  1. I’ve an SKB 200E stamped “made in Japan” it does indeed have the selector on the trigger. (thinking of moving it on if anyone is interested PM me)
  2. Foreign Muck. Reminds of the late 60’s when playing in local rock groups. The only eateries open late at night after a gig were the curry houses. The drummer used to say he wasn’t eating that foreign curry muck, order steak and chips then smother it in HP sauce. Same effect.
  3. No knowledge of that act but curiosity got the better of me and it seems that it falls within the Wild Mammals (protection) Act 1996, to commit unnecessary suffering by mutilating, kicking, stabbing, impaling, stoning etc etc
  4. Gosh. Takes me back. Probably aged about 14 (1957) our playgrounds were bomb sites. Scarecrow type targets and bows and arrows, French arrows with nail heads bound in with copper wire from transformers in old discarded radios, and home made catapults. kept us amused for hours. We made our own “catties”. forked stick, 1/4” elastic from the model shop. Old leather boot tongue for the pouch, all held together with dubious whippings. Best Ammo was ball bearings, when you could get them. Looking back it was a lethal mix of boys own armoury.

    Brisket

I pot roast but the liquid is 50% red wine. Like Sussexboy I also blitz some veg to thicken the sauce. Gert Lush.
  6. For those in the Bristol area Wai Yee Hong at Eastgate is a massive chinese retail / wholesale supermarket with the two aisles devoted to noodles. Someone somewhere must like them!
  7. I can relate to this. Brought up with parents from an era where nothing of the animal was wasted. Chitterlings, trotters, stuffed hearts, lambs liver, brawn. The list is long. I know I can still get a pigs head from my butcher to make brawn should I want to. The same butcher makes her own (delicious) faggots.
  8. Thanks one and all. Food for thought ……………. (sorry, couldn’t resist the pun 🤣🤣🤣)
  9. Mrs B and I thought it would be a good idea to invite friends to a pre Xmas afternoon gathering with food. We’re now wondering what to provide. Summer gatherings are fine. BBQ plus salads, baguettes etc. But winter suggests, but not exclusively, warm foods. On the day we would like to keep cooking to a minimum. This suggests a couple of different casseroles prepared in advance with limited veg cooked on the day (new spuds, peas etc) perhaps even a tray of chicken drumsticks (tandoori / sticky spicy) So, for all you foodies out there we would welcome your ideas on foods for the day. Many thanks.

In the evening. Now there’s a thought. I take mine in the morning at breakfast. This probably explains why I pee little in the day and mostly at night. Time to change.👍
  13. Likewise. I didn’t want to switch guns so, for peace of mind and possible onward selling, I have had my OU’s reproofed for HP steel. Personal choice.
  14. We’re clattering along in time together 👍 Although, at four score years I’m slightly ahead 😂😂
  15. In my head I would still find it difficult in not going upstairs to bed 🛏️🛏️🤡

    SE Asia

Vietnam / Cambodia we did 30 days DIY. Into Bangkok overnight then Hanoi all pre-booked. After that we did it as we went along. N to S via Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An then ho chi min city. Hotels happy to book ahead, but have a hotel pick list before you go. Then up to Cambodia then back to Bangkok then home. We were in our 60’s. A bit of planning and you save £££ significantly. The only thing in doing it this way is there’s no ABTA or ATOL. If the brown stuff hits the rotating object in the ceiling ? You’re on your own. But, hey, life’s an adventure. Do it while you can.
  18. I was playing in a Bristol group at that time and not long after the disaster we had a gig at Garndiffaith RFC. It was difficult to find because, quite understandably, road signs had been broken and defaced to prevent unwanted gawpers. I do remember watching slag heaps increasing in size. My great grandfather was a miner in Treorchy. From there my grandfather was a hewer of coal in Nine Mile Point colliery Cwmfelinfach. As a child my mother used to take me on her annual trip to Cwmfelin where she was born and I would watch the wagons tipping slag on the heap of nine mile point. All gone now, except the memories.

  23. while on the subject , this little tinker was on my garage door yesterday. Any ideas please?
  24. Your points are well made but doesn’t answer the query. Has, or will, the BASC be complaining? A simple answer yes or no will suffice.
  25. More probably it’s attitudes like this which have prevented them coming forward because they will not be believed nor respected as victims of sexual assault or rape.
