evening everyone. last year's kit has seen better days so I have decided to treat myself to a new coat or smock and a new pair of trousers. mainly used for picking up but will end up doing the odd days beating. want something that I won't sweat like mad in if I have to do a bit of walking and tough enough it won't be in shreds if I have to climb through a hedge or brambles. don't really have a budget and would rather spend more on something that will last. wear a mix of boots and wellies if that helps. so many to choose from and don't want to waste money so any questions greatly appreciated. thanks Tomm

I am looking for a companion for a 6 month old lab dog after recently having to bring my spaniel inside due to her having her cruciet ligament operated on, I don't want another young dog as I don't want to be training two at the same time. Ideally a lab or cocker that I can take picking up by I'm not sure my budget will stretch that far, I work nights so the dog has company for most of the day and is only kennelled at night. Thaught I would ask here before going down the rescue road. I understand rejoining a dog is a horrible job and I hope I never have to do it myself so I am more than happy to have anyone that is looking to rehome a dog over to see my house and kennel.

Someone has lost mine after it was on long term loan so after a new one, will be a while before I need one bug thaught i would put this out there. Thanks

Thanks for the pm cocker boy I have replied! It's not so much finding a litter it's knowing what breeders or sites to use to get something that has been bread for its working capability rather than by someone who was a bit skint. Thanks

I guess if you have a way of knowing the breeders reputation than that's different, I have no way of knowing anything about the breeders as everyone I know used spaniels for beating, I would however be great full of anyone could point me in the direction of a reputable breader! hi all, I am going to be after a lab pup in the next month or two, having only had two spaniels previously both from shooting friends I don't know where to start looking for a well bred lab. I have looked on guns on pegs and uk gun dogs but Im not sure what im looking at if im honest. if there is anyone who can recommend a breeder or knows of a litter coming up please let me know. ideally I would like to see both parents but I understand sometimes its only possible to see the mother, must have had all heath checks, hips, elbows, eyes etc and be from working parents. the dog will be kept inside the house and will be used picking up twice a week in the pheasant season as well as a couple days a week decoying in the summer. I would also like to take the dog staking at some point but one thing at a time! my spaniel Is now 8 and struggles to do a full day sometimes hence wanting to bring on a pup. I am in devon but would travel a fair distance for the right pup. thanks all

if it was shot in the head you would expect to see alot more mess and more bulging of the eyes. if a center fire was used obviously. i have no experience in the use of smaller calibers for humane despatch so cannot comment on damage. but the deer i have head shot you can tell a mile off
