  1. Consult the BASC. But my immediate thoughts are that although the shotguns are on a particular individuals certificate as "owner", the other person can "borrow" it for a period not exceeding 72 hrs. In excess of 72 hrs requires transfer. So in practice there's no need to do anything if each of you use the others shotgun for the day.
  2. My GP referred me to a Conultant at the local hospital. He took a piccie of my heel to identify the trouble spot which identified where he would accurately put the needle. No idea what he injected in to the problem area. But have been problem free ever since.

BASC have a webpage on carrying knives. It states that leaving a knife in a car until you next go shooting, or you forgot it was there, is not a defence. If, in the unlikely event of you being caught, you can persuade the appropriate authority that, like Steve Leatherman, you were carrying it just in case your car broke down will hopefully never be tested. But IMHO it would not withstand close scrutiny. But, as I said previously, each must make their own judgement.
  4. I have used a CTEK XS 800 for Many years and my farming friend has a number of larger CTEK models. Highly rated.

I've a Wave. Good piece of kit. Only downside these days is that It is illegal to carry one in a public place without good reason because the blades lock. One of the "good reasons" quoted on a .gov website is carrying it to and from a place of work so it may be OK to carry one to and from a shooting day. My personal experience is that I had my wave on my belt a couple of years ago when in Edinburgh. A very understanding police officer pointed out the error of my ways and a condition of it not being confiscated was that I deposited it in my Hotel and not carry it in Scotland again. Sound discretionary judgement. During our discussion he produced three Opinel knives confiscated off of French tourists who had attempted to enter the Scottish Parliment building with the knives in their pocket. Innocent of any attempted crime "every Frenchman carries one for their apple / cheese etc." But the fact is that the knife collar turns and locks the blade. It is therefore a lock knife. These days I don't run the risk. I do carry it on fishing and shooting days or DIY at sons place. But otherwise I leave it at home. If caught and prosecuted I could lose my SGC. My choice. Many PW buddies may disagree. But each must make their own judgement.
  6. Ho Ho Ho. I do love a cynic.
  7. I have a set + 1 full bodied. I wasn't too convinced about the colouring of the fud's so painted them mat black blackboard paint ( didn't use car spray in case cellulose reacted badly). They work a treat. If pigeon shooting I put three fud's either side of the decoy pattern and they pull in crows at the same time.
  8. Neither. It is "one fell swoop" the origins of which are thought to be Shakespeare's Macbeth and the slaughter of the Macduff family. But when referring to geese, the play on words of "fowl" is v funny.

Good god, I'm amongst a bunch of vandals. Glad to be part of the pack. We made our own. Elastic from The Model Airport, boot tongue to hold the projectile, whippings you learnt in the scouts. Dad was in the motor trade so standard ammo was ball bearings. Nothing was sacred when it came to targets. Living in the centre of Bristol there were many bomb sites - that shows my age - each was the territory of a bunch of little vandals euphemistically called gangs. Gang fights involved catties, dustbin lid shields, 1/2 bricks and French arrows. Scary stuff when you look back at it but it didn' appear so at the time.
  10. Not necessarily. There are a number of things it could be. Another option could be the act of "Criminal Conversion". i.e.If you inform the liquidator and despite that knowledge they still sell your watch. But it's unlikely the police would act over just a watch. Those days are gone sadly - a question of ltd resources and priorities. Best bet is as others have said is to keep at the liquidators.
  11. Out of idle curiosity where does it say it is illegal to copy SGC? And does it apply too to FACs? I did find a gov.co website where it states it's illegal to make a coloured photocopy of a passport but a black and white copy is OK as identification. But I cannot find any similar guidance on SGCs & FACs. Thanks.
  12. Have been thinking of short holiday for boar shooting in Czech Republic. From what I've read so far it seems odd that in addition to the holiday costs you expect to pay you also have to pay for every boar you shoot and the bigger the boar the pricier it gets.
  13. I had a stock which was a little stubborn so in addition to Nitromores I Very gently drew a new stanley knife blade over the more stubborn areas. You can get copy blades in £ stores.
  14. If you google "can I shoot wood pigeons in the Czech Republic?" It brings up "expats.cz" which says you can shoot wood pigeons - Yipee. but, they have a season: only from 1st Aug - 31 Oct. oh ******.
  15. You say a fuel additive but not what it's for. If it's a dpf cleaner then I use Forte dpf cleaner and regenerator off of Amazon. Recommended by my garage. It used to be trade only. My Qashqai was a right sod at clogging dpf but I've used a full bottle per 3/4 tank every 2 yrs and I'm problem free. Highly recommended.

    Corruption

Cameron makes comments about the level of corruption in Nigeria and Afghanistan and yet those two countries are the 5th and 6th biggest recipients of UK foreign aid. And, I suspect, much of that aid is diverted into their pockets of corrupt politicians. If Cameron is that concerned all he has to do is turn of the tap.
  17. As ever with price comparisons it's ensuring your comparing like with like cover. We've been with the AA for many years with roadside relay and home start. Every renewal they try to bump up the premium, seemingly at above inflation increases. I compare this with Green Flag who are generally cheaper. We then contact AA for price match or we walk. Every year they price match. On those occasions when we've needed them the service has been v good. Particularly on one occasion when my wife was a lone driver and they respond well to stranded lone females.
  18. They should have stayed as the Twerton Park second eleven. When the red red robins........ What league are you in???
  19. As a mater of interest do you return these to your supplier as being unfit for purpose?
  20. Looks good. How do you stop the damp affecting the mirroring? e.g. Like those dark blodges you see on old mirrors

  22. If drivers obey the speed limit then it's a self fulfilling prophesy. There are however practical difficulties in the way it has been implemented by the tree hugging, bike riding, car hating moronic jobsworths in the Council House. In addition to their illogical traffic calming measures and extending pavements into car lanes the 20 mph is a nightmare. It's not rolled out throughout the city and where it exists some arterial routes remain at 30mph with 20 mph sections. Drivers have to be pretty sure of where they are to avoid a ticket. And George is a nightmare too. But there's insufficient space here for that topic. Most people I speak to hope the untrustworthy gitt is voted out in the forthcoming elections.
  23. Each to his own but I wouldn't revisit this place. My Massaman Curry was a sub standard watery curry with a few potatoes and a friends chicken satay as a main course was a collection of those ready made chicken bits on sticks you get in supermarkets with a small pot of satay dip straight from an off the shelf jar. Importantly, Tripadvisor currently carries a banner headline in red that it has grounds to investigate that individuals or entities associated with this restaurant may themselves or have a hired a third party to write positive reviews about this restaurant. No smoke without fire as they say. Unfortunately there is not much on offer in the filton area. If you drive in to Bristol, about 3 miles down the A38 from the filton roundabout, there is choice of restaurants and pubs on the Gloucester Road strip down to The Arches (Cheltenham Road Bridge). If you do not wish to drink and drive then there is a bus route (75 & 76 I think) which covers this short run.
  24. I just checked the price of these. Jeeepers!! I guesse I'd better keep eating the Weetabix and lugging my brick around. Prices ranged from £153 - £180. Too steep for me.
  25. There are a number of products around e.g. CCL, Trade Secret, True-oil. I've completely stripped and reworked stock and fore grip to good effect using CCL but never done patchwork restoring small worn areas and water stains. There are a number of videos on YouTube on stock restoration which you may find of help. Hopefully someone with patching experience will post advice for you.
