  1. Has anybody any advice please on using bullet cams for night vision and can recommend a particular camera? Many that I've seen on the web are camcorders and only a few have power and AV cables to link to a screen. So, all advice welcomed. The requirement is because one farm is not cleared FAC and I was thinking of fitting a bullet cam to my shotgun for foxes. Thanks Bob
  2. Why "bar the pigeon bashing"? My 20 bores drop pigeons problem free.
  3. What suits you best is good advice. I've two twenty bores. Both 30" barrels. A Beretta SP and a Miroku MK60. Very little difference in weight and the stocks have been matched (cast and drop) by Nigel Teague. Two very similar guns yet my gun of choice is the Miroku. It just seems to suit me better. Perhaps it's a slightly different gun balance. But I have to admit I'm really not sure why it does but it does feel better. Hence the try before you buy.
  4. Ludicrous-Lumens and there are others on internet
  5. With thanks to Dave-G, FalconFN, Steve.b.wales I'm much the poorer, my pension is depleted, but I'm now happily in the world of NV. Been out a few time but would welcome advice from the experienced user on tactics. At the moment I'm using NV and spotter for bunnies with an Aa S410. For example, do you leave add-on + IR on all the time and stalk or only switch both on when in a position to shoot? All advice welcomed. Thanks.
  6. Colin Lad, I've been looking fo a good spotter handle / grip for some time. I like the one in your photo. Where did you source it please. Thanks. Bob.
  7. Davyo, have you a link please or title for Evo's video? Have searched but obviously missing keyword. Thanks. Bob

    World war 3

Herman Kahn - The Hudson Institute - Mutually assured Destruction - Springs to mind. Would you swap Moscow for New York? That said, there is still the need for a deterrent on the basis that if You decide to take me down then I'll take you with me. If I'm gone then why should I worry about what happens to you. Hopefully the thinkers will realise that. But it's the nutters we have to worry about - Jihadists, Isis etc.
  10. I get mine from one of the local gun shops. A tip. Some are slow burning so make sure all bangers have fired before you pack up and go home. The first time I used them I didn't check. I got a call from my permission and it was a 25 mile round trip to solve the problem! Once you get used to the same manufacture you can speed them up to fire more frequently by moving the bangers closer to each other in the rope.
  11. Longbower you're a gent. It arrived safely. Greatly appreciated. As has been said - PW community at its best. Bob.
  12. We have annual travel insurance so was unsighted on the Holland issue. I raised it as a chatting point in the pub the other night. Everyone thought being in the EU meant the card covered us anywhere in the EU. How wrong can we be? When I left school (v long long time ago) I worked for 4 yrs in an insurance co. Since then the need to ensure correct cover has stayed with me. Particularly as an avid SCUBA diver instructor for 20 yrs diving in far off places like Micronesia. So, PW members who recreational dive on holiday if you do not know already then please note. Off the shelf policies are of little value in these specialist areas. Most of these limit scuba divers to 20 mtrs depth and certainly do not cover casualty evacuation (which may involve helicopters or aircraft) to the nearest decompression chamber and associated costs. Diving hits cannot be covered by taking two paracetamol and a quiet night in bed. And the costs of specialist policies are quite cheap when factored in to the holiday costs.
  13. Advice please on 2 x 18650 battery holders for inside the project box. The batteries I have been viewing on line are flat topped batteries. Is the ebay No 271897325452 holder recommended in this thread suitable for flat topped batteries? If not, is there a suitable holder available and source please? Many thanks
  14. A very generous offer gratefully accepted. Thank you. PM sent. Bob

  16. Anyone know a cheap source for replacement .22 magazines please. Took my AA to local dealer for some work. On return I noticed no magazine. A quick call response was that these are always given back to the client for this very reason i.e. it's lost Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Thanks Bob

    Abandoned boat?

I owned a dive RIB for many years. Based on that experience I can assure you that there will be only two occasions when you will you will feel really happy about your boat. The first time is when you buy it. The second time is when you sell it!! In between it's a big hole into which you will pour money having a great time!!

  19. How about a shock absorber recoil pad? Two jobs in one. Extends the stock and. Softens the shooting.
  20. Hi Dave Many thanks for info. As it so happens I joined that forum to read up on the subject Bob
  21. Greatly appreciated FalconFN. Time to start sourcing. If Dave G reads the above a source for the adapter would be welcomed. Regards Bob
  22. A humungous amount of generous help on here for NV Add-on's. But I would like to build my own NV spotter and I am thoroughly confused (not being techie minded) from this and other NV threads as to what bits and bobs are for add-ons and what are for Spotters. Could some kind soul separate things out for me and let me have a NV spotter only parts list and wiring info please? Thanks. PS I do have an add-on made for me by Pete at Nightvision UK but would now like to dabble on my own.
  23. Gosh. At that price level it's worth taking the spouse for a day out drive via a point of interest eg National Trust property and meal on the way home and do a cash face to face
  24. Let's not be too condemning of all Scots. My understanding at the time of the vote of an issue deliberately avoided by Salmond is the question of the Islanders. The Orkneys, Shetlands and Hebrides did not want to be part of an Independant Scotland and implied UDI or, perhaps, stay with what remained of the UK. And the oils and has fields are closer to their territorial waters than they are to Scotland.
