrella he was using
  3. At the moment no I doubt he will be back on PW for a bit yet if ever, at the moment he is frequenting a forum called 'Glory Hole Watch'...... he even had a drill bit in his pocket today... Anni was mincing about with a gay umbrella I do worry about those two at the moment ...... We all enjoyed our shooting today that's the main thing
  4. Went to shugborough with chard and anni today, got a bit wet but a very enjoyable shoot, I dropped a few singles that should have been clearances and made a complete mess of one trap but was happy enough with how I shot & a second overall in B class when I left. Timps 78 Chard 77 Anni 75
  5. I am on Orange and they are now telling me that soon I will be able to pick up a signal from T-mobile masts as well as orange and visa versa so the signal coverage of those 2 should improve. Apart from the network coverage maps on the relevant networks web page if you have access to an iphone it will search for all available networks, very handy if there is a specific place you have to have a signal.
  6. I totally agree last years was very enjoyable, the only change I would make is taking the scores from as many shooters as possible. I totally understand why the top 10 was picked because at the time we had no idea if the teams were going to be lopsided or not. I figure this year we wait till the entries are closed until we pick the number of scores that will count. That brings the competitiveness for everyone not just the top ten shooters if the teams are balanced & all scores count.
  7. Ooo its one of those new fangled hotels with room for my horseless carriage. To be fair I would probably enjoy it more as I have never shot there and I love trying new grounds as long as there is the odd interesting target I am happy. Catton would have been an excellent venue if they would do it & not just because I am lazy. But I have shot it so many times it would not be as much fun for me as trying a new place .
  8. Seconded Only because I could do with the extra hour in bed due to being a lazy *** I really enjoyed Hodnet it was a great day and I shot with a great squad. I will be coming to the next one wherever its held at and intend to enjoy that one as well.
  9. It was not me it was my evil twin he stole my car (well I wish he had of done) :yp: I decided to go down on my own as well and pick my winnings up from last time I was down there of fifteen of your finest whole English pounds. I so wish I had not bothered, not a hard course but I sure did make a meal of it. I just dropped ones twos and threes all the way round not one clearance. I lost the will to live and would have gone and drank my substantial winnings if I had not used them to enter in the first place. I also did the worsley members comp the day before and shot like a muppet there as well. I have now got the knitting magazines out again.
  10. oh ****, bang goes the forum......... I thought you and anni had eloped ..........
  11. That's fantastic shooting nick well done I decided to take a trip down to the registered shoot at shugborough today. Seeing as I was on my own I decided to have a look round and start on an easy stand, my mistake as I dropped 5 on probably one of the easiest stands there . I made up for it by only dropping one on the next six stands I shot. I thought I was on for a good score till the last stand of the day a 5 pair stand, there was a long queue and I lost all concentration by the time I shot it & dropped 6. So my first and last stands cost me 11. Ended up with 80 and was 3rd when I left.
  12. Matching tops & matching scores people will talk about us ..... Started off well and finished well just a shame about the middle 3 traps, my excuse was I wanted a wee real bad on those stands ..... The car park stand was just unbelievable I could not get my head round the amount of lead I had given it and it broke, I was very happy with 6 on that stand. Overall a good day out with some nice targets
  13. I still have not recovered from the two we encounter driving back to my house especially the one on the single track lane :o......... I think you have one of these on the back of your car also reckon we buy you one of these Chards new gun silp
  14. Apparently I am engaged to Karen (I hope she is good looking), The rest are actually me ….a Hawkshaw gala sponsor , Facebook, Jeanette Branagan can smell me from here (thanks Jeanette) & second in C Class at a Worsley members comp odd seeing as I have been in double A for quite a while….
  15. Yes but that was when you had the Mossberg and you wore them over your head.
  16. Went to Worsley today only shot 25 myself but the reason I went is my 11 year old son has now got the shooting bug. It’s the 4th time he has been in the last 4 weeks. He has never shot before and he can now consistently hit all the clays on the practice & tuition stands. Also got him hitting a few on the compact sporting and 4 of the main stands. He is even hitting flying rabbits and no birds....... Anyone want to buy a Beretta 20 bore before he starts beating me (in about 2 weeks time at the rate he is going).... I’ll show him the little ***.
  17. I had just got my collection of DVD's packed for the back Nicky's car as well ....... Chard have you been on a John Deere awareness course or been to have your eyes checked to see if you can actually see the colours green or yellow...... If the answer is no I might be busy rearranging my sock drawer tomorrow
  18. I'm having it I will also do the shoot as well who's driving ?
  19. The Beretta DT10 is hand finished and not modular like the Blaser for instance, so chances are you would need some modifications to the barrels, action or forend for them to fit properly. The most common problem would be the timing of the ejectors. You might get lucky but I very much doubt it. Once any mods were done there then would be a problem fitting them back to the original action. Swapping the stock over from gun to gun may be an easier alternative as the wood is flexible and more likely to accommodate any differences between the two actions and only requires 2 screws and an Allen bolt to remove however even that might need some work.
  20. When worsley became a fibre wad only ground I did a bit of experimenting. A lot of people take the view that the pattern opens up with fibre wads as the shot is not held together in a plastic cup till it exits the barrel, to be honest I did not notice any difference whilst shooting. What I did notice was the difference between cheap and expensive cartridges in fibre wads. When shooting plastic I don’t think there is a problem with consistency when shooting cheap cartridges, with fibre there definitely is. Shooting the cheap ones you would get quite a lot that looked like the barrel was stuffed with confetti or some felt like a damp squid with a noticeable lack of recoil while others from the same batch gave quite a kick. Shooting with Hull Sovereigns or Gamebore blackgold fibre for instance there was no disadvantage at all and this was shooting with both Berretta optibore and Browning’s back bored barrels. So in my opinion the type of fibre wad makes a big difference, you might find a cheap consistent fibre cartridge but I gave up and stuck with Gamebore blackgold and Hull sovereigns. I was shooting over 200 carts a week so I was getting through a few to notice the inconstancies.
  21. I nearly went and sat in the car to watch the rest of old school after that first stand, I dropped 6 :-(. It's not the first time I have blown the first 2 stands and made some sort of come back I need to get my head into gear at the start. I really did enjoy the course though.
  22. More like micro knitting is just a lot harder also downscaling the pattern took it's time :-). I expect you will be a AAA class knitter in no time.
