An interesting article on the BBC News App on a young couple scammed having used the market place. It reports the Action Fraud statistic that complaints about being scammed on the marketplace has more than quadrupled in the past four years from 4,923 in 2019 to 20,735 last year !

I’ve only ever decoyed pigeons with a rotary so no experience using one for crows. I have heard mixed views from “great” to “scares them off”. I have a choice of decoys for the rotary. A plastic fixed wing landing crow (also useful as a bouncer): 2 hyperflap crows: and , a full body one with spinning wings. Also, a speed controller for slower speeds if necessary Advise / guidance welcomed. Thanks

Much depends on whether you’re looking for family holiday, or just with a partner, and what your interests are. Some years back we chose not to visit beach type resorts and as an alternative do a bit of city breaks sight seeing. We flew in to Lisbon for a few days then caught the train to Porto and stopped off on the way at one of the large university towns, then Porto for a few days from where you can do a trip to the Douro wine valley. The only down side was we had cabin bags and couldn’t bring back any Port!!

Has anyone used these and how do you rate them? Also, I’ve I’ve seen crow hyper flaps for bouncer poles, but they seem to have unduly / unrealistically large wingspan. advice on either would be appreciated. Thanks.

To my pallet Ballantines Whisky is a smooth blended whisky, although I do keep my eye on Tesco’s offers on malt whiskies. A White Horse trotted into a pub and asked for a large whisky. The barmen said we’ve a whisky named after you. The horse replied “ What? Dobbin?”

I see no difference between this and hare coursing which is illegal under the Hunting Act 2004. It should be banned.

A friend has applied for a SGC and is now in the queue…….. meanwhile, he would like to try various shotguns shooting clays. Am I right in my thinking that provided we carried our shotguns into and out of the clay ground - so that he does not become in possession of a shotgun without a SGC, that he may shoot clays under the clay shooting ground licence? Advice welcomed. Thank you.

You mean you actually see your courier? 😂😂 Their working practice around here is if it goes through the letter box that’s ok. If it doesn’t they leave it somewhere, take a photo and send it to your phone saying it’s been delivered!!! Recent examples: Just before Xmas a Mate along the road rang, said he was at work, courier sent photo of parcel on his front steps as proof of delivery, would I rescue it to avoid theft. It was a £1,600 diving dry suit from o3. Similarly, in January I saw a courier leave a parcel on next door neighbour step (she was out) take photo and left. He made no attempt to ask a neighbour to take it in. I sent her a txt and said I’d rescued it. She replied she has a camera bell linked to her phone. The courier hadn’t even rang the bell. It was a new computer screen. yesterday, a lady knocked on the door and asked if I’d taken a parcel in. She showed me a photo of a parcel hidden by an upturned flower pot. It wasn’t our house. She was trying houses in the street because it had been delivered to the wrong street and was important to her. All very hit and miss. I suspect the demands of their delivery schedules almost force couriers to use these tactics. If the parcel is stolen I wouldn’t think that leaving it on a doorstep plus a photo is proof of delivery because the named recipient never received it. The retailer would have to despatch a replacement parcel.

Only last Sunday when queuing to pay for the clay shoot the lady issuing the cards said to the bloke in front “what’s your name?” To which some bright spark from the back said “don’t tell him Pike”. A Classic line that will live for years to come. Alongside this line and from the same show I would add Private Frazer (John Laurie) “We’re doomed captain Mainwaring, we’re doomed”

Thank you. Even with a Kickeezee recoil pad and light carts she kicks a bit for me. That’s why she’s dormant. Must be me age - I won’t see 80 again 😵‍💫
